Das Jahr 2005 neigt sich langsam dem Ende zu. Wir blicken nun zurück auf ein Jahr voller Veränderungen und Abenteuer. Ein Jahr, das vor allem von zwei Elementen geprägt wurde: Luft und Feuer.

Ich persönlich habe mein Jahresziel erreicht: Das Gleitschirmbrevet. Ein Jahr fliegen, und schon so viel erlebt! Hier eine kleine Auswahl:

Zum Thema Feuer:
Dieses Jahr gabs wohl etwas zuviel des Guten; beim Abbrennen von Feuerwerk geriet das Pfadihüttli in Brand! [Link]
Trotzdem: Wir lassen uns nicht davon abhalten, nächstes Jahr wieder 1. August zu Feiern. Aber wir werden vorsichtiger sein.

In Sachen Computer gab’s ne ganze Menge an Veränderungen:
Mein Barebone ([Link]) wurde durch einen Mac mini ersetzt: [Link]
Doch damit nicht genug, denn Crakk tauschte einen iBook ([Link]) gegen meinen alten Linux-Server, der nun vom IPCop ([Link]) ersetzt wurde.

Etwas fehlt auf dem Poster. Genau, ein Schengen-Plakat! Auch politisch gingen hier auf diesem Weblog teilweise ziemlich heftige Diskussionen los… [Link]

Gewisse Orte hatten auch mit Naturkatastrophen zu kämpfen. Angefangen bei der perfekten Welle, über ein bisschen Überschwemmung bis hin zu ein paar niedlichen Hurricans gabs dieses Jahr reichlich zu tun für die Rettungskräfte. [Link]

In Sachen PHP merke ich selber, dass ich vieles heute anders machen würde. Es zahlt sich eben aus, wenn man sauber programmiert, denn sonst hat man später nur mit Bugs zu kämpfen.

Highlight war für mich ganz klar das kleine Projekt mit der grosser Wirkung: Der Crawler!

Es ist schon phänomenal, was sich hier so in einem Jahr alles verändert. Vor genau einem Jahr konnte man einen Beitrag erstellen, ein Bild reintun und das wars dann aber auch schon. Die „Blogs“, wie ich sie damals nannte, wurden nach Wochen gruppiert.

Es gab damals noch
– keine E-Mail Benachrichtigung
– keine Editiermöglichkeit der eigenen Beiträge
– keine Suchfunktion
– kein Glossar
– kein dynamisches Banner
– keine Möglichkeit, mehrere Bilder in einem Beitrag zu posten
– keine RSS-Feeds
– keine einklappbaren Menüs
– kein PDF
– kein Dev-Corner
– keine Shortcalls
– keine Anzeige, wer eingeloggt ist
– kein Messenger
– keine Storylines
– kein Kalender (Archiv)
– keine Smileys
– kein Linkboard
– und keine Snapshots.

Wow. Das ist doch ne ganze Menge! Das wäre jedoch nicht möglich gewesen, wenn ich nicht ständig motiviert worden wäre. Und die Motivation kommt dann, wenn ein Projekt zu leben beginnt. Und das Leben wird von den Besuchern, also EUCH allen eingehaucht! Vielen Dank! Es macht wirklich Spass, so ein Ding zu hegen und zu pflegen.

Die Community ist auf stolze 54 Autoren angewachsen! Davon sind immerhin 17 Stück gerade aktiv. Mit 908 (jetzt 909 ;-)) Beiträgen hat’s halt nicht ganz für die magische Schallmauer von 1’000 gereicht… Aber trotzdem: mit durchschnittlich drei Beiträgen pro Tag kann ich mehr als zufrieden sein. Ausserdem sind 6’220 Kommentare und 4’618 Messages in der Datenbank. Es freut mich, wenn das Angebot so rege benutzt wird. Anderseits werde ich bald einmal vor der Herausforderung stehen, all diese Daten so zu präsentieren, dass man die Übersicht nicht verliert. Ganz zu schweigen von der Performance…

So, jetzt bin ich gespannt, wie das Scratchbook den Jahreswechsel überlebt. Sollte _theoretisch_ 😯 reibungslos gehen. Doch beim Archiv bin ich mir nicht ganz sicher… 😉
