Fürs Tagebuchschreiben braucht man kein extra Schreiblustiger oder Schreibgewaltiger zu sein. Tagebuchschreiben heisst auch nicht unbedingt: jeden Tag schreiben. Manchmal hat man (sich) viel zu sagen, manchmal ist Funkstille im Kopf. Manchmal ist einem gar nicht zum Schreiben zumute. Doch oft lohnt es sich, einen Anlauf zu nehmen und etwas zu Papier zu bringen, um es «loszuwerden».

Die leeren Blätter nehmen einfach alles auf, was dich beschäftigt, sei das nun deine Zukunft, ein böser Traum, ein Zaubertrick, ein Streit… Auf dem Papier darfst du mit deinen Bleistiftzähnen so richtig zubeissen, darfst ein ganz Garstiger sein oder ein ganz Listiger. Wenn du das Tagebuch dann wieder weglegst, bist du vielleicht ein erstaunlich Friedfertiger, und wer weiss, mit der Zeit wird aus dir sogar ein Schreibsüchtiger.
Es gibt ganz verschiedene Tagebuch-Formen. Das zeigen die Beispiele auf den folgenden Seiten.

Vielleicht denkst du: «Tagebuch, alle Tage aufschreiben, was passiert ist, nein danke, nichts für mich! Das ist ja fast wie in der Schule!» Lies bitte trotzdem weiter.
Hast du dir soeben mit verbissener Miene die Vorwürfe deiner Mutter angehört? Wollte niemand so recht der begeisterten Schilderung deiner Velotour zuhören? Oder hast du vielleicht Liebeskummer und magst mit gar niemandem darüber sprechen? Für solche Fälle ist das Tagebuch ein hilfreiches Mittel. Du weisst nicht so recht, wie man das macht? Oder meinst vielleicht, das sei nur etwas für überspannte Mädchen? Oder nur für besonders Sprachbegabte? Keine Spur!

Nirgends bist du so frei wie beim Tagebuchschreiben. Du kannst deinen Gefühlen freien Lauf lassen. Nur dich geht es an. Niemand braucht wegen deinen Schreibfehlern oder deiner Schrift zu meckern. Du kannst schreiben, was und wie du willst, zum Beispiel:

Äussere Ereignisse festhalten: Geburtstagsfeste, den Schultag beim neuen Lehrer, Ferienerlebnisse, illustriert mit gepressten Pflanzen, Eintrittskarten, Skizzen, Fotos…
Beobachtungen, Daten, Anleitungen notieren: Vielleicht schreibst du einmal das Wetter während einer Woche auf. Oder du hältst die Auftrittsstationen deiner Lieblingsmusikgruppe fest, oder sammelst Dessertrezepte, oder, oder…
Innere Ereignisse, Gefühle, formulieren: Über das Aufschreiben der äusseren Ereignisse kommst du mit der Zeit zu den Geschehnissen in deinem Innern, zu deinen Gefühlen. Im Umgang mit deinen Freunden, Eltern, Lehrern musst du dich ja oft zusammennehmen. Musst lächeln, wenn du lieber heulen würdest. Du kannst dich vielleicht gar nicht so zeigen, wie du eigentlich bist. Das Tagebuch hilft dir, dich kennenzulernen.

Durchs Tagebuchschreiben wird dir bewusst, was du vorher vielleicht nur unklar empfunden hast. Es ist fast wie beim Fotografieren: Wenn man das Objektiv scharf einstellt, wird das Verschwommene zum erkennbaren Bild. Es ist auch später interessant nachzulesen, worüber man mit 12, 13,14… gelacht, geweint, sich geärgert hat. Mit Staunen entdeckst du dann vielleicht, dass du dich gar nicht sehr verändert oder in gewissen Dingen eine Menge dazugelernt hast. Auf gar keinen Fall solltest du darum dein Tagebuch beim Aufräumen oder Zügeln wegwerfen: ein Stück ganz persönliche Erinnerung ginge verloren. Verstau das Tagebuch lieber irgendwo tief im Schrank, wenn du es nicht mehr sehen magst.

Übrigens: berühmte Künstler schworen aufs Tagebuchschreiben (Dostojewski, Thomas Mann, Kafka, Mozart). Sie fanden, dass die Beschäftigung mit sich selber für ihr künstlerisches Schaffen anregend und bereichernd sei.

Vielen Menschen half das Tagebuchschreiben in einer besonders schwierigen Situation ihres Lebens. Für Anne Frank, das holländisch-jüdsche Mädchen, das während des 2. Weltkrieges mit seinen Eltern in einem Versteck lebte, war ihr Tagebuch wie eine liebe Freundin, die sie Kitty nannte.

