I have come to realize several things about the dark ambient genre and its greater community. I would like to share them with you. First off, I’m sure this will be a given for many, but when I say “darkness”, I do not only mean spooky. Darkness in the context of dark ambient manifests itself in a variety of ways. The heartbreak of a lost love. A peaceful walk through the woods on a cool evening. Extra-terrestrial lifeforms visiting our planet. A crackling fire inside an arctic cabin. A mental tour of the cosmos. These are all dark experiences. Dark, just like the man locked inside a cell, hallucinating, as he falls deeper into his insanity. Or, like the raising of evil spirits by means of seance or satanic ritual. The greatest common denominator here seems to be a sense of solitude.

The official Being Gathering 2017 movie!

From the 28th of June to the 2nd of July 2017, the second edition of the Being Gathering took place once more amidst the natural setting of the Boomland. The four days of program included a miryad of practices and activities where all participants were welcome to reconnect with themselves, those around them, and Mother Nature -- therapies, yoga, meditation, conferences, workshops, music, dance and concerts were just some of the many elements which constituted this celebration.

Soziale Gerechtigkeit

Die meisten Menschen werden durch das Würstchen des sozialen Status, das ständig vor ihrer Nase baumelt, gesteuert. Es existiert eine unsichtbare Hackordnung. Wer nicht das macht, was die Mehrheit macht, wer sich nicht anpasst und sich wie erwünscht verhält, wird zum Aussenseiter, zum einsamen Wolf. Die Schildbürger, Bünzlis und Stinknormalos haben jetzt einen neuen Namen: Neurotypisch. Die Verlogenheit von Verkäufern und Business. Die gleichgeschaltete Masse an Schafherdentieren, die alles verachtet und auf alles hetzt, was nicht wie sie ist. Kinder werden von Erwachsenen nicht wirklich ernstgenommen, und wer es dennoch tut, wird stigmatisiert und fortgeschickt. Ender Wiggin muss dringend über diese unerträgliche soziale Ungerechtigkeit sprechen.

Geschichten

Aber genug der düsteren Presse. Das Universum besteht aus Geschichten. Und es hat mir auch dieses Jahr wieder sehr schöne Geschichten beschert. Zum Beispiel am Vollbrand-Festival.

Meine Hauptgeschichte dieses Jahr ist aber das Being-Gathering. Es wundert mich ein wenig, dass das fast niemand gelesen hat. Zwei Klicks auf die Links bei Twitter und eine Handvoll Aufrufe bei Youtube. Für einen Aufwand von zwei Wochen. Das erinnert mich daran, dass ich in erster Linie ja für mich selber schreibe. Und für die Hoffnung, dass irgendjemand in der Zukunft das mal liest und Freude daran hat. Mir jedenfalls gefallen diese Heldenreisen ungemein, die mir das Boomland jedes Jahr beschert.
Es ist doch eine prima Weihnachtsgeschichte: Being Gathering 2017.

Und dann gibt es noch eine ganz besondere Geschichten- und Abenteuerzaubermaschine: Arma 3: Ein Sandkasten für erwachsene Kinder. Ich habe in diesem Jahr den Mehrspielermodus entdeckt und stiess auf eine Gemeinschaft voller kreativer, begeisterter Abenteurer und neue Freunde. Wir erschaffen unsere eigenen Geschichten mit dem Missionseditor und spielen dann ein wenig Militär und Theater und treffen Menschen aus aller Welt. Wundervoll!

Schon noch spannend. Im 2010 habe ich darüber geforscht, wie das Universum funktioniert. Vor sieben Jahren habe ich in meinem kleinen Wohnzimmer meine Überlegungen und Skizzen auf die Weisswandtafel gemalt. Etwas wurde mir im Verlauf dieser vier Tage bewusst: Das Being-Gathering ist ein Healing-Festival. Einige der besten Heiler auf dem ganzen Planeten haben sich hier versammelt und sind am Tag 3 auf dem Gelände herumgelaufen. Die Erklärungen auf dem Flipchart mit dem Knoten lösen. Das Mysterienschauspiel mit den versteckten Weisheiten und wie unser Denken funktioniert. Die Quantenheilerin. Therapeuten. Psychologen. Masseure. Dabei hatte ich mir die sieben Tipis für 1:1 Sitzungen mit hunderten von Spezialisten noch nicht mal angeschaut. Das Angebot ist riesig.

Wie immer wurde der Heilprozess für jeden Einzelnen von der Boom-Wesenheit orchestriert. Die Therapeuten sind nur die Gefässe. Zum Leben erweckt und mit Bedeutung versehen werden sie von dieser kosmischen Entität, die alles leitet, steuert und lenkt. Niemand sonst könnte jeden Einzelnen so heilen, wie sie es kann. Ich habe es selber miterlebt.

Die Dämmerung bricht herein. Zwei Frauen trommeln und singen am Strand. Ich laufe über die kleine Brücke am Anfang der Healingarea. Frösche quaken, Kinder unterhalten sich. Von entfernt ertönen Hawaiitrommeln. Friede breitet sich über dem Gelände aus.

Ich komme an den drei Rittiseilis an, von denen eins gerade frei wird. Ich setze mich hin und fange an zu baumeln. Synchron mit der Frau, die auf der linken Ritti sitzt. Da gesellt sich eine weitere Frau hinzu und setzt sich auf die Ritti quer zu unseren beiden. Wir versuchen, nicht anzustossen. Das ist allerdings schwierig, denn die Quer-Ritti hat längere Seile, und so muss ich immer kurz stoppen, damit wir nicht zusammenkrachen. Ein Gaudi!
