Ich werde immer wieder gefragt, was soll ich tun, was kann ich machen, wie kann ich die kriminelle Elite und ihren Plan für die NWO aufhalten? Das hat eine schöne Lawine losgetreten, damals, als ich diesen Artikel über das Tagebuchschreiben im Spick las. Ein Feuer entzündet hat er in mir. Nachdem ich diese wunderbar illustrierten Beispieltagebücher gesehen hatte, wusste ich einfach: „Ey, sowas brauch ich auch.“

So habe ich ein, zwei analoge Tagebüchlein vollgeschrieben. Dann für ein paar Jahre die Motivation verloren.
Dann wieder angefangen.
Und wieder ist es versandet.

Als ich dann aber im 2. Lehrjahr ein Webtagebuch begonnen hatte, kam ich nicht mehr davon los. Es sollte das Forum ablösen, das uns damals als Diskussionsplattform diente. Beiträge sollten chronologisch angeordnet werden, nicht mehr nach «Threads» – so dass jeder jeden neuen Beitrag sieht. Mehr an eine Zeitung angelehnt, mit dem Charme einer Schülerzeitung, wo jeder mitmachen konnte; inspiriert vom Typographiekurs der vorherigen Schule, abgeschaut von der Stadtzeitung. Serifenlose Titel, Fliesstext mit Serifen, Autor, Ort und Datum sollen nicht fehlen. So sah der erste Entwurf vom Scratchbook aus:

Ich war damals schampar fasziniert davon, wie PHP-Schleifen HTML-Code dynamisch erzeugen konnten. Wow!
Das alles entstand auf meinem Lehrlingsrechner, gstlehrpoww – GruppenSTationLEHRlingePrOzesseWarenWirtschaft. Schon damals habe ich darüber nachgedacht, das verteilte Systeme (technisch oder gesellschaftlich) eine tolle Sache sind. Schon damals habe ich Texte stehlen für eine gute Sache befunden. Schon damals hatte ich Banner geschaltet: Boykottiert die Musikindustrie! Um Informatik, Freizeit und Meinung soll es sich drehen. Und mit diesen beiden Zeichen hat alles angefangen:

So fängt PHP Code an. Und so fing auch meine Programmiererlaufbahn an. Ein antikes Stück Code. Aber jeder fängt mal an.
Ich wollte eine verteilte Wissensdatenbank für Lehrlinge erstellen; damit wir unsere Arbeitsbücher elektronisch pflegen und als PDF-Download ziehen können. Aber daraus wurde nichts. Es blieb beim Tagebuch.

Experimentell war das schon immer. Entwickelt wurde direkt auf dem Server; ich blendete eine «Achtung wackelig» Meldung ein; Google macht das ja auch so (aka Beta). Mein Mobiltelefon konnte plötzlich Fotos an eine E-Mail Adresse schicken; und Schwupps, hatte ich auch gleich eine Schnittstelle dafür gebaut; die Snapshots waren geboren. Diese und viel anderer technischer Schnickschnack zierten unser liebgewonnenes Kritzelbuch.
Irgendwann habe ich dann das ganze auf WordPress gezügelt. Die Inhalte wurden plötzlich wichtiger als die Technik. Das Experiment läuft weiter. Weniger technisch, mehr textlich. Die Fremdbeiträge und Kommentare nahmen ab. Ich mache weiter. Tagebuch zum mitlesen. Als psychologisches Dampfablass-Ventil. Und als Sendestation im grossen, weiten Internet, um Bewusstsein zu schaffen. Bewusstsein für Dinge, die manche nicht merken. Dinge, die untergehen. Dinge, die hinterfragt und herausgefordert werden wollen.
Natürlich eignet es sich auch prima als Archiv für Texte. Ein Sammelsurium von tollen Dingen aus dem Internet, aus der Welt. Oder Erlebnissen, die als Erinnerung aufbewahrt werden. So wie die Tagebuchserie über das Boom-Festival.

