Unser Arma-Clan war an der Netgame.
Ja, ich habe die Netgame in Arma3 nachgebaut. Wir spielen Netgame in Arma an der Netgame! Im Spiel selbstverständlich im Schweizer Tarnanzug.

Um den Meta-Faktor noch etwas zu erhöhen: Hier sehen wir meinen Kontroll-Laptop an der Netgame in Arma auf meinem Mobile Command Laptop an der echten Netgame.
Ich habe im Vornherein die Sitzpläne studiert und dann vor Ort mir Notizen gemacht, wer seinen PC wie angeordnet hat. Der Feinschliff erfolgte dann in der ersten Nacht im Hotel. Herumsiffende Gamer im Schlafsack auf der Bühne dürfen dabei genau so wenig fehlen wie die unzähligen Red Bull Dosen. Natürlich sind wir im Spiel alle im Schweizer Tarnanzug mit dem Schwizerchrützli auf der Schulter.
Partymission: Einen VIP zum Flughafen begleiten
Fatal Error verteilt jedem Chuba-Chups; die Meute begutachtet im Spiel derweil ihre handplatzierten Rechner und die Lebensmittelvorräte und wundert sich über die beiden Leichen. „Das sind keine Leichen, sondern Netgamesiffer mit akutem Schlafmangel!“ korrigiere ich.
Gerade als wir alle bereit waren, fängt an der echten Netgame ein Intro an zu spielen, und danach begrüsst der Organisator alle: „Härzlich Wöukomme ar Netgame, schön sit dr aui doh! Als näggsts isch s Briefing für CS:GO.“ Mich verdätschts fascht vor Lachen, denn ich weiss, was kommt.
Ich drücke auf „Play Introvideo“, und auf dem Screen in Arma startet das Netgame-Intro von vor einem Jahr. Danach stelle ich mich vor die virtuelle Leinwand: „Härzlich Willkomme an dr Netgame, schön sin dr alli doh! Als näggschts isch s Briefing für Close Protection Operative.“
Das Timing hätte nicht besser sein können. Wie geil!
Noch ahnen sie nicht, wer sie als VIP erwartet. Als wir nach draussen gehen, verdätscht es der Reihe nach alle einmal vor Lachen, als sie den Schriftzug „Saalbau Bad“ am Gebäude bemerken. Wir kommen bei der Schiessanlage an, wo der VIP gerade von einem Fernsehteam gefilmt wird.
Leider wurden die Schwierigkeitseinstellungen beim Kopieren des Profils auf den Laptop nicht übernommen; es war zu schwer. Unser Team hatte fast keine Chance, und obwohl ich den VIP unverwundbar gemacht habe -- wenn er in einem Fahrzeug sitzt und dieses explodiert, stirbt er trotzdem. So kam der Bundesrat leider im Leichensack am Flughafen an. Meine Trigger, die auf der Figur gesetzt sind, funktionieren nicht mehr und ich kann so das Abschlussvideo nicht zeigen. Mission failed. Mist.
Rammstein
Nach der Mission fährt der Konvoi vom Flughafen direkt weiter zum Amphitheater. Rammstein hat sich auf der Seebühne bereitgemacht. Fatal hat mir im Vorfeld das nützlichste Werkzeug seit fliessend Wasser im Leveleditor gezeigt: Hide Terrain Objects. Damit kann man die vordefinierten Objekte auf der Karte entfernen. Bäume, Häuser, Strassenlaternen. Dank dem konnte ich die Tribühne aufräumen und habe noch zwei zusätzliche Scheinwerfer oben an den Säulen montiert. Nun sieht sie richtig episch aus! Ich meine, boah, diese Strukturschatten an den Säulen… Hammer.

Nächste Nacht, nächste Mission. EUMETSAT-Radarstation, Tanoa.
Unsere Jungs haben die Aufgabe, eine Wetterradarstation zu unterstützen -- mit Logistik, Support und Sicherheit.
