Was macht wirklichen Schulerfolg aus? Gilt der Grundsatz «Übung macht den Meister»? Oder ist es die Intelligenz, die darüber entscheidet, ob das Lernen gelingt oder nicht? In Pratteln wurde am 1. August 2018 am Gallenweg 8 eine Tagesschule eröffnet, die beim Lernen neue Wege geht.

Ausgangspunkt für das Schulprojekt war eine Entdeckung. Denis Marcel Bitterli, Initiant und Schulleiter der ­Privatschule, führte als Volksschullehrer in seinem Klassenzimmer vor 25 Jahren ein neues Fach ein: Die Lernwerkstatt. In dieser wurde statt Vokabeln zu büffeln oder viele ­Arbeitsblätter auszufüllen an eigenen Lernprojekten gearbeitet. Es entstanden Filme, Marionetten, Baumhäuser, Instrumente oder Anlagen für Modelleisenbahnen. ­Zugleich wurde mit der fachlichen Arbeit herausgearbeitet, welche Bedeutung das Werk für die ­persönliche Entwicklung und das Arbeitsverhalten haben könnte. ­Themen wie Abgrenzung, Konkurrenz oder Angst wurden besprochen. Obwohl die Mädchen und Knaben ­dadurch weniger Deutsch- und Mathematikunterricht hatten, liess sich bereits nach wenigen Wochen mit Erstaunen feststellen, dass sich die Leistungen der Schüler markant verbesserten. Sowohl in der Fach-, wie auch in der ­Sozial- und Selbstkompetenz waren deutliche Fortschritte ­erkennbar. Warum?

Die Erfahrungen aus dem Klassen­zimmer liessen den ­Bildungsfachmann aufhorchen. Bauen wir unsere Schulen auf überholten pädagogischen Grundsätzen auf? Müssten wir nicht eine ­Neugewichtung vornehmen und vermehrt auf der Förderung von Selbst- und Sozialkompetenz auf ­bauen? Zusammen mit Kollegen stellte er sich den pädagogischen Fragen. Gemeinsam begannen sie, das Unterrichten zu überdenken und auf den Kopf zu stellen. Ein Konzept entstand, welches Bildung und ­Schule auf das Wesentliche – auf die Entwicklung von Beziehungs­fähigkeit – ausrichtet. Es entstand die Prima Bildung.

Es gibt keine Einheitsklassen sondern altersdurchmischte Lerngruppen. Neben Kindern und Jugendlichen, welche die obligatorische Schulzeit zurücklegen, kommen auch Eltern und Erwachsene in den Genuss von Bildungsangeboten. Für die Schüler gibt es keine Hausaufgaben und keine Prüfungen, sondern Kompetenznachweise. Anstatt mit Noten werden die Leistungen mit einem Portfolio aus gewiesen. Stundenplan und Lern­inhalte legen die Schüler gemeinsam mit den Lernbegleitern fest. Man kann in den Ferien zur Schule gehen. Die Schule findet nicht nur im Schulhaus, welches übrigens alles andere wie ein klassisches Schulhaus aussieht – sondern auch in Lernateliers an anderen Orten statt. Auch ausserschulische Lernangebote, die in Vereinen und in der Freizeit besucht werden, sind ein Bestandteil der Bildung.

You are guilty until proven innocent, and who will prove you innocent? You are told what to do, think, and say for six hours each day. If your teacher says sit up and pay attention, you had better stiffen your spine and try to get Bobby or Sally or the idea of Spring or the play you’re writing off of your mind. The most constant and thorough thing students in school experience — and learn — is the antithesis of democracy.

„Am Mittwoch spielt eine Deathmetal-Band.“

„OH MY FUCKING GOD WIE GEIL!!!!!“ platze ich raus und verfalle gleich in schallendes Lachen.

Der Christoph schleppt eine Deathmetalband an ein Hippiefestival. Ich frage mich jetzt schon, wo ich all das Popkorn herkriege für dieses Ereignis. So ein geiler Siech! Ja, wir wollen ja ein Festival sein, dass möglichst viele Kulturen und Stilrichtungen beinhaltet. Metal hat bisher gefehlt. Letztes Jahr hatten wir noch darüber gewitzelt, ob wir ein Wacken-Village als Camp machen wollen… Und jetzt spielt einfach eine Metalband!