Die Menschen gehen ans Boom, und finden im Internet wieder zusammen. So bekam ich folgende wunderbare Rückmeldung; und jetzt, wo ich die Boom-Tagebucheinträge und den Spick-Artikel übers Tagebuchschreiben nebeneinander lege, wird mir klar: Ich habe ein Tagebuch.

It had all components I find great in a diary and it kept me in excited reading it until the end. People don’t do this often, they just share photos in facebook and that’s that! Most wont bother, unless they have sheer pleasure in writing. Doing it means self-development, it is some sort of labor work, like making a dream diary (I do one, but written by hand!). Nein – diese fuckingidiotengopferdammiarschlochhurensohnfacebook-Scheisse vernichtet Tagebücher!! Sie lässt die Leute nicht mehr über sich selbst nachdenken und beschäftigt sie mit sinnlosem Genichtsnutz. Wenn man sie fragt, was sie eigentlich so tun die ganze Zeit – „hmm, eigentlich nichts. Gefällt mir.“

Kein Tagebuch schreiben. Lieber schnell huschhusch ein Foto in dieses Fickbuch hochladen, teilen mit allen, gefällt mir, bumm ist die Luft duss. Wo bleibt der Tiefgang?

In der Welt da draussen. Wo es nur nach Quartalsabschlüssen tönt. Da frage ich mich oft, was das, was ich tue, für einen Wert hat. Jetzt habe ich eine Rückmeldung von einem Stranger erhalten. Tagebuchschreiben hat etwas mit Persönlichkeitsentwicklung zu tun.

These diaries are an attempt to map the unchartered regions that experience has given rise to in one’s life in transformative moments, describing the atmosphere and the setting, as well as the interactive details around one’s perceptions when such ‚initiations‘ and profound insights are taking place. These moments when the „peeling“ of the ’sensory deprivation layers‘ of current reality occurs, unblock the wall of „LIFE“ that had been formerly restricted. I know this makes sense to you because we see the world in similar ways. Beautiful.

Jetzt geht mir ein Licht auf. Tagebücher sind ganz individuelle, emotionale Artefakte des Menschen. Und ich tue das für mich. Für mich – allein. Ob das die Welt verändert, weiss ich nicht. Ich mach einfach mal. Mal schauen, was dann explodiert.
Es gibt hier keine Werbung. Und keine Google Analytics und so Gugus. Sondern Netzkultur. Erlebnisse. Experimente. Tiefgang. Aufmüpfig losrasseln und Rebellentum.

Ich wünschte mir mehr davon.

Fürs Tagebuchschreiben braucht man kein extra Schreiblustiger oder Schreibgewaltiger zu sein. Tagebuchschreiben heisst auch nicht unbedingt: jeden Tag schreiben. Manchmal hat man (sich) viel zu sagen, manchmal ist Funkstille im Kopf. Manchmal ist einem gar nicht zum Schreiben zumute. Doch oft lohnt es sich, einen Anlauf zu nehmen und etwas zu Papier zu bringen, um es «loszuwerden».

Die leeren Blätter nehmen einfach alles auf, was dich beschäftigt, sei das nun deine Zukunft, ein böser Traum, ein Zaubertrick, ein Streit… Auf dem Papier darfst du mit deinen Bleistiftzähnen so richtig zubeissen, darfst ein ganz Garstiger sein oder ein ganz Listiger. Wenn du das Tage­buch dann wieder weglegst, bist du vielleicht ein erstaunlich Friedfertiger, und wer weiss, mit der Zeit wird aus dir sogar ein Schreibsüchtiger.

