Video mapping nennt sich die Technik, bei der Gebäude und Objekte von einem Beamer angestrahlt und dabei die physischen Strukturen berücksichtigt werden. Kanten fangen an zu glühen, geschlossene Augen und Türen öffnen sich, Tätowierungen entstehen.

„Meine Inspiration kommt von innen. Es sind die Phasen oder visuellen Manifestationen meiner Reise als Mensch, in meiner Entwicklung und meinem Heilungsprozess. Ich versuche, die Bilder, die tief dort drin verborgen sind, sichtbar zu machen und in eine visuelle Form zu bringen. Meine Selbst-Entwicklung durch Innenschau -- das ist meine Inspiration.“ erzählt uns der Künstler. „Es ist eine gemeinschaftliche Kunstform. Da stehen ganze Teams dahinter; niemand kann das alleine machen. Wir haben 8 VJs, und vier bis fünf digitale Animatoren.“ DJ ist der Disc Jockey, VJ ist der Visual Jockey.

Wie wirds gemacht?

Die Bühne wird in Cinema 4D nachgebaut, damit man die Animationen passgenau darauf abstimmen kann. 3D Studio Max und After Effects kommen ebenfalls zum Einsatz für die Montage.

Danach wird ein 3000 Pixel breites Video gerendert, welches dann auf mehrere Beamer mittels Multi-Monitor Setup verteilt wird und die Strukturen zum Leben erweckt.

Ein VJ ist wie ein Lichtmensch; er muss voll ins Geschehen involviert sein, um auf die Energie des Publikums reagieren zu können. Wie bei der Lichtgestaltung mit Scheinwerfern, einfach mit Video und Projektionen.

Das ganze funktioniert auch mit Menschen. Hier wird eine Struktur aufs Gesicht projiziert…

Und hier erwachen Tätowierungen auf der Haut zum Leben.

Geplant ist, dass sich Projektionen auf Menschen projizieren lassen, während sie sie sich bewegen. Die Erkennung basiert mit Hilfe von Tiefensensoren wie dem Kinect und wird in Echtzeit berechnet.

Visuell dürfen wir in Zukunft noch einiges erwarten.