Flötenzauber, Hunde und Gitarren spielen zierlich im Zirkuszelt, während sie auf der Bühne anfangen, die bösen Gitarren aufzustellen… Au weia, das wird ja heiss! 😀

Vor einem Jahr habe ich ein Ballett beleuchtet. Die Tanzlehrerin dort hatte sich echauffiert, dass ich zu viele Effekte einsetze, und „bitte nicht zu viel Nebel!“. Einsam drehten die vereinzelten Scheinwerfer auf dem Gerüst vor der Bühne und ScanShow verschluckte sich manchmal an den Makros…

Etwa zur selben Zeit hatte ich erfahren, dass der Hersteller der grössten und besten Lichtsteuerungssoftware auf der ganzen Welt eine abgespeckte Version der GrandMA-Konsole für kleinere Veranstaltungen veröffentlicht hat: dot2.
Und dass es eine PC-Version davon gibt.
Und dass man die gratis herunterladen kann.
Und dass man damit 512 DMX-Kanäle über Art-Net steuern kann.
Wait what? Ich kann meine Shows nun mit der Software steuern, mit der sie all die grossen Openairs beleuchten?

Vor einem Jahr: Die Welt in 14 Jahren

Wir sitzen am Feuer, es dunkelt ein. Unsere Kommune ist selbstorganisiert, selbstversorgend und selbstverwaltet. Gemütliche Strohballenhäuser halten die Temperaturen im Winter warm und im Sommer kühl. Komposttoiletten und biologische Wasseraufbereitungsanlagen verwandeln Abfallstoffe zurück in Nährstoffe. Jeder hat seinen Stamm, seine Gleichgesinnten, wo er sich zuhause fühlen kann: Geborgen, ermutigt, bestätigt und respektiert in seiner ganzen Seinsart, Eigenart und Vielfalt. Auf der ganzen Welt haben sich Menschen zu Kommunen zusammengeschlossen und leben in ihren natürlichen Kulturkreisen, jede mit ihren Eigenarten und Spezialitäten. Überregional schliesst man sich zu einer Föderation zusammen, die immer aus wechselnden Mitgliedern der Kommunen besteht. Manchmal gehen Kinder zur Föderation und vertreten ihre Interessen. Sie haben eine Stimme und werden als vollwertiges Mitglied der Gesellschaft gezählt und respektiert, denn sie können uns vieles zeigen. Jeder Mensch findet irgendwo seine Aufgabe, ist aber nicht gezwungen, nach einer zu suchen, oder seine Tätigkeit mit anderen zu vergleichen und messen. Da gibt es Milchhändler, Imker, Netzwerkspezialisten, Händler, Schreiner, Geschichtenerzähler, Musiker, Tierfreunde und Gärtner – oder gleich Menschen mit allem zusammen. So genaue Grenzen wie „einen Beruf“ gibt es nicht. Wir sind nicht am arbeiten, sondern am spielen. Talente werden spontan entdeckt und weiterverfolgt, in dem man einander über die Schulter schaut. Wissen wird in Gilden ausgetauscht, und es gibt Gilden (Zusammenschlüsse) von und für fast jede Art von Tätigkeitsgebiet. Klassisch: Die Handwerkergilde. Dann aber auch die Gilde der Informationsritter, die sich mit dem zur Verfügung stellen und der Verbreitung von Information befasst; also Netzwerk, Kryptografie, Speicherdienste, Hosting, Sendestationen, Datenübertragung. Jeder hat seine eigene Sendestation, mit der er Informationen in Text, Bild und Ton verbreiten kann. Die Gilde der Blumenwächter schützt und erhält seltene Arten. Baumwächter und Waldhirten forsten den Wald auf und bestimmen Schutzzonen, die den Hauptbestandteil des Waldes ausmachen, und die Zonen für Brennholz. Der Wald ist riesig; fast 82% des Landgebietes bestehen aus Wald. In jeder Gilde finden sich Menschen im Alter von 1-130 Jahren, und wenn Menschen mit viel Erfahrung auf Frischlinge treffen, lernen die Kleinen sehr schnell und vor allem: Praktische Fähigkeiten. Dank der Gilde der Nuklearphysik steht in jeder Kommune ein Reaktor, der die Energie aus dem Raum selbst transponiert. Kunst ist überall. Jeder Tag ein Fest. Der Umgang mit psychotropen Hilfsmitteln ist bewusst und wird für verschiedene Situationen angemessen genutzt und wirkt bereichernd. Es gibt ganze Archive voller Wissen und Bücher, wo die Geschichte, Forschung und Erkenntnisse bewahrt werden. Jeder hat dazu freien Zugang. Die Gilde der Raumfahrt entwickelt an geeigneten Plätzen Raumschiffe.

