As the work of self-transformation of the personality progresses, the initiate comes to see that the personality exists between two poles – rationality or logic, and emotion or instinct. In kabbalah, these poles are symbolized by Hod (rational intellect) and Netzach (instinctual emotion). Ich bin heute etwas später aufgestanden. Das Zmorgen lasse ich heute aus, ich habe keinen Appetit. Mein Kopf fühlt sich an, als hätte mir jemand einen Kübel Gift ins Gehirni geschüttet. Ein Druck im Schädel, und ein elektrisches Gefühl in allen Gliedern. Gehirnchemie hat schlimmere Nachwirkungen als so mache Drogen, die ich kenne. Das war wieder mal ein Klassiker gestern. Zwei, drei kleine Ereignisse, und die Gedankenspirale beginnt sich abwärts zu drehen. Immer tiefer, immer weiter, immer dunkler. Erfindet Geschichten und fiktive Situationen, die alle immer mit dem Tod enden. Mindestens. Und am Schluss weiss ich gar nicht mehr, was denn überhaupt der Auslöser war. Egal, das war gestern. Vergessen wir’s einfach, ich will nicht darüber reden. Lass uns sehen, was der heutige Tag bringt.

Ich laufe zum Strand der Healing-Area und sehe dort eine Gruppe Menschen versammelt. Eine Reihe von Schamanen stehen im Halbkreis am See und beten. Die Klänge von Trommeln, Glocken und Rasseln durchdringen die Luft. Dann begeben sich alle hoch zu einer Anhöhe mit Lautsprechern, und jeder Schamane trägt nochmals ein Gebet vor. Aus aller Welt sind sie angereist – aus Australien (Aborigines), Indien, Mexiko, Alaska (Eskimo), dem Amazonas-Regenwald, Afrika und Wales (Kelten).

So aufwändig war der Infostand noch nie dekoriert. Vor ihm leuchten Kakteen grün und blau, als ich das Gelände betrete. Die Dunkelheit ist bereits eingebrochen. Die Luft ist warm. Als wir aus dem Flugzeug ausgestiegen sind, wurden wir in einem Durchgang von 50°C heisser Luft begrüsst – alle Klimaanlagen münden dorthin. Und auch sonst hatte es tagsüber auf dem Gelände – gemäss Aussage der Ansager – an die 40°. Claude hat die optimale Betriebstemperatur erreicht. Es ist eine warme, angenehme Hitze, keinesfalls erschöpfend. Die Leute gewöhnen sich sehr schnell daran.
Neugierig wandere ich übers Gelände. Als ich beim Tanztempel ankomme, bleibt mir fast die Spucke weg: Die haben einen riesigen Schamanen aus Holz aufgestellt; verziert mit Seilen und Fahnen. Phänomenal!
