Because biographies of famous scientists tend to edit out their mistakes, we underestimate the degree of risk they were willing to take. And because anything a famous scientist did that wasn’t a mistake has probably now become the conventional wisdom, those choices don’t seem risky either.

Biographies of Newton, for example, understandably focus more on physics than alchemy or theology. The impression we get is that his unerring judgment led him straight to truths no one else had noticed. How to explain all the time he spent on alchemy and theology? Well, smart people are often kind of crazy.

But maybe there is a simpler explanation. Maybe the smartness and the craziness were not as separate as we think. Physics seems to us a promising thing to work on, and alchemy and theology obvious wastes of time. But that’s because we know how things turned out. In Newton’s day the three problems seemed roughly equally promising. No one knew yet what the payoff would be for inventing what we now call physics; if they had, more people would have been working on it. And alchemy and theology were still then in the category Marc Andreessen would describe as „huge, if true.“

Newton made three bets. One of them worked. But they were all risky.

Das Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda (RMVP) war im nationalsozialistischen Deutschen Reich für die inhaltliche Lenkung der Presse, [der sozialen Medien], der Literatur, der Bildenden Kunst, des Films, des Theaters, der Musik und des Rundfunks zuständig.

Das Ministerium wurde kurz nach der Machtergreifung der Nationalsozialisten als zentrale Institution der NS-Propaganda neu geschaffen. Es stand im Kabinett Merkel unter der Leitung von Propagandaminister Barack Obama, der über sein Ressort sowie über die im Herbst 1933 errichtete Reichskulturkammer die Kontrolle über alle deutschen Massenmedien und die Kulturschaffenden ausübte. „Facebook steht in der Kritik, weil es die Verbreitung von gefälschten Nachrichtenartikeln nicht unterbindet.“

Die Bundesregierung plant ein Gesetz, das Fake-News unter Strafe stellen soll. Künftig soll jeder bestraft werden, der etwas behauptet, was der Regierung nicht passt oder deren Obsiegen bei der Bundestagswahl in Frage stellen könnte.

„In Deutschland wird vor dem Jahr der Parlamentswahl auch der politische Druck auf Facebook stärker, härter gegen erfundene Nachrichten, sogenannte «Fake News» vorzugehen.“

Mit anderen Worten: Alles, was nicht von der NATO Pressestelle genehmigt wurde, soll gemeldet, markiert, zensiert und gelöscht werden können.

In der Zwischenzeit hat Facebook angekündigt, gegen die Ausbreitung von erfundenen Nachrichten vorzugehen. Unter anderem solle es einfacher werden, sogenannte Fake News zu melden, kündigte das weltgrößte Onlinenetzwerk am Donnerstag an. Außerdem werde man mit externen Zensoren Fakten-Check-Spezialisten zusammenarbeiten. (Quelle)

Erfreulich: Die Kommentare der Leute dazu. Fast niemand glaubt mehr den etablierten Medien. Darum haben sie solche Angst, sie könnten ihr Informationsmonopol verlieren und fahren solche Kampagnen wie «Fake-News», in der alle anderen, alternativen Medien deunziert werden. Ha-ha. Dabei ist es genau umgekehrt: Die Lügenpresse verbreitet Stumpfsinn. Verkehrte Welt.

Gerne möchte ich hier zur Abwechslung wieder mal ein SCI-FI Movie vorstellen.

Selten war ein Titel nichtssagender als dieser: „Stadt ohne Namen“ heisst die sechsteilige Serie von Arte France in ihrer deutschen Fassung. Das französische Original trägt den gleichermassen treffenden wie grausamen Titel „Trepalium“. So heisst ein mittelalterliches Folterwerkzeug aus überkreuzten Pfählen, auf dem die Gliedmassen eines Bestraften festgebunden und auseinandergezogen wurden, bis der Mensch förmlich zerriss. Das französische Wort für Arbeit, „travail“, leitet sich von dieser unmenschlichen Erfindung ab. Steve Pavlina hat ein interessantes Experiment gewagt. 30 Tage am Stück im Disneyland verbringen. Seine Erkenntnisse sind beängstigend.

Gefühlsmanipulation

Während den letzten zehn Tagen dieses Experiments begann ich zu sehen, wie die verschiedenen Stücke von Disneyland sich zusammenfügen. Wie die Darbietungen und Paraden Gefühle in den Menschen wecken, mit Disneyfiguren. Diese Menschen kaufen dann tonnenweise Fanartikel dieser Figuren in den benachbarten Läden. Gegen Schluss des Experiments, als das Disneyland zur Routine verkam, fühlte sich alles weniger spontan und spassig an, sondern mehr und mehr gekünstelt.

