Funky Beach. Ein Bereich, der ziemlich weit abgelegen vom Festival ist. Als ob er nicht mehr dazugehören würde; hinter dem Campingbereich, ganz links am Strand. Die Musik ist ganz anders. Auch gibt es dort eine Bar mit Giftausschank.

Jack ist heute leider nicht mehr aufgetaucht am Infostand, dafür aber Alex und Tim; die beiden aus der Londoner Fraktion, die ich am Mittwoch so plötzlich verlassen musste, zugunsten des Vortrags von Daniel Pinchbeck. Das war ein freudiges wiedertreffen! Jetzt sitzen wir am Strand und geniessen unseren Sangria.

Kaum aus Ägypten zurück, und schon wieder am planen für die nächsten Ferien.

Diesen Sommer geht es nach Senegambia (Senegal und Gambia). Senegambia liegt an der Westlich Afrikanischen Küste, gleich unter Mauretanien.

 

 

 

Die Hauptstadt von Senegal ist Dakar, welches durch das Wüstenderbi Paris-Dakar berühmt wurde. Die Landessprache Senegals ist französisch, was von der ehemals Französischen Kolonie herrührt.

 

 

 

 

 

Gambias Hauptstadt ist Banjul, Gambia wird komplett von Senegal eingeschlossen, es ist somit ein Staat im Staat und der kleinste von ganz Afrika noch dazu. Die Landessprache von Gambia ist Englisch (früher englische Kolonie).

Auch dieses Mal soll in kurzer Zeit viel gesehen und erlebt werden. Dazu ist natürlich eine ausgefeilte Planung von Nöten. Im Gegensatz zu Marokko oder Ägypten verfügt Senegambia über ein leicht tropischeres Klima. Dies bewirkt jedoch, dass die Mücken Population höher als in Europa ist, und dazu noch Malaria Gefahr herrscht. Malaria ist zwar kein Grund zur Panik, doch sollte dieses Problem nicht so auf die leichte Schulter genommen werden. Laut verschiedener Reiseführer und Online Foren, macht es aber keinen Sinn sich gegen Malaria impfen zu lassen. Um das Risiko einer Malaria Infektion zu verringern sollte man folgendes beachten.

Die Malaria übertragenden Mücken sind erst nach Sonnenuntergang aktiv, vorher sind normale Mücken unterwegs. Wichtig ist, dass man sich gut eincremt und Hautfreie stellen bedeckt. Der Schlafplatz sollte auch von einem Mückennetz geschützt sein, am besten eignen sich dafür imprägnierte Mückennetze. Wenn man diese Vorsichtsmassnahmen beachtet und umsetzt, sollte das Risiko um ein vielfaches geringer sein.

Weiter gehört natürlich auch die Planung der Reiseroute dazu. Hier ist natürlich noch nichts Definitives entschieden, doch einige Punkte sind schon klar. Wir werden bestimmt den grössten Nationalpark von Senegal ansteuern, in dem noch heute einige der Top Five (Elefant, Nashorn, Büffel, Löwe, Gepard), zu finden sind.

Um an die einzelnen Punkte unserer Reise zu gelangen, setzen wir verschiedene Verkehrsmittel ein. Einen Teil der Reise soll in einem gemieteten Auto gemacht werden. Vorteil hierbei ist es, dass die Reisezeit selbst gewählt wird und man auch mal ein bisschen ab den normalen Pisten gehen kann.

 

Natürlich wird auch eine menge Bildmaterial entstehen, welches ich gerne hier dann auch zeigen werde.Einen härtetest für meine D40x und der erste richtige Fronteinsatz 😀

Ich hoffe mal einen kleinen Einblick in dieses interessante Unternehmen ermöglicht zu haben. Sobald weitere Neuerungen da sind werde ich diese natürlich hier veröffentlichen.

Hoppla. Jetzt ist es soweit. Ich bin umgezogen.
Und hier bin ich gelandet: Kolumbanstrasse 32, 9008 St. Gallen.

Ein komisches Gefühl – jetzt bin ich für alles selbst verantwortlich…

Jetzt sitze ich also hier – und ich fühle mich wie ein Fisch im kalten Wasser. Wildfremde Menschen an einem wildfremden Ort! Jetzt beginnt ein völlig anderer Alltag. Ob ich damit klarkomme? Muss wohl…

Aber was so eine neue Wohnung alles für Arbeit gibt! Das fängt beim Einkaufen an: Frohen Mutes marschiere ich in den Laden. Brot, Teigwaren, Hackfleisch, und was Süsses – lässt sich damit leben? Theoretisch ja, praktisch……. nicht ganz. beim Kochen merkte ich nämlich plötzlich, dass die Teigwaren noch etwas Salz bräuchten, und sich das Fleisch ohne Fett nicht optimal anbraten lässt… Und so schmeckte das erste Essen halt ein wenig Fad und ich ging halt noch ein zweites mal in den Laden, um die Grundnahrungsmittel zu besorgen: Milch, Zucker, Salz, Butter… All die „unwichtigen“ Dinge, die es sowieso Zuhause hätte 😉

Und das Einräumen geht wohl auch nicht in zwei Tagen über die Bühne. Das wird sich sicher über eine Woche hin ziehen.

Uiuiui. Es kommt ordentlich Overhead in meinen Alltag…

Aber: Die Wohnlage ist schön ruhig, der Bahnhof auch nicht weit, und meine 4-Zimmer Villa im 3. Stock hat einen Lift, zwei Balkone mit Abendsonne und sogar eine Geschirrspülmaschine – die rinnt zwar manchmal etwas, aber wer will schon gerne von Hand Geschirrspülen? 😛