Thomas Bucheli informiert uns über die aktuelle Wetterlage.
Die nahegelegene Logistikbasis bringt Ausrüstung für die beiden Wetterradare METRAD1 und METRAD2. Unsere Leute rüsten sich aus und danach bringt ein Heli die Kiste zu METRAD2.
Dummerweise…
…kommt es beim Anflug über den dichten Dschungel zu einem Zwischenfall. Und die Wetterprognosen versprechen starken Regen in der nächsten halben Stunde.
Ein Suchteam wird losgeschickt. Da wir hier keine Nachtsichtgeräte haben, müssen sie anderweitig Licht machen. Flares, Leuchtpatronen und Knicklichter. Der Auftrag ist simpel: Zum abgestürzten Heli gehen und diese Kiste bergen.
Mission Making
Meteosupport ist eine der Missionen, bei denen ich die Ereignisse selber das Briefing machen lasse. Normalerweise steht am Anfang einer Mission jemand hin: „Hier, Helikopter ist abgestürzt, bergt mir den bitte.“ Ist es nicht interessanter, wenn sie dem Heli gleich selber beim Abstürzen zusehen? Und ja, ich will sie im dichtesten Dschungel haben. Bei Regen. In der Nacht. Ohne Nachtsichtgeräte. Das Gefühl, nur mit einer Taschenlampe im Wald zu sein. Ich probiere es aus und entdecke die Illumination Flares. OMG, wie geil der Wald beleuchtet ist! Diese Lichteffekte! Das muss eine Mission geben. Regen. Irgendwas mit Wetter. Radarstation, Helitransport, der abgeschossen wird. Warum nicht gleich die Wetterkarten dort zeigen? Und ein uraltes Schweizer-Meteo einbauen? Und eine drehende Radarschüssel, von unten beleuchtet. Das macht Stimmung!
Etwa so entstehen meine Missionen. Zuerst ist da eine Idee. „Im Dunkeln im Urwald ohne Nachtsicht“. Danach muss ich mir eine schlüssige Geschichte ausdenken, warum das jetzt so ist und sein muss und baue die Mission auf dieses Ziel, auf diese Grundidee hin. Der „Endfaden“ steht, den Weg dahin muss ich rückwärts bauen, damit die Spieler ihn in einer schlüssigen und zusammenhängenden Geschichte erleben können.
Oder die Personenschutzmission mit Ueli Maurer. Ich habe mich gefragt, ob ich dieses ulkige Video in Arma nachbauen kann. Stellt sich raus: Es gibt eine Uniform, ein Gesicht und ein Gewehr, das genau passt. Oder die Netgame nachbauen -- die Idee stand zuerst isoliert da. Warum die beiden nicht kombinieren? Briefing im Netgame-Raum, danach zum Ueli, den wir dann als VIP zum Flughafen begleiten müssen. Danach Ueli abladen und weiter zum Rammstein-Konzert. Alles auf der gleichen Karte, im gleichen Sandkasten.
Hier kommen sooo viele Dinge aus meiner Kindheit zusammen. Sändele. Playmobil, Lego. Theäterle. Auf Missionen im Wald gehen. In Parkhäuser eindringen und Brücken mit Vogelschreck sprengen. Wir haben früher besonders beeindruckende Erlebnisse in der Modelleisenbahn nachgebaut. Oder ein Tuch über den Modelleisenbahntisch gelegt und darunter eine Geisterbahn gebaut und die Eltern auf ein Abenteuer geschickt.
Heute kulminiert das alles zu Arma. Gespielt wird genau so wie damals. Jetzt kann ich als Zeus (Spielleiter) meine Kindheit nochmal voll ausleben -- als Leveldesigner, Drehbuchautor, Regisseur, Lichttechniker, Pyrotechniker, Schauspieler und Schutzengel zugleich. Cheats für alle Waffen, unbegrenzt Munition und Unverwundbarkeit brauche ich nicht, denn dieses Spiel ist bereits 100% anpassbar und folgt meinen Regeln. Und es gibt immer wieder etwas Neues zu entdecken, das Spiel und die Community ist enorm Detailverliebt.
