ENDLICH kommt wieder mal was anständiges in die Kinos. Nebst Cloverfield habe ich gerade die Trailer zu „National Treasure: Book Of Secrets“ angeschaut.

1996 produzierte Jerry Bruckheimer „The Rock“ – welcher meiner Meinung nach einzige gebührende Kandidat für die Antwort auf die Frage: „Was ist ein Film?“ überhaupt ist.
Das Duo Cage/Connery im Szenario „Laborratte mit Gefängnisinsasse gegen eine Handvoll Terroristen“ ist einfach extrem Amüsant. Viel Humor, Action, Geheimdienste, Sondereinheiten, historische Orte und viel Kawumm; untermalt mit dem besten Soundtrack aller Zeiten – das macht’s eben aus. So muss ein Film aussehen.

Ob The Rock jemals einen Nachfolger haben wird?
Nicht direkt. Aber fast 😉
Fehlt nur noch Sean Connery…

Es ist wieder ein heisser Film am Start: Cloverfield.

Soweit ich das gemäss Trailer beurteilen kann, sieht es ganz nach einer Mischung von „Amerika wird angegriffen“ und „Blair Witch Project“ aus. Aber genial gemacht!
Dabei ist die Story so simpel: Irgend ein Monster greift Amerika an. Der ganze Film wird aber mit Handykameras und Camcordern der Protagonisten erzählt und spielt im Jahre… 2008! Oder genauer gesagt am 18.1.2008, dem offiziellen Kinostart.

In den USA hat ein Mann eine kurze Film-Aufnahme des Kennedy-Autos kurz vor dem Mord einem Museum vermacht. Darauf erkennt man, dass Kennedy im Nacken eine Falte im Jacket hatte. Was wiederum den komischen Pfad der Gewehrkugel erklären würde. Der Mord ist aber hier nicht drauf.

Bei dem Tempo, wo neue Filme erscheinen, denke ich manchmal, dass das Fass der Geschichten bald leergeschöpft sein wird. Ja, was will man denn noch gross verfilmen, neben all den Anti-Terror-, Helden- und Weltverschwörungsfilmen, billigen Komödien und Filmen mit so hingeklatschten Stories?

Shawn Levy beweist mit „Nachts im Museum“, dass auch noch in heutiger Zeit grossartige Geschichten grossartig verfilmt werden können.

Mich jedenfalls hat „Nachts im Museum“ voll überzeugt. Endlich wieder eine Komödie mit Niveau. Das lässt sich ein Nachtwächter wohl nicht träumen, was in einem Museum so alles ausgestellt ist – und auf geheimnisvolle Weise zum Leben erwacht…