Heutzutage sind Geschlecht, Hautfarbe, Besitz und Behinderung keine Kriterien mehr dafür, ob ein Mensch das Wahlrecht hat oder nicht. Anders ist dies bisher bei einer anderen Eigenschaft, auf die der Mensch keinen Einfluß hat: seinem Alter. Dies halten wir für ungerecht. Unsere Forderung ist daher das Wahlrecht ohne Altersgrenze.

Erst wenn Kinder und Jugendliche eine Wahlstimme haben, werden Politiker und Parteien nicht mehr daran vorbeikommen, die Interessen dieser Bevölkerungsgruppe zu beachten. Es geht aber nicht nur darum, daß Kinder und Jugendliche in der Kinder-, Jugend-, Familien- und Schulpolitik mitbestimmen, auch nicht nur in der Umwelt-, Verkehrs- und Baupolitik, sondern gleichberechtigt mit allen auch in Bereichen wie Innenpolitik, Wirtschaft und Finanzen. Kinderparlamente oder -beiräte sind reine Spielwiesen und für echte Mitbestimmung gänzlich ungeeignet. In einer Demokratie sollte gelten, daß alle Menschen, die von Entscheidungen betroffen sind, an deren Zustandekommen beteiligt werden, und sei es über den Umweg, daß sie die Entscheidungsträger in Parlamente wählen.

Oft heißt es, Kinder seien zu unreif zum Wählen. Dabei geht es beim Wählen überhaupt nicht um Reife oder Kompetenz. Denn es gibt keine Instanz die objektiv über die Qualität der Argumente entscheiden könnte. Außerdem sind Wahlen keinesfalls ausschließlich rationale Angelegenheiten. Es werden einfach Stimmen gezählt. Und dabei zählt die Stimme des Politologieprofessors oder Spitzenkandidaten genausoviel wie die des betrunkenen politisch uninteressierten Fußballfans, des senilen Rentners oder dann auch des Kindes. Es ist auch vollkommen egal, ob sich Kinder mit Politik auskennen oder ob überhaupt jeder wählen will. Es geht ja um ein Recht und nicht um eine Pflicht. Das Wahlrecht ist ein Grundrecht. Darum darf es auch nicht an irgendwelche Pflichten gekoppelt werden.

Oft hört man auch, Kinder seien beeinflußbar. Aber wer ist das nicht? Wozu dann Wahlkampf und Wahlwerbung? Beeinflussung ist etwas ganz normales. Auch Eheleute beeinflussen sich gegenseitig. Aber Kinder würden ja nicht nur von ihren Eltern, sondern auch von Freunden oder anderen Menschen, mit denen sie zu tun haben, beeinflußt werden. Es ist jedenfalls immer noch besser, wenn Kinder von sich aus das gleiche wählen wie ihre Eltern, als wenn die Eltern für jedes Kind noch eine Stimme dazukriegen. Ähnlich wie sich der Blick auf Frauen nach der Einführung des Frauenwahlrechts geändert hat, wird sich auch der Blick auf Kinder ändern, wenn diese das Wahlrecht haben. In Bezug auf den Wahlkampf müßte dieser im Zweifelsfall reguliert werden, statt 20% der Bevölkerung von der Demokratie auszusperren.