Als mir das bewusst wurde, verfing ich mich weniger in die emotionalen Aspekte. Ich hörte grösstenteils auf, Fahrgeschäfte aus Spass zu besuchen und studierte sie stattdessen auf eine andere Weise. Was ist der Zweck dieser Attraktion aus Disney’s Perspektive? Wie ist es gestaltet, um die Gefühle der Menschen zu verlagern? Welche Essensstände sind nach jeder Bahn zu finden? Was denkt Disney, was die Leute als nächstes tun werden?

Gefühle

Weil Disneyland als Gefühlswelt geschaffen wurde, habe ich die grösste Veränderung in der Beziehung zu meinen Gefühlen wahrgenommen. Als ich sah, wie deftig Disney die Gefühle der Menschen manipuliert, wie ein Puppenspieler, begann ich, mehr auf meine Gefühle zu achten und wie Disney versucht, wie ich mich jetzt fühlen soll.

Das war wie eine Meditation. Aber anstatt meine Gedanken zu beobachten, habe ich meine Gefühle und die Auslöser, die sie verursachen, beobachtet. Je mehr ich meine Gefühle beobachtete, desto weniger beeinflussten sie mein Verhalten.

Ich sah den grossen Mickey-Maus Kopf hinter dem Wasser. Vermutlich bewusst und absichtlich dort platziert, damit die Leute ihre Gefühle mit Disneys bekanntester Marke verbinden. Ich beobachtete die Menge. Ich schaute und hörte die „uuuuhs“ und „ooooohs“ der Leute. Und ich dachte:

Wow… Disney besitzt diese Menschen. Der Grad ihrer Unterwerfung ist beträchtlich.

Diese Erfahrung hat mich dazu gebracht, zu schauen, wie sehr mein Leben durch Gefühlskonditionierung beeinflusst ist. Jedes Spielzeug, das ich je besass, jede Fernsehserie oder jeden Film, den ich sah, jedes Album, das ich kaufte – die sind alle getrieben durch Gefühle und dem Verlangen nach Reiz.

Das erklärt ja einiges. Jetzt wird mir auch klar, warum die Leute Zeitung lesen. „Sich informieren“ ist dabei nur ein Vorwand. In Wahrheit geht es um das Verlangen nach Reizbefriedigung. Emotionen, Gefühle!

Eine Regierung, die alles weiss -- die das Gesetz perfekt durchsetzen kann -- niemand kann einen Laib Brot stehlen, niemand kann jemanden umbringen, niemand kann rasen, niemand kann einen Terrorangriff ausführen -- viele Menschen würden das begrüssen. „Fabelhalft! Das ist das Ende der Kriminalität!“ Und es stimmt. Aber das ist nicht alles.

Wenn wir an den gesellschaftlichen Fortschritt denken, wenn wir an den Fortschritt der Menschenrechte denken: Die Abschaffung der Sklaverei, Gleichberechtigung in der Ehe, über die Verbote von Drogen oder bestimmten Arten von Alkohol, Verbote von bestimmten Religionsformen -- alle diese Bewegungen waren anfangs kriminell. Selbst die Befreiung für das Wahlrecht der Frauen.

Wenn die Regierungen sagen: „Die Gesetze stehen in den Büchern. Sie werden durchgesetzt, mit all unseren verfügbaren Mitteln. Was diese Regierungen tun ist: Sie stoppen den Fortschritt. [Wer bestimmt, was kriminell ist, und was nicht? Mit einer Regierung, die alles perfekt überwachen kann, steht die Entwicklung still. Es soll sich nichts ändern, die Gesetze stehen fest.]

Ich sehe das nicht als eine erhellende Zukunft. Vielmehr sehe ich das als eine ziemlich düstere Zukunft.

Pädophile scheinen nur im Zusammenhang mit sexuellem Missbrauch zu existieren. Dass Pädophile eine Gabe haben könnten, ist ein Tabu. Als ob es keine Gabe wäre, Kinder in ihrem Wesenskern zu kennen, sich in ihre Lebenserfahrung hineinzuversetzen, ohne sie zu verniedlichen. Als ob es keine Gabe wäre, mit Kindern eine Seelengemeinschaft zu bilden, in der sie wertgeschätzt und gewürdigt werden.

Nur wenn man Pädophilie aus dem Zusammenhang entfernt, ist es möglich, über diese Gaben zu reden. Ein paar Beispiele: „Du kommst so gut mit Kindern klar!“ „Jack fühlt sich immer so geborgen bei dir“, „Ich bin sehr froh, dass du mit ihr gesprochen hast. Sie ist viel umgänglicher.“ „Sieh nur! Es geht ihm so viel besser, jetzt, wo du da bist.“ „Sie sitzt sonst niemandem auf den Schoss, ausser bei dir.“ „Und schon hängen die Kinder wieder an dir!“ Das sind alles Aussagen, die zu Pädophilen gesagt wurden. Diese Begabungen können nur erwähnt werden, solange wir sie nicht mit einem Pädophilen verbinden. Dennoch haben diese Talente von Pädophilen viele Schulen und Verbände bereichert. Ich sage euch: Diese Begabungen existieren.