Heute ist mein Lieblingstag. Das Thema ist Expanded Consciousness. Die Liminal Village ist der Ort, wo Workshops und vor allem Vorträge stattfinden. Glücklicherweise befindet sich dieses grosse Zelt am nächsten zum Zeltplatz, so dass ich mit meinen angeschlagenen Füssen nicht weit laufen muss. Ausgerüstet mit Notizbuch, Fotokamera und MP3-Recorder setze ich mich hin. Noch sind nicht viele Leute da; viele kommen auch hierher wegen des Schattens, und um sich auszuruhen. 43 Jahre nach dem legendären Woodstock-Festival scheinen die Hippies in der Versenkung verschwunden. Aber es gibt sie noch, die bunte Gegenkultur. In Portugal halten sie derzeit vom 28. Juli – 4. August bei psychedelischer Musik und fern der Öffentlichkeit ein Gipfeltreffen ab.

Die Region Beira Interior im Zentralosten von Portugal ist das, was man gemeinhin als Einöde bezeichnet. «Das ist das Ende der Welt, keine Arbeit, keine Menschen, nichts», klagt lautstark ein nicht mehr ganz nüchterner Rentner in der Kneipe am sonst verlassenen Hauptplatz der Gemeinde Idanha-a-Nova. Auf der Suche nach einer Zukunft flieht die Jugend nach Lissabon und ins Ausland, auf den Straßen trifft man vorwiegend Ältere. Alle zwei Jahre aber, pünktlich zum Vollmond im August, fallen zigtausende exotisch gekleidete Menschen in die 10.000-Seelen-Gemeinde ein. Das «Boom-Festival», wichtigste Trance-Musik-Veranstaltung Europas, ist auch Gipfeltreffen der zeitgenössischen Hippies aus aller Welt.

«Boom ist das Highlight des Festivalkalenders und meine spirituelle Heimat, alle lächeln hier nur immerzu», schwärmt der in London lebende südafrikanische DJ Shane Gobi nach seinem Auftritt bei dem seit 1997 stattfindenden Festival. Hin und weg sind auch die Besucher. «Boom ist ein Spielplatz, auf dem man das innere Kind in sich freilassen kann», erklärt die Inderin Alia. Der 22-jährige Klaus aus Bremen ringt auf die Frage nach der Faszination am Event nach Worten. «Ich sage es so: Eintritt kostet 150 Euro, das ist für einen Studenten wie mich sehr viel Kohle. Aber ich würde auch 1500 zahlen.»

Das Festival wurde zwar als Psy-Trance-Veranstaltung geboren, öffnete sich aber im Laufe der Jahre nicht nur anderen Underground-Musikrichtungen, sondern auch vielen anderen Bereichen der Künste. Heutzutage reicht die Palette von Malerei und Graffiti über Theater, Video und Kino bis hin zum Skulpturen- und Landschaftsbau. Es gibt Workshops, Konferenzen, Ausstellungen, Beratungszentren und «Healing areas» mit Yoga, Massage, Meditation. «Das ist alternative Kultur», erklärt Mitorganisator und Pressemann Artur Mendes. Mehr als 400 Künstler nehmen teil, Künstler wie Techno-Mann Marcel Dettmann (43) vom Berliner Club «Berghain».

Öko-Toiletten und Plastik-Verbot

Damit aber nicht genug. Die «interkulturelle, transgenerationelle und multidisziplinare» Biennale gilt als eines der ökologischsten Musikfestivals der Welt. «Beim Entertainment geht es nicht nur um Spaß, es geht auch darum, Lösungen für die Menschen zu finden», teilt Mendes auf der Festival-Internetseite mit. In den Monaten vor dem Fest wurde an einem Stausee mitten im Nichts 280 Kilometer nordöstlich von Lissabon an der Grenze zu Spanien eine wahre Alternativ-Stadt aus dem Boden gestampft. Ein «psychedelic Village», das sich als «autonome Zone» versteht. Dazu wurden Materialien früherer Boom-Ausgaben recycelt, aber auch von Mainstream-Shows wie «Rock in Rio».

