Many people are afraid to run a Tor exit node. Note: An exit node is NOT the same as a relay! Only on exit nodes users from the Tor network are allowed to access the rest of the internet anonymously, which can be dangerous and prone to abuse. But Tor relays keep their traffic inside the Tor network. I’m running such a Tor relay since february. Now, I’m considering running an exit node.

I asked my hoster:

Am I allowed to run a Tor exit node?

They answered:

Dear Mr. Hohl,

For now our ToS allows Tor nodes. but please be advised they are really easy to abuse.
We will try to protect the network with our firewall in case of problems (we already experienced spam from ToR networks).
In any case a ticket will be opened upon abuse case and we will try to keep both sides confidentiality during negotiation.

Rückblick

Ein Blick aufs Inhaltsverzeichnis.

Wir gingen bei eisiger Kälte von minus ∞*∞^∞*10Googolplexplexplex Grad unter Null in Zürich demonstrieren. Gegen ACTA. Erfolgreich: ACTA ist vom Tisch! Und was lernen wir daraus? Wenn nur genug Leute Stunk machen, dann bewirkt das wirklich was! Sensationell, das zu sehen. Macht bitte weiter! Wir haben noch ein paar Grosskonzerne, die ich gerne zerschmettert sehen würde. Hier ist der 10 Punkteplan für das Handeln. Hoffentlich sieht dann die Welt in 19 Jahren besser aus.

Ich mag hochwertige Produkte, die lange halten, liebe Logitech. Hochwertige Mäuse. Oder echte Bücher aus Papier. Ganz besonders Tagebücher. Schreibt eure eigenen Tagebücher! Macht mehr Blogs! Ihr könnt und dürft über alles schreiben. Zum Beispiel über Erlebnisse beim Knochenbrecher. Oder über einen Selbstversuch mit Ritalin.

Selbstverständlich dürft ihr auch über Festivals schreiben. Zum Beispiel über das Feuerfestival. (Kommt ihr nächstes Jahr auch?) Auch mehrteilige Blogbeiträge über das Boom Festival sind erlaubt. Wer sich daran stört, soll seine Fresse halten und sein eigenes Tagebuch schreiben. Ich hab ein Problem, wenn die Menschen nicht wahrhaftig, echt, integer sind. Nicht das machen, was sie sagen. Obama zum Beispiel. Dieser Scheissneger labert seit Jahren von „CHAAAANGE, YIZZ WEH KÄHN.“ Und macht einfach weiter mit dem Krieg. Dabei mögen der Iran und Israel sich ganz gut.

Euer Internet ist nur geborgt! Und wer kein Facebook Profil hat, macht sich verdächtig. Die Regierung fordert Zwang zum Entschlüsseln.

Einen Weg finden. Den Weg gehen. Das war mein Motto 2012. Der Weg – die Heldenreise.

So wie ich vor einem Jahr im Rückblick, Einblick, Ausblick geschrieben habe:

Lass die Heldenreise beginnen.

Und was ist passiert? Genau das!
Mind = blown.
Am Boom Festival wurden mir die Konzepte der Heldenreise mehrfach auf eindrückliche Weise erläutert, und mir wurde klar: Ich bin selbst auf der Reise, an diesem Festival. Ich gehe in unbekanntes Gebiet, mache Erfahrungen, bringe sie zurück und teile sie der Welt mit. Das ist genau das Konzept.

Und das wird sich wiederholen. Für immer.

Ausblick

Der Weg, den ich gegangen bin, geht weiter. Ich komme nun an ein Portal. Es ist klar, was folgt: Ich werde im nächsten Jahr 29.5 Jahre alt. Saturn’s Return. Und verdammt Leute, ich bin nervös. Was kommt da auf mich zu? Mein Leben wird auf einen Prüfstein gelegt. Ob ich das bestehe? Es ist wie eine Achterbahnschiene. Irgendwann geht’s runter. Wird’s schlimm? Ich will noch gar nicht viel dazu sagen. Wir werden sehen.

