Mütter werden am Muttertag mit einem Blumenstrauß gefeiert, Väter dürfen am Vatertag mal ganz ungehemmt selbst feiern. Und der Systemadministrator, der für seine Systeme Mutter und Vater zugleich ist?

Für ihn gibt es den System Administrator Appreciation Day am letzten Freitag im Juli, dieses Jahr also am 27. An diesem Tag dürfen die Admins sich nicht nur selbst feiern. Auch die Nutzer ihrer Systeme haben die Gelegenheit, sich für ein Jahr Admin-Arbeit angemessen zu bedanken.

Über ein deutliches Wort des Dankes hinaus sind je nach Wetter Eis oder Kuchen sicher sehr willkommen. Für weitergehende Geschenke gibt es auf der offiziellen Internetseite zum SysAdminDay eine Liste mit Ideen.

Eine Büro-Party gilt als genehm, aber nicht zwingend erforderlich. Microsoft springt übrigens auch auf diesen fahrenden Zug auf und veranstaltet zur Feier des Tages in München ein Seminar mit spannenden Vorträgen über Windows Server 2008 und lustigem Rahmenprogramm. Neue Motivationsmaßnahmen müssen allerdings mit Bedacht auf den Humor und den Geschmack der Admins abgestimmt werden.

Der Kreativität bei den Dankesbekundungen sind keine Grenzen gesetzt. Wer seine Admins für ihre Arbeit im vergangenen Jahr würdigen möchte, wird sicher einen angemessenen Ausdruck seiner Dankbarkeit finden.
