Überwachungsstaat war einmal. Wir leben bereits in der Überwachungsindustrie.
Wenn sich beispielsweise ein Amazon-Kunde sich plötzlich für
Schwangerschaftsbücher interessiert, dann bekommt der Kunde in seinem
nächsten Amazon-Newsletter eventuell Spielsachenangebote zugeschickt.
Das ist von den meisten Kunden so gewollt und die Angebote werden
dankbar angenommen. Und Amazon macht auch kein Hehl daraus, es ist
Dienst an den Kunden. Ist die Erstellung eines Konsumprofils
eigentlich nur ein Synonym für Überwachung oder sind das zwei Paar
Schuhe?
Bei Friendster, MyPlace, Orkut, OpenBC und weitere
Selbstdarstellungsplattformen können weitere Profile erstellen. Es
sind zum Teil Kinder die bereits ganz offen ihr komplettes Leben
öffentlich machen. Was ist, wenn sie erwachsen sind? Und sich für ein
Studienplatz oder Ausbildungsplatz bewerben. Muss das Unternehmen oder
Privat-Uni sie überhaupt noch einladen, um sich ein realistisches Bild
von einem Jugendlichen zu machen? Oder schaut das Unternehmen sich
lieber die Sauforgien bei Flickr an? Welches Bild wirft das auf die

Oder andere Richtung: Bei OpenBC gibt es Leute mit über 500 Kontakte.
Mensch, ist das aber ein Netzwerker, der hat ja Connections“. Welchen
Rückschluss erlaubt es auf diesen Networker. Noch schlimmer, welches
Bild bekommt man von einer Frau in OpenBC, wenn die 500 Kontakte nur
Männer sind?
All diese Informationen und Desinformation können zu einem Bewegungs,
Karriere- und Konsumprofile zusammengetragen werden.