Der Chaos Computer Club Schweiz ist nun offiziell gegründet. Die Gründungsversammlung fand am 15. Dezember 2012 auf dem Bundesplatz in Bern statt. Nun wollen die Beteiligten unter anderem mit Vorurteilen gegen Hacker aufräumen.

42 Delegierte verschiedener lokaler Chaostreffs der Schweiz haben am 15. Dezember 2012 offiziell den Dachverband Chaos Computer Club Schweiz gegründet. Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern zählen unter anderem die Chaostreffs Zürich, Basel, Bern und St. Gallen sowie der Hackerspace Freiburg.

Nach Angaben des Vorstandes gehört es zu den Aufgaben des CCC Schweiz, negative Vorurteile gegen Hacker des CCC in der Öffentlichkeit zu korrigieren. „Wir sind die Guten und setzen uns unter anderem für Bürgerrechte im digitalen Raum ein – Rechner zu sabotieren und Schaden anzurichten gehört nicht zu unseren Zielen“, hieß es dazu auf der Gründungsveranstaltung.

Außerdem will sich der CCC Schweiz mit Vereinigungen wie der Digitalen Gesellschaft Schweiz an Aktionen gegen die Vorratsdatenspeicherung beteiligen. Verletzungen der Privatsphäre und der informationellen Selbstbestimmung im Netz würden nicht nur Hacker als „Einheimische des Internet“ betreffen, sondern letztlich „alle Bürger in gleicher Weise“.

Die Schweizer Hacker schliessen sich zusammen und gründen den Chaos Computer Club Schweiz (CCC-CH). Die Gründungsversammlung findet am 15. Dezember auf dem Bundesplatz in Bern statt.

Der Zusammenschluss erfolge, damit die Öffentlichkeit verstärkt auf das positive Anliegen der Hacker aufmerksam gemacht werden könne, heisst es in einer Mitteilung vom Montag. Zudem will der CCC-CH die gemeinsamen Interessen der Hacker – auch in Kooperation mit anderen Gruppen der Zivilgesellschaft – fördern.

Für ein freies Internet

In der breiten Öffentlichkeit ist der der deutsche Chaos Computer Club (CCC) seit Jahren präsent. Der 1981 in Berlin gegründete Mutterverein steht allen Interessierten offen, die sich mit den Zielen identifizieren können. In der Vergangenheit haben CCC-Mitglieder mit spektakulären Aktionen auf Schwachstellen in Computer-Systemen hingewiesen. Aber auch der fragwürdige Einsatz von Computertechnik, zum Beispiel durch staatliche Schnüffel-Software, wird vom CCC mit Argusaugen verfolgt und öffentlich kritisiert.

Zu den Gründungsmitgliedern des Schweizer Verbandes gehören der Chaos Computer Club Zürich sowie die Chaostreffs Basel, St. Gallen und Bern-Ostermundingen. In diesen Zirkeln wird gemäss Angaben des CCC-CH gemeinsam über die sozialen Auswirkungen von Computern und des Internets sowie über die Gefahren und Möglichkeiten diskutiert.

Internationales Treffen Ende Jahr

Die Club-Mitglieder setzen sich für Datenschutz, Informationsfreiheit und für ein Recht auf freie und unbehinderte Kommunikation im Internet und für andere Bürgerrechte im digitalen Raum ein, wie es in der Mitteilung weiter heisst.

Nach seiner Gründung wird sich der Schweizer Verband erstmalig auf dem 29. Chaos Communication Congress in Hamburg mit einem eigenen Stand präsentieren; auf dem bekannten Hacker-Treffen zwischen Weihnachten und Neujahr werden über 5000 Besucher aus der ganzen Welt erwartet.

• Öffentliche Schlüssel werden auf Verzeichnissen publiziert
• Problem: Jemand kann unter dem gleichen Namen des Empfängers einen Schlüssel ins Verzeichnis stellen und sich als Empfänger ausgeben

Wie stellen wir sicher, dass der Empfänger auch wirklich derjenige ist, als den er sich ausgibt? Ich habe nicht mit ihm persönlich Schlüssel getauscht.

Lösung: Über ein Web of Trust; einen Vertrauenspfad.
