Der 36. Chaos Communication Congress hat das Motto „Resource exhaustion“. Und genau so fühle ich mich nach diesem Kongress. Erschöpft. Ausgelaugt. Müde.

Das war der anstrengendste Kongress überhaupt, wenn nicht sogar mein Schlechtester. Keine besonderen Highlights, überall läuft alles, aber hingezogen fühle ich mich zu nichts. Zu viele Menschen, aber zu wenig bekannte Gesichter. Die lieben Bekanntschaften vom vergangenen Camp sind nicht da. Joscha Bach ist nicht da. Das Boot von vor einem Jahr ist jetzt ein fahrendes Bällebad; aber zu einer stimmungsvollen Fahrt wie damals ist es nicht gekommen. Dieses Feuerwerk ist abgebrannt, auch wenn mich viele Installationen noch gerne daran erinnern.

Das Ziel, bis am 1. Januar 2020 20’000’000$ zu sammeln, um danach 20 Millionen Bäume zu pflanzen, ist erreicht!

Ich selber habe so viele Bäume, wie ich Jahre alt bin, gespendet, und mit einer Folgespende das Total auf den Wert eines Ster Holzes erhöht. Das ist ein hübsches Wäldchen geworden. So kompensiere ich den Fussabdruck, den ich beim füürlen produziere, auf hoffentlich viele Jahre.

Jeder Mensch hat einen ökologischen Fussabdruck, und ich kenne Menschen, die sich deswegen Sorge machen. „Eigentlich müsste man sich umbringen, um keinen Fussabdruck mehr zu produzieren.“ Das Problem ist: Zu viele Menschen, zu wenig Bäume. Wir haben ein Ungleichgewicht. Wenn aber alles im Gleichgewicht ist, dann darf man einen Fussabdruck haben und die Ressourcen, die der Planet zur Verfügung stellt, nutzen und sich freuen.

Es hätte eines der zerstörerischsten Prinzipien des Online-Daseins bestätigt: dass niemand jemals einen Fehler machen darf und jeder, der einen Fehler macht, sich für alle Zeiten dafür verantworten muss.
Ich wollte nicht in einer Welt leben, in der jeder vorgeben muss, perfekt zu sein, denn in einer solchen Welt wäre für mich oder meine Freunde kein Platz gewesen.

Versuch mal, Dich an Deine eigenen Teenagerjahre zu erinnern. Ich wette, auch Du warst ein Hacker und willens, alles zu tun, um der elterlichen Überwachung zu entgehen. Du warst es leid, wie ein Kind behandelt zu werden. Erinnerst Du Dich daran, wie man sich fühlt, wenn einen jeder, der älter und größer ist als man selbst, kontrollieren will, als wären Alter und Größe gleichbedeutend mit Autorität?

Immer wieder haben Eltern, Lehrer, Trainer, Pfadfinderführer und Geistliche ihre Position ausgenutzt, um in Dein Privatleben einzudringen, Dir ihre Erwartungen für Deine Zukunft aufzudrängen und Deine Anpassung an überholte Werte zu erzwingen. Wenn diese Erwachsenen ihre Hoffnungen, Träume und Wünsche an die Stelle Deiner eigenen setzten, taten sie das nach eigener Aussage »zu Deinem Besten« oder »weil mir Dein Interesse am Herzen liegt«. Manchmal stimmte das zwar, aber wir alle erinnern uns an andere Gelegenheiten, bei denen es nicht stimmte – bei denen »weil ich es Dir sage« nicht genug war und »eines Tages wirst Du mir dankbar sein« hohl klang. Als Heranwachsende haben wir alle diese abgedroschenen Sätze gehört, und befanden uns in diesem Machtkampf auf der Verliererseite.
