Hände in die Höhe, die Musik spielt immer höher, immer höher, immer höher. Bis alle Frequenzen am oberen Anschlag sind. Dann setzt die Musik für ein paar Sekunden aus; wie wenn man sich auf einem Sprungbrett lange vorbereitet hat. Jetzt kommt der Absprung. Freier Fall, ich drehe alle Regler runter, es ist Dunkel. Buaomm -- die Musik platscht hart auf der Wasseroberfläche auf, tiefe Bässe nehmen ungezügelt ihren Lauf und ich tauche die Meute in ein rasendes Strobogewitter ein. Sie tobt, pfeift und jubelt vor Freude.
„Am Samstag ist eine Party in Schaffhausen -- kommst du mit? Von zehn Uhr abends bis fünf Uhr morgens.“ haut mich mein Kumpel an. Parties und ‚die Nacht durchmachen‘ sind eigentlich nicht so mein Ding. Aber wir haben uns schon lange nicht mehr gesehen, und so willige ich ein. Er hat Color Overdose gegründet und ist für die Lichtdekoration zuständig, ich bin sein Helfer.

Was ist Video mapping?
Ein Beamer strahlt ein Objekt an. Man definiert Formen und Strukturen, die auf das Objekt passen -- und dann werden sie mit Licht zum Leben erweckt. Kanten blitzen, Flächen pulsieren, Farben wechseln.
Das Bühnenbild ist eine H.R. Giger Frau. Räffu definiert vier Ebenen: Die Fläche des Kopfes, die Augen, die Schlangenrohre, die aus ihrem Kopf gehen, und die Hintergrundfläche als Ganzes. Seht ihm ein wenig bei der Arbeit zu:
Vier Ebenen -- das ist doch eigentlich relativ unspektakulär, könnte man meinen. Nun -- wenn man wilde Effekte auf diese Strukturen loslässt, zaubert es ein Farbenfeuerwerk, dass als Ganzes enorm spektakulär anzusehen ist. Auf dem Gesicht tanzen Schachbrettmuster, die Rohre werden mit einer Regenbogenspirale farbig animiert und im Hintergrund läuft ein Naturvideo von einem Vulkanausbruch und giesst peitschende Lava ins Bild.
„Warte noch mit den Augen. Warte gaaanz lang. Sei sparsam mit den Effekten, überrasch‘ die Menge! Weisst du wie geil das wird, wenn die Leute spät in der Nacht immer mehr eintauchen und immer ekstatischer mitgehen -- wie die gepsycht werden, wenn sie das Bild plötzlich anschaut? 😀 “
Und wer ist am Lichtpult? „Böh, willst du das machen?“ Oh mein Gott. Ein Lichtpult zu meiner freien Verfügung! *Geifer*
Ich finde ja, dass Lichttechnik so sparsam wie möglich eingesetzt werden sollte. Es darf auch mal alles ausgeschaltet sein, ganz düster und dunkel. Für jedes Lied, für jede Stimmung will ich eine bestimmte Lichtnote, einen bestimmten Akzent setzen. Gut, von der Beleuchtung her bin ich eingeschränkt: Zwei rote Scheinwerfer vorne; zwei grüne; vier Scheinwerfer, die den DJ beleuchten; die UV-Beleuchtung; Diskokugeln und ein Stroboskop. Die Movingheads sind aus, nicht an diesem Lichtpult angeschlossen. Aber hey, mit diesen Sachen kann ich bereits eine Menge machen.
Ungefähr um Mitternacht taucht der Saaltechniker auf. „Guck mal da -- unser Stroboskop-Controller. Eigenbau!“ erklärt er mir und deutet auf ein kleines Kästchen neben dem Lichtpult. „Hier stellst du die Geschwindigkeit ein, hier ein oder aus.“ „GEIL!!“ und er fährt weiter: „Hier am Lichtpult: Es gibt zwei Reihen, die steuern beide das Gleiche. Aber mit Master A und Master B kannst du zwischen diesen beiden Szenen hin- und herwechseln.“ Na, damit kann ich doch gleich viel besser arbeiten! Wunderbar.
Das Stroboskop ist echt der Einheizknopf! Aber natürlich nur, wenn die Musik passt, und die Menge genug hochgekocht ist und es auf ein Finale zugeht. Dann schalte ich alle Lichter ab und stelle das Blitzlicht ein, so dass die staccatoartigen Roboterbewegungen zur vollen Geltung kommen. „Man kriegt ja Kopfweh, wenn man vorne steht!“ merkt Räffu an. „Gut so! Lass uns die Menge noch etwas quälen.“ entgegne ich und drehe die Frequenz am Strobometer noch etwas höher. Die Menge quittiert das mit Pfeifen und tosendem Beifall.
So geil, die meinen alle, der DJ würde diese Effekte auslösen. Dabei bin ich es im Hintergrund, der die Emotionen der Menge steuert. Genau mein Beruf -- möglichst nicht auffallen, aber die Hauptsache dazu beitragen und im Hintergrund für die nötige Epik sorgen.
Gegen vier Uhr morgens tanzt und filmt ein ganzer Pulk von Menschen *hinter* dem DJ -- also dort, wo sie eigentlich gar nicht hindürften… Doch das Geschehen ist viel zu episch, als dass sie es verpassen wollten und mindestens vier Kameras waren ständig am filmen. Ich habe so viele Menschen so glücklich gemacht. Wie sie lächeln und sich freuen. Toll!
Ich wollte eigentlich meine Flasche Mate holen, um die Müdigkeit zu bekämpfen. Dies war jedenfalls ursprünglich mein Plan. Doch ich bin überhaupt nicht müde! Im Gegenteil. Räffu murmelt mir irgendwas zu, doch ich nicke nur „später“, die Finger auf den Szenefadern, hochkonzentriert. Jetzt umschalten, damit der DJ wieder beleuchtet ist -- er eifert der Menge zu. Ich nehme das Gespräch zwischen dem Saaltechniker und der Photographin neben mir nur beiläufig auf. „Die beiden machen super Arbeit!“
Später nimmt der DJ das Didgeridoo und ich schalte alle Lampen auf gleissendes Feuerrot und das Strobogewitter auf Tausend Prozent. Minutenlang. Dann prasselt ein Blitzlichtregen mitten ins Geschehen und es ist Taghell. Der Saal ist am kochen.
„Guck mal, die ganze Hütte ist am kochen!“ sage ich schmunzelnd zu Räffu.
„Das, was ihr do botte händ -- das het no niemer fertigbroocht. Hut ab, Respekt!“ sagt der Saaltechniker zu uns. „Hey jungs, sehr geil was dr gmacht hän“. Immer wieder treffen Organisatoren auf uns und schütten uns mit Lob zu. Wow! Vielen, vielen Dank!
Das war -- legendär.