Bis ins kleinste Detail
Ballistik
Kugeln fliegen durch die Luft, wie in jedem anderen Ballerspiel auch? Nope. Die Flugbahn wird ballistisch berechnet, und mit dem Advanced Combat Environment (ACE) Mod kommen zusätzliche Einflussfaktoren dazu wie Kalibergrösse, Höhe über Meer, Temperatur, Wind und Wetter, Corioliskraft, Luftdichte, Luftfeuchtigkeit, die Gaskonstante der Luft und die molekulare Masse von Wasserdampf. Erwähnte ich, das ACE Opensource ist und man das alles auf GitHub nachsehen und anpassen kann?
Die Klimamodelle basieren auf realen Daten und sind auf den Monat genau berechnet.
Advanced Medical System
Das Team wird beschossen, Respawn bei der Basis? Oder wiederbeleben, indem man einfach 10 Sekunden lang die Leertaste drückt? Nicht beim erweiterten Verletztensystem.
Es gibt 8 verschiedene Arten von Wunden; Puls, Blutdruck und Bewusstheit müssen beachtet werden; Druckverband, Operationsbesteck und verschiedene Lösungen wie Morphium, Adrenalin, Atropin und eine Salzlösung helfen beim Retten. Schussverletzung, der Patient ist nicht ansprechbar? Wunde abbinden, aber dann funktioniert die Morphinspritze nicht mehr, weil das Blut im abgebundenen Arm bleibt. Patient ist bewusstlos? Herzmassage, Epinephrin (Adrenalinspritze) via Autoinjector.
Die Spieler müssen als Gruppe zusammenarbeiten und die Mission ernst nehmen, wenn es zur Sache geht. Trotzdem ist auch viel Gelächter dabei, denn natürlich webe ich immer viel Humor und Spass mit ein. Serious Fun.
Clippy
Nach einer Mission münden die Diskussionen in Lagerfeuergespräche über Gott und die Welt, und es entstehen wieder neue Ideen für weitere Missionen. Oder Blödsinn 😀 -- wie z.B. Clippy:
Clippy, die Bullshit-Büroklammer! Ich will sie wiederhaben! Es stellt sich raus, dass Clippy -- neben dem Gröhlfaktor -- sich als ziemlich nützlich für Missionen herausstellen könnte: Um den Spielern Hinweise zu geben, falls sie etwas übersehen oder nicht weiterkommen. Die Google Bildsuche bringt Clippy in Vollmontour zum Vorschein und oh mein Gott, den muss ich unbedingt einbauen!
Arma hat ein ziemlich mächtiges Skriptsystem. Ich finde mich zurecht, stelle Clippy als transparentes Bild frei, baue ein GUI ein, damit ich beliebige Texte anzeigen kann und danach wird der Text über eine globale Variable im Netzwerk zu allen Spielern propagiert.
Eine Woche später ploppt Clippy, wie er leibt und lebt, während meiner Mission auf und sorgt für reges Gelächter:
Wieder einige Zeit später: Clippy ist ein Mod und wird von 730 anderen Spielern genutzt, der Code ist auf GitHub.
Die Community von Arma hat so einen Glanz von Open Source und selbermachen.
Ich liebe es.
Einen Abend lang eine Gruppe von Menschen durch eine eigene Geschichte führen, in andere Rollen schlüpfen, Hindernisse einbauen, die sie herausfordern. Ihnen einmal alles, ein andermal nur begrenzt Mittel geben, denn:
„Lernt die Ressourcen zu nutzen, die ihr habt und macht das Beste daraus“
hat uns Jugger einmal gesagt. Eine wunderbare Lebensphilosophie.
