Aus der Glashalle kommt plötzlich etwas auf mich zugerollt. Es ist ein Boot auf Rädern.

„Longneck, longneck – steig ein!“ ruft jemand aus unserem Hackerspace, während sein Namensvetter das Boot mit seinen fünf Insassen von hinten anschiebt. ‚Ok, dieses Ereignis wird hier nur einmal passieren und dann nie wieder‘ denke ich mir. Egal wie müde ich bin – das kann ich mir nicht entgehenlassen! Und ich steige ein. „Wohin fahrt ihr?“ „Sieht es so aus, als ob wir einen Plan hätten?“ bekam ich zur Antwort. Wir werden auf Gutdünken durchs Gelände gefahren. Woah, so toll! Ich darf zuvorderst vorne Platz nehmen und werde gefahren. Jetzt bin ich gespannt, wohin die Reise geht.

Begleitet von dem Appell „Hacken als eine Denkweise“ tauchen die Zuschauer zusammen mit dem Filmemacher in ein dokumentarisches Abenteuerspiel ein und erkunden bei den Veranstaltungen des Chaos Computer Clubs die Welt der digitalen Gemeinschaften; eine realistische Reflexion des virtuellen Spektrums. Zusammen mit dem Filmemacher und dem Slogan „Use Hacking as a mindset“ tauchen wir in ein dokumentarisches Abenteuerspiel ein und erkunden die Welt der Komputerfrieks, wie sie sich 1981 auf der Gründungsversammlung des Chaos Computer Clubs nannten. Wir stoßen auf eine offene, freiheitliche Gesellschaft. Die Ereignisse des CCC sind eine Art utopische reale Reflexion des virtuellen Spektrums. Wir begegnen Engeln, Aktivisten, Robotern, Programmierern und Machern. Wir lernen, was ein Hack ist, warum Lockpicking wichtig sein kann, wie ein Mobilfunksystem funktioniert. Wir tauchen in das Spiel ein und werden Teil der Gemeinschaft, die ebenso integrativ wie anspruchsvoll ist. Noch außerhalb dieses Kollektivs sind die Herausforderungen in einer Zeit, in der politische Gewissheiten und Institutionen zunehmend erodieren, enorm. Modelle der Regierungsführung, Wirtschaft, Sozialordnung, Technologie und Wissenschaft werden rund um die Uhr in Frage gestellt. Mit den Verhaltensregeln des Internets werden nationale Gesetze aufgehoben und in globale Strukturen umgewandelt. Während das weltweite Netz strukturell tatsächlich eine radikale Erneuerung der Demokratie ermöglichen würde, indem es sie von der Repräsentation zur Partizipation verändert, driften immer mehr Staaten in der politischen Realität zu autoritären Gesellschaften hin. Im Laufe dieses Prozesses wurde unbemerkt die größte Überwachungsmaschine der Menschheitsgeschichte geschaffen. Wir sehen, wie die Hackerkultur diesen Herausforderungen begegnet und welche inneren Widersprüche ihr begegnen. Wir lernen, dass unser Leben nicht von allgemeinen, gegebenen Wahrheiten bestimmt wird, sondern tatsächlich durch die Art und Weise, wie wir arbeiten, uns entwickeln, leiden oder träumen. Die Ereignisse des CCC werden zu einer möglichen Blaupause des sozialen Umbruchs. Selbstorganisation, Meinungsfreiheit und kritische Diskussion verschmelzen in einem bunten, polyphonen Chor abseits von sozialen Normen und kapitalistischen Zwängen: „Seid ausgezeichnet zueinander!“

Eben war doch grad noch Feuerfestival. Und jetzt ist einfach das Boom. Ich kann es noch gar nicht so recht realisieren, als ich in der Nacht mein Zelt am Waldhang in Portugal aufschlage, während in Signau die Brandnacht in vollem Gange ist. „Zwei Festivals hintereinander, das wird bestimmt anstrengend“, habe ich gedacht. Und ja, die ersten Nächte war ich nie länger als bis Mitternacht auf den Beinen. Bis zu der Nacht, wo ich auf Langzeitbelichtungsjagd ging. „Drei Uhr morgens, nur noch dieses Gebiet ablichten.“ Am nächsten Tag stehe ich um 10 Uhr auf der Matte, hellwach, und die Energie hält den ganzen Tag. Was ist passiert? So wach und konzentriert war ich schon lange nicht mehr. Es ist fast, als hätte mir das Festival Energie gegeben. Wars das feine Essen? Das die ganze Zeit an der Sonne sein?

Diese Ausgabe war ein Genussboom. Es gab keine besonderen Tiefs oder Hochs, wie ichs sonst so von diesem Festival gewohnt bin. Ich habe auf der Anreise im Bus ein paar sehr liebe Menschen kennengelernt, aus Olten. Mit ihnen habe ich die ganze Woche verbracht. Selbst als ich mich amigs losgerissen habe, um nach Abenteuern zu suchen und mystische Erlebnisse zu provozieren – die Synchronizität hat mich immer wieder zurück zu ihnen gebracht. „Du ruhst dich jetzt aus.“ sagt das Schicksal zu mir. „Zwei intensive Festivals hintereinander hättest du sowieso nicht verkraftet.“ Ja dann, gut zu wissen. So kann ich die kommenden Booms gelassen angehen und weiss, dass sich die Magie an einem beliebigen Festival entladen wird, ich muss nicht jedes Jahr dahin. Dieses Jahr gab es die magischen Momente vor allem am Feuerfestival.
