Was passiert, wenn man den Quake 1 Sourcecode unter der GPL ins Netz stellt? Genau, dann kommen ganz viele Fans und polieren den Code kräftig auf. So wie im vorherigen Beitrag… Aber das ist noch nicht alles. Wie ist es wohl, wenn man die Quake 1 Engine mit Schatteneffekten wie Doom 3 ausstattet? Das kann sich sehen lassen:

Jawohl, das ist das Original Quake 1, aber kräftig aufpoliert! (Hat auch entsprechende Systemanforderungen…)

Find ich übrigens cool von Id-Software, dass sie den Source-Code jeder Quake Engine nach zwei Jahren als OpenSource frei verfügbar machen. Mittlerweile ist bereits der Quake III Source verfügbar.