Die Quäker, eine religiöse Gemeinschaft, brauchten schon im 17. Jahrhundert ihre Tagebücher als eine Art Gewissenskontrolle. Sie schrieben haargenau auf, was sie den Tag über gemacht hatten, und fragten sich dabei, was recht oder unrecht gewesen sei.

In Amerika wird seit etwa zehn Jahren das «intensive Tagebuchschreiben» von einem bekannten Psychologen (Ira Progoff) als Hilfe gegen Einsamkeit und Angst benützt. Nach seinen Anleitungen schreiben Männer und Frauen zusammen an einem freien Wochenende ihre Gefühle und Erinnerungen auf. Durch das Schreiben sollen sie ihrem eigenen Lebensplan auf die Spur kommen.

Inspiration

Feriennotizen: Wie war das jetzt noch? Wann war das jetzt noch? In den Sommerferien oder in den Herbstferien? Vor einem Jahr oder vor zwei? Man vergisst schnell. Was heute eine lustige aufregende Ferienwoche mit vielen kleinen Erlebnissen ist, kann im Gedächtnis bald nur noch ein blasses Bild sein. Ausser: Man schreibt ins Tagebuch. Wenn man eine weite Reise gemacht hat, ist es schade, davon keine Notizen zu haben. Und wenn man in den Ferien zu Hause bleibt, lohnt es sich genauso, dies und das aufzuschreiben. Sonst schwimmt die Ferienerinnerung ganz schnell davon. So sieht das Ferienbuch der 11jährigen Simone aus:

Meilensteine: Welche Menschen sind für dich von Bedeutung gewesen? Welche sind es immer noch? Welches Buch hat dich stark beeindruckt, vielleicht sogar beeinflusst? Wen magst du, wen magst du nicht? Wann hast du mit deinem Hobby, deiner Lieblingsbeschäftigung angefangen? Hast du Pläne für die Zukunft?
Versuch das eine oder andere festzuhalten und dir klarzuwerden, was gut für dich war/ist, was nicht – so wie der 15jährige Bernhard:

Stimmungen und Tagträume: Im Tagebuch kannst, darfst, sollst du alles unterbringen, was du fühlst, was du dir hoffst, was du träumst. Ob du dich als Weltraumfahrer oder als Popsängerin siehst, als Held oder als kleine Maus: Schreib ohne Hemmungen. Niemand wird dich auslachen, den Kopf schütteln, «wenn und aber» sagen… Dein Tagebuch gehört nur dir. Sag es zuhause deutlich, wenn du nicht willst, dass man darin liest. Daran müssen sich alle halten, auch die Eltern. Natürlich kannst du dein Tagebuch auch verstecken.
Ein Blick ins Tagebuch des 14jährigen Eric:

Momentaufnahme: Stell dir dich vor – mit geschlossenen Augen – wo siehst du dich? Wo bist du in deiner Vorstellung? In der Schule über einer Rechnungsaufgabe? In den Sommerferien an einem Bach? Unterwegs, um jemanden zu besuchen? Wichtig: denk nicht lange nach – schreib auf, was du gerade siehst und spürst. So sah sich der 11jährige Moritz:

Erinnerungen: Es geht nicht darum, einen genauen Lebenslauf von deiner Geburt bis zu deinem letzten Geburtstag aufzuzeichnen. Du kannst aus deiner Erinnerung kurze Szenen aufschreiben, die für dich von Bedeutung waren. Vielleicht auch Momente, wo du dich gar nicht so super benommen hast? Bemüh dich nicht, der Reihe nach zu erzählen. Schreib einfach in Stichworten, wie es dir gerade in den Sinn kommt – so wie die 13jährige Annette:

Gespräche: das ist ein besonders anregendes, aber nicht ganz einfaches Tagebuchthema. Auf dem Papier versuchst du, mit einem (einigen) dir wichtigen Menschen ins Gespräch zu kommen, einen Dialog zu führen. Du schreibst also sozusagen ein Theaterstück für zwei Personen. Dabei bist du gezwungen, dich richtig in deinen «Gesprächspartner» zu versetzen, ihn zu Wort kommen zu lassen.
Vielleicht versuchst du es einmal mit einem Freund oder einem Lehrer oder einem Mitglied der Familie… mit dem du nicht so gut zurechtkommst. Beim Schreiben und beim Wiederlesen wird dir manches klar über dein Verhalten und das des «Gesprächspartners».
