Gute Musik muss gut klingen. Ich verstehe Leute nicht, wenn sie sagen, sie würden den Unterschied von einem 192 kbit/s kodierten MP3 und einer CD nicht erkennen. Schauen wir uns das mal in der Frequenzspektrumsanalyse mit Spek an:

Wo sind die Töne über 16 kHz? Was bitte sollen diese Lücken zwischen den Frequenzen? Dünkt es mich nur, oder ist hier alles ein wenig gerastert und zusammengepresst?
Was für ein zerstückeltes und kaputtes Stück Schall. Das zu hören ist doch die reinste Verschwendung!
16 kHz, das sind alle Töne über diesem Ton: 16 kHz Sinus.wav. Das heisst, alle Töne darüber fehlen einfach.
Um den Unterschied zu verdeutlichen, habe ich vom obigen Sample alle Frequenzen über 1500 kHz abgeschnitten:

(Da fehlen jetzt natürlich die Frequenzen über 16 kHz, aber ich musste es als MP3 codieren, wegen des Flashplayers)
Man kann auf Youtube Musik hören. Oder mit Spotify. Oder mit [deine Musikstreaming Plattform]. Man kann Musik auch über die grottigen Apple Ohrstecker hören, weil man ein cooler Hipster ist und das frisst, was einem auf den Teller geworfen wird und man gar nichts anderes kennt. Die scherbeln nur so. Oder man ist noch cooler und hört Musik mit den Beats von Dr. Dre, wo der Bass nur so wummt und knattert, dafür werden alle anderen Details nicht dargestellt.
Nein. Nein. Nein. Meine Ohren haben hochwertige Musik verdient. Das volle Frequenzspektrum. Ich höre nur noch FLAC – das ist der Free Lossless Audio Codec.
Den iPod kann ich unter Linux eh nicht mehr verwenden. Ein FLAC-Player muss her. Zum Beispiel Colorfly Pocket HiFi C4 Pro.

Hoii – danke! Wie gefallen Dir die Beschreibungen zu den Bildern? Ich versuche, die alt-Tags immer abzufüllen, damit das zugänglicher wird – für Dich und für andere 🙂
MP3 und Flac unterscheiden sich massiv. Flac ist _nahezu_ Originalqualität, und daher auch nahezu Originalgrösse. Das Starwars Lied oben braucht als MP3 2.1 MB. Und als FLAC wiegt es 16 MB. Aber, wir haben ja genug Speicher, und Speicherplatz für schlechte Qualität verschwenden ist einfach zu schade! Dann lieber eine grössere Festplatte kaufen, und die guten Flac-Stücke sorgfältig aufheben 😉

MP3 ist auch veraltet, bei einer 256KBit/s VBR AAC (.m4a) Datei hören auch Profimusiker keinen Unterschied mehr. Das Format wird auch MP4 genannt und wird bei DAB+ verwendet. FLAC hat auch Nachteile: Erstens kann es nicht von jedem gängigen Player abgespielt werden und zweitens sind die Dateien sehr gross. FLAC reduziert die Grösse von der CD-Qualität auf etwa 50%, bei etwa 800KBit/s. Somit braucht FLAC mindestens 3x mehr Platz als AAC und solange man nicht ein grandioses Gehör und eine enorm teure Musikanlage hat, lohnt sich der Aufwand einfach nicht.
