Es gilt als normal, was die Mehrheit für richtig ansieht und wie sich die Meisten verhalten. In der Regel unterwerfen sich die Menschen dieser Norm oder passen sich ihr zumindest an.

Dabei steht dieselbe auf einem recht fragwürdigen Fundament. Allein die weite Verbreitung einer Vorstellungs- oder Verhaltensweise verschafft dieser noch lange nicht ihre Berechtigung und Richtigkeit. Als im Dritten Reich das Volk Hitler zujubelte und seine Kriegspläne unterstützte, war diese Haltung etwa, nur weil sie von der Mehrheit vertreten wurde, berechtigt und richtig? Ausgehend von der Tatsache, dass unter der Menschheit Gewalt, Egoismus und Ausbeutung weit verbreitet sind, müssten solche Zustände als richtig gelten, eine Auffassung, die wohl niemand ernsthaft vertreten will. Nächstenliebe und die Bereitschaft zum Verzichten oder Teilen hingegen sind eher selten und müssten folglich als verkehrte Verhaltensweisen gelten.

Oder Medienbegrifflichkeiten wie z.B. »Pädophilenring« (= zwei und mehr vom selben Problem Betroffene, die – in welchem Kontext auch immer – in privatem Kontakt miteinander stehen); die »Pädo-Wohnung« in den gesammelten Werken des »Stern« (= Wohnung, in der ein Pädophiler wohnt); die »Pädo-Mafia« – nebst anderen Begriffsschöpfungen mit diesem Präfix mehr. Würden wir »Nigger«- oder »Juden«- skandalös vor Ortsangaben oder Handlungsstereotype setzen, dann würde jedem klar, um was es sich hier im eigentlichen handelt.

Beunruhigend ist, dass es niemandem auffällt. Grundkenntnisse über das Dritte Reich erweisen sich als nicht transferfähig.

Whether I’m a good guy or whether I’m a bad guy, whether I’m a hero or whether I’m a traitor — none of that matters.

Criticize me. Hate me. But think about what matters in the issues.

Think about the world you want to live in — and then be a part of building that.

Und mit dieser Ansage schafft es Edward Snowden in meine Heldengalerie. Damit möchte ich nicht mit der Masse mitschwimmen und ihn als „Held“ bezeichnen; vielmehr ist es -- wie bei allen anderen Vorbildern auch -- seine Art zu sein und zu handeln, die mich inspiriert. Er hat Moral und Werte, und er steht dafür ein -- wider der Risiken.

In diesem Licht sehen die Ereignisse von damals anders aus. Es ist tröstlich zu sehen, dass ich aus demselben Holz geschnitzt bin wie Edward Snowden. Auch ich ging Risiken ein, habe die Grenze übertreten, mich gegen Autoritäten aufgelehnt, als meine Meinungsfreiheit bedroht wurde -- und dann meinen Job verloren. Ich stehe für meine Werte und für das, woran ich glaube, ein.

Snowdens Rede inspiriert mich, meinen Weg weiterzugehen. Meinen eigenen Weg. Und euch damit mächtig auf den Sack zu gehen, oder vielleicht sogar ins Gefängnis. Aber es spielt keine Rolle wie ihr darüber denkt. Kritisiert mich. Hasst mich. Ich denke darüber nach, in welcher Welt ich leben will -- und helfe mit, sie zu bauen.

Ein Festival der Künste, das aber zugleich auch eine Denkfabrik und ein Spielplatz für Querdenker ist, mit dem gezeigt wird, wie Dinge auch anders angegangen werden können. Umweltbewusstsein und Zusammenleben – in kleinem Rahmen ausprobiert und einer breiten Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Die Besucher werden ermutigt, sich ins Festival einzubringen, sei dies mit künstlerischen Darbietungen, Workshops, Vorträgen, als Helfer beim Aufbau der Organisation. Das Openair zeigt, wie es auch anders geht, soll die Besucher inspirieren und ermutigen, die Zukunft in die eigenen Hände zu nehmen. Das Openair wiederspiegelt viele Tugenden: Einen nachhaltigen Lebensstil, Einklang mit der Natur, Zusammenbringen von Kulturen, Respekt und Toleranz, Eigeninitiative, Improvisation, Zufriedenheit und Lebensfreude.