Es gibt modernste Biokompost-Toiletten aus Schweden, dafür ist Plastik tabu. Wind- und Solarenergie nehmen immer mehr Platz ein. Dieses Jahr wurde außerdem Biotechnologie eingesetzt, um das benutzte Trinkwasser mit Hilfe von Wasserpflanzen wieder zu reinigen. Brasilianische Experten des Ökoinstitus Ipec bringen ihr Wissen in Sachen der sogenannten Permakultur ein, bei der die Planung der Lebensräume von ethisch basierten Leitsätzen und Prinzipien bestimmt wird. Amerikaner bauen mit Bambus stabil und ökologisch. «Wir haben die wohl größte Biokonstruktionsschau Europas», behauptet Mendes.

Neben den vier Tanzflächen gibt es auf dem riesigen Areal auch Restaurants, Bars und Kinderkrippen, Farben sprühende psychedelische Skulpturen und Installationen. Nirgendwo sind dagegen die sonst allgegenwärtigen Logos der Handy-, Fast-Food- oder Getränkefirmen zu sehen. «Unabhängigkeit ja, Marketing nein», lautet das Motto der Organisatoren. Der Kartenverkauf und sowie die Gastronomie bringen ohnehin genug Geld ein, um die Kosten zu decken und einen Gewinn zu erwirtschaften. Werbung muss und will die Organisationsfirma «Good Mood», die in 45 Ländern 101 «Botschafter» hat, nicht machen.

Schwarzgekleidete Witwen müssen sich an Rastamähnen gewöhnen

«Wir wollen keine überlaufene Mainstream-Veranstaltung werden», behaupten die medienscheuen Partner. Deshalb sei die Teilnehmerzahl des zusammen mit dem «After-Boom» im benachbarten Sao Giao bis Montag laufenden Events auf 26.000 begrenzt worden. Die Polizei versichert derweil, zum Boom seien diesmal 50.000 Menschen gekommen. Darunter gibt es Alt-Hippies, die schon mal auf mehr als 60 oder 70 Frühlinge zurückblicken, aber auch viele Familien mit Kleinkindern.

Die Besucher und Künstler aus mehr als 60 Ländern laufen in der trockenen, staubigen und brütend heißen Beira in Birkenstock-Sandalen und barfuß herum, tragen oft Rastamähnen, Aladinhosen, Batik und ab zu auch mal kunterbunte Körperbemalungen. Die erzkonservativen Bewohner Idanhas, darunter die vielen ganz in schwarz gekleideten Witwen, mussten sich zuerst an die Besucher gewöhnen. «Das waren am Anfang Außerirdische für mich», räumt die 75-jährige Maria ein. Wieso das ganz schnell anders wurde, erklärt ein Wirt: «Die haben viel Geld.»

Die wirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen des Festivals seien für die Stadt sehr stark, sagt Idanhas Vize-Bürgermeister Armindo Jacinto. «Die Verbindung aus den fortschrittlichsten Maßnahmen zur ökologischen Nachhaltigkeit, den multikulturellen Präsentationen und den wirtschaftlichen Faktoren machen Boom für uns zu einer einzigartigen Chance», betont Jacinto. Man wolle in Zusammenarbeit mit «Good Mood» unter anderem ein Hotel aus umweltfreundlichen Materialien wie Stroh bauen, Kurse über Nachhaltigkeit anbieten, öffentliche Komposttoiletten aufstellen und Ökoprodukte produzieren, die man auch im Ausland der Entertainment-Branche anbieten werde.

«Neben Trance-Freaks ziehen solche Festivals auch die modernen Hippies an», stellt DJ Jahbo fest, dessen Eltern «Woodstock-Kinder» sind. Es sei in der heutigen Welt wichtig, «anders» zu sein. «Angst habe ich vor dem Normalsein», sagt der 29-jährige Däne. Dass zur Bewusstseinserweiterung auch der Konsum vor allem synthetischer Drogen gehört, ist bei Trance-Fans – «Freigeister» nennen sich die «Boomies» – selbstverständlich. Entgegen den Befürchtungen hielten sich die Probleme jedoch in Grenzen. Nur wenige Menschen wurden wegen Drogenhandels festgenommen.