Auch daß Jugendliche vielleicht eher radikale Parteien wählen, kann kein Argument sein. Es ist schlicht undemokratisch zu sagen: „Na welche Leute lassen wir denn wählen, damit ein schönes Ergebnis rauskommt?“. Aber nach Einführung des Kinderwahlrechtes werden sich die Parteiprogramme ohnehin ändern. Nicht nur die langfristigen Folgen der heutigen Politikentscheidungen werden dann mehr Berücksichtigung finden. Auch die gegenwärtigen Probleme von jungen Menschen – besonders in Schule und Familie – werden dann mehr beachtet werden müssen. Schließlich wollen Politiker und Parteien ja gewählt werden.

Ein guter Anfang -- sowas hätte ich mir damals gewünscht, zu meiner Schulzeit. Allerdings ist das immer noch viel zu wenig; und dass die Lernprogrammierumgebung Geräusche von sich gibt, wenn man etwas kompiliert oder Knöpfe drückt, ist ein weiteres Beispiel davon, dass Kinder von Erwachsenen nicht wirklich ernst genommen werden. Mir ging die kindische Aufmachung mit Bären und Robotern schon als Kind auf den Sack, und warum muss etwas lustig piepsen und sich animieren, obwohl es sonst keinen Zweck erfüllt? Weil die Erwachsenen meinen, etwas sei nur kindergerecht, wenn es so verniedlicht wird? Ich bitte euch. Eine weitere künstliche Grenze, die nicht sein müsste. Man kann etwas auch in kleinen Schritten lernen, ob als Kind oder Erwachsener. Bei Minecraft jubeln schliesslich auch keine Roboter und Barbies, wenn man zum ersten mal erfolgreich etwas automatisiert hat, und Minecraft spielen die Kinder gern. Zurecht hat jemand am Ende diese Verniedlichung in Frage gestellt, begleitet von zustimmendem Applaus.

Und dann diese Annahme -- „können die Kleinen das?“ UND OB. Was soll diese Frage?!? Aber natürlich können die das! Wenn man ihnen nur die Möglichkeit gibt. Woher kommt diese Annahme, dass Kinder etwas noch nicht können sollen oder sich nicht dafür interessieren würden? Erwachsene und ihre Kinderfilterblasenfantasiewelt. Die Ergebnisse des Bildungsexperiments überraschen mich nicht im geringsten: Kinder können programmieren und löten und sich dafür begeistern.

Kinder werden von Erwachsenen nicht wirklich ernst genommen. Vielfach nutzen Politiker Begegnungen mit Kindern zur Selbstdarstellung. Im Zweifelsfall entscheiden sich die Erwachsenen, gerade auch die Politiker, nicht für die Kinderforderungen. Kinder werden von ihnen nicht als Subjekte mit tatsächlich gleichberechtigten Interessen wahrgenommen.

Alles hat mit einigen einfachen Fragen angefangen, z.B.: Dürfen Eltern Dich zwingen, Klamotten anzuziehen, die Du nicht willst? Wann wird ins Bett gegangen? Darf der Lehrer aufs Klo gehen verbieten? Insgesamt war schnell eine ganze „Fibel“ mit Problemen von jungen Menschen zusammengetragen. Das war 1992. Die Gruppe, die sich diese Arbeit gemacht hatte, gab sich den Namen KinderRÄchTsZÄnker, kurz K.R.Ä.T.Z.Ä. Seitdem gibt es im Verein Netzwerk Spiel/Kultur Prenzlauer Berg e.V. ein Projekt, in dem sich Jugendliche mit der Gleichberechtigung von Menschen unabhängig vom Alter beschäftigen. Und neben den alltäglichen Ungerechtigkeiten, denen junge Menschen häufig ausgesetzt sind, stießen sie beim Nachdenken schnell auf mehrere sehr allgemeine Punkte, die die ganze Gesellschaft betreffen: Woher nehmen Eltern das Recht, ihren Kindern Vorschriften zu machen? Ist die Schulpflicht sinnvoll oder sollte sie nicht besser durch ein Bildungsrecht ersetzt werden? Warum haben Kinder kein Wahlrecht?
