Es ist wieder mal Zeit, ein bisschen gegen Windows zu lästern ;-p
Kürzlich erschienen Updates für die zwei Betriebssysteme Windows XP und Mac OS X. Wenn man die beiden Patches miteinander vergleicht, wird ersichtlich, dass bei OS X zahlreiche Verbesserungen vorgenommen wurden, bei Windows aber nur wieder zahlreiche Sicherheitslücken gestopft wurden.
Klar ist kein Betriebssystem perfekt, aber he Leute, Microsoft mit über 20 Jahren Betriebssystemerfahrung sollte doch wirklich langsam wissen, wo der Hase läuft… Es ist einfach lächerlich.
Auch wenn das Apfel-OS manchmal eine Sicherheitslücke aufweist, sie beschränkt sich meistens nur auf die betroffene Applikation. Aber bei Windows reisst ein Loch oft das ganze System den Bach runter; oft „kann auch volle Kontrolle über das ganze System“ erlangt werden.
Der Oberhammer:
Nur kurz nach dem Patch-Tag warnen Sicherheitsexperten bereits wieder von einer neuen Sicherheitslücke in Windows XP. Sie betrifft auch Systeme mit installiertem Service Pack 2.
Wie soll es auch anders sein: Das Sicherheitsloch könnte
einen oder mehrere Dienste lahm legen oder gar den ganzen Rechner zum Absturz zu bringen.
Und das nach einem frisch eingespielten Update??!
Selbst das Service Pack 2 und die integrierte Windows-Firewall sollen keinen Schutz bieten. Einen Patch für die Anfälligkeit gibt es noch nicht. Microsoft arbeitet aber nach eigenen Angaben daran und will diesen im August veröffentlichen.
Soso. Einen Patch gibt es noch nicht. Wie gut dass PCTipp uns das so höflich mitteilt; dann kann’s ja mal losgehen 😉
Und was steht auf der Verpackung?
Mit dem Service Pack 2 für Windows XP Professional und Windows XP Home Edition hat Microsoft einen neuen Meilenstein in puncto Sicherheit gesetzt. Durch neue Funktionen und Technologien bietet das kostenlose Update allen Windows XP-Anwendern größtmöglichen Schutz vor Viren, Würmern und sonstigen Angriffen auf Ihren PC.
Fazit: Die Marketing-Abteilung von Microsoft redet zuviel…
Viel Spass denen, die mit dem „Service Pack 2 – dem Sicherheitspaket“ „Das digitale Zeitalter erleben“ wollen!
