Kürzlich bin ich über einen Ego-Shooter gestolpert der auf die Quake 1 Engine (welche seit einigen Jahren Open Source ist) aufbaut und eine echte Perle in der sonst so dürftigen Open-Source Gamer Szene zu sein scheint. Das besondere daran: Das Entwicklerteam hatte die Motivation und das Durchhaltevermögen, um jahrelang daran zu arbeiten und gaben nicht wie viele andere nach einigen Monaten schon wieder auf. Gross Werbung hatten sie nie darüber gemacht, denn ihnen wars wichtiger den Shooter erst mal auf das Quake 3 Niveau zu bringen, bevor gross herumposaunt wird – was mir schon mal sympathisch ist. Mittlerweile sind sie soweit, dass der Shooter wirklich ausgereift ist. Sprich: Ihre modifizierte Quake 1 Engine ist mittlerweile gleichauf mit der Quake 3 Engine! Und trotzdem kann man mit der modifizierten Quake 1 Engine noch das Original Quake (von 1996) ohne Kompromisse gamen!

Most modern soda machines have little computers in them. The tiny RED LCD usually displays the data. The computer can be controlled by using certain buttons on the soda machine in different combinations. This can be used to check the temperature, see the amount of money (load and dump), and dump certain sodas. Will usually only work on newer machines that look like: (-> see pic).
