Das Gelände ist riesig. Der Waldrand auf der Ostseite spendet Schatten bis 13:30 für die nachtaktiven Langschläfer, der Waldrand auf der Westseite beschattet das Gelände am Nachmittag. Der Quellwasserfluss versorgt uns mit Trinkwasser, der Kühlschrankfluss hält Chees und Schoggi kühl und etwas weiter vorne bei einem Brüggli an der Emme befindet sich ein Hallenbad.

Die Einschränkungen dieses Jahr liessen das Feuerfestival auf sehr ungewissen Beinen stehen. Es ist dennoch eine „Vereins-Generalversammlung fürs OK und Interessierte“ zustandegekommen. Eine familiäre Veranstaltung mit 120 Personen; mit menschlichen Begegnungen, Gemeinschaftsküchen, Lagerfeuerstimmung und Umarmungen – in Zeiten von Veranstaltungsverboten, Maskenpflicht und Social Distancing ein revolutionärer Akt.

Liebe Boomer,

Ein submikroskopischer Infektionserreger genügte, um einige der grundlegenderen Eckpfeiler der menschlichen Zivilisation zum Einsturz zu bringen. Es hat keine Überschwemmungen oder Messias gebraucht. Ein Virus stellte unsere gesamte Gesellschaft auf den Kopf; eine Gesellschaft, die daran gewöhnt ist, Übermenschen, Reisen zum Mond und Transhumanismus zu verehren. Die Natur kann in ihrer ganzen Großmut auch im Zeitalter des Anthropozän entwaffnend ironisch sein.

Mit dem Boom-Festival wollen wir die menschliche Entwicklung anregen und fördern. Unsere Absicht ist es, einen Zustand der ultimativen Einheit zu ermöglichen, indem wir einen Raum schaffen, in dem die Menschen ein soziales Fest erleben können, das Musik, Kunst, Kultur, Nachhaltigkeit, Wohlbefinden und Wissen zusammenbringt, während sie in die Natur eintauchen. Letztendlich ist es eine Erfahrung von Zusammengehörigkeit, Nähe, Liebe und Frieden.

Die COVID-19-Pandemie hat sich täglich verschlimmert. Selbst wenn die Pandemie bis Juli abklingt, müssen wir bedenken, dass es Zeit braucht, bis sich die Gesellschaft von ihren psychologischen Auswirkungen erholt. Dies würde den Boom unweigerlich daran hindern, seinen endgültigen Zweck zu erreichen.

Das Jahr 2020 ist nicht für Festivals oder großartige Momente auf der Tanzfläche mit Freunden aus aller Welt gedacht. Dieses Jahr ist zum Nachdenken, zur Regeneration und vor allem zur Zusammenarbeit gedacht. Wir müssen mehr denn je auf das menschliche Wissen vertrauen. Wir müssen neue Paradigmen schaffen. Dieses Jahr wird das Jahr sein, in dem wir auf das aufmerksam werden, was Yuval Noah Harari zusammenfasst:

„In dieser Zeit der Krise stehen wir vor zwei besonders wichtigen Entscheidungen. Die erste ist zwischen totalitärer Überwachung und der Stärkung der Bürger. Die zweite ist zwischen nationalistischer Isolation und globaler Solidarität.“

Verlieren wir nie die Hoffnung, einen Silberstreif zu finden. COVID-19 ist zweifellos zu einem Augenöffner geworden. Es hat uns bereits neue Wege des Denkens über unseren Lebensstil gelehrt. Die Verringerung der Umweltverschmutzung und ihre Vorteile werden offensichtlich.

Die Gefangenschaft ermutigt uns, mehr über Selbstversorgung und Widerstandsfähigkeit zu lernen. Sie drängt uns auch dazu, nach lokalen Lösungen für Lieferketten zu suchen. Sie könnte uns sogar helfen, zu erkennen, dass es möglich ist, sich vom sinnlosen Konsumverhalten zu lösen, und dass ein Akt der Solidarität wertvoller ist als das neueste Gerät.

Wir werden auch Zeuge eines zügellosen Humors durch Memes, Videos und visuelle Kunst, die zeigt, dass die Menschen nicht nur einander helfen, sondern auch in der Lage sind, Schönheit und Lachen in der schmutzigsten aller Zeiten zu finden. Wir sollten in unsere Zukunft als Spezies zuversichtlich sein.

Ebenso glauben wir, dass deine Unterstützung das Boom-Festival als unabhängiges Kulturprojekt, das allein von den Eintrittskarteneinnahmen lebt, am Leben erhält. Dies war und wird auch weiterhin eine sehr schwierige Zeit sein. Boom 2020 wäre die bisher beste Ausgabe gewesen. Boom 2021 wird nicht nur das sein, sondern auch eine große Feier unserer Menschlichkeit.
