Gerne möchte ich hier zur Abwechslung wieder mal ein SCI-FI Movie vorstellen.
Selten war ein Titel nichtssagender als dieser: „Stadt ohne Namen“ heisst die sechsteilige Serie von Arte France in ihrer deutschen Fassung. Das französische Original trägt den gleichermassen treffenden wie grausamen Titel „Trepalium“. So heisst ein mittelalterliches Folterwerkzeug aus überkreuzten Pfählen, auf dem die Gliedmassen eines Bestraften festgebunden und auseinandergezogen wurden, bis der Mensch förmlich zerriss. Das französische Wort für Arbeit, „travail“, leitet sich von dieser unmenschlichen Erfindung ab. Und auch das deutsche Wort „Arbeit“ konnte im Mittelalter noch Strafe, Qual, Not, Mühsal und Streit bedeuten.
Würde durch Arbeit
Seit dreissig Jahren steht die Mauer. Wer nördlich von ihr geboren wurde, kennt nur in graublaues Licht getauchte Unwirklichkeit. Die Heimat der Zonenbewohner ist schmutzig und verwahrlost, die meisten hausen als Obdachlose unter Pappkartons, die Familien sind zerrüttet. Im Untergrund wirkt eine Rebellenorganisation, die den Arbeitsminister des Südens entführt hat und ein Jahr gefangen hielt, auch folterte. Und in einer Höhle voller Bücher wohnt der Lehrer Robinson (Olivier Raboudin). Er lehrt seine Schüler Kritik an der totalitären Gesellschaft des Südens zu üben, deren wichtigste Doktrin lautet: Ein Recht auf ein menschenwürdiges Leben hat nur, wer eine Arbeit hat. Wer sie verliert, wird in die Zone verbannt. Und wer in ihr zur Welt kommt, dem wird von Geburt keine Würde zuerkannt.
Soldaten, die Roboterklonen gleichen, bewachen die Mauer und schützen den Wohlstand des in goldenem Licht strahlenden Südens. Doch auch er ist kein Paradies auf Erden. Wer hier im Kampf ums Überleben bestehen will, muss mit Selbstverleugnung, Skrupellosigkeit und Konformität für die Arbeit und damit für sein Lebensrecht zahlen. Jede noch so kleine Abweichung vom vorgegebenen Plan wird bestraft, jeder ist jedem ein Wolf. Die Menschen gleichen Arbeitsbienen, gleich gekleidet, gleich gestimmt und austauschbar. Wer versagt, wird ersetzt. Das alles diene der Sicherung des Wohlstands und dem Überleben, sagt die Propaganda und sagen die herrschenden Oligarchenfamilien, die ihre Macht um jeden Preis verteidigen.
