Fürs Tagebuchschreiben braucht man kein extra Schreiblustiger oder Schreibgewaltiger zu sein. Tagebuchschreiben heisst auch nicht unbedingt: jeden Tag schreiben. Manchmal hat man (sich) viel zu sagen, manchmal ist Funkstille im Kopf. Manchmal ist einem gar nicht zum Schreiben zumute. Doch oft lohnt es sich, einen Anlauf zu nehmen und etwas zu Papier zu bringen, um es «loszuwerden».

Die leeren Blätter nehmen einfach alles auf, was dich beschäftigt, sei das nun deine Zukunft, ein böser Traum, ein Zaubertrick, ein Streit… Auf dem Papier darfst du mit deinen Bleistiftzähnen so richtig zubeissen, darfst ein ganz Garstiger sein oder ein ganz Listiger. Wenn du das Tage­buch dann wieder weglegst, bist du vielleicht ein erstaunlich Friedfertiger, und wer weiss, mit der Zeit wird aus dir sogar ein Schreibsüchtiger.

Liebe Leserin, lieber Leser, könnten Sie sich eine Welt ohne Bücher vorstellen? Keine Klassiker der deutschen und amerikanischen Literatur, keine Sachbücher, keine Kochbücher, keine Bibel – nichts? Dies mag im ersten Moment zwar unglaublich klingen, ist aber der Ausgangspunkt vom 1953 erschienenen Buch „Fahrenheit 451“. Das von Ray Bradbury verfasste Werk spielt nicht zuletzt wegen seiner brillanten Idee in ein und derselben Liga mit diversen weiteren düsteren Dystopie-Erzählungen wie z. B. „1848“ von George Orwell.

Die ganze Ausgangslage ist simpel. Seit dem sämtliche Häuser vermeintlich brandsicher gemacht wurden, besteht die Aufgabe der Feuerwehr nicht mehr darin, das Feuer zu löschen, sondern es zu entfachen und sämtliche Bücher zu verbrennen. Da Bücher nicht selten zum kritischen Denken anregen, werden sie als reale Bedrohung der sozialen Stabilität wahrgenommen. Kreative Freigeister und Genies sind der Gesellschaft ein Dorn im Auge und werden so schnell wie möglich neutralisiert. Überdimensionale TV-Geräte lullen die Bevölkerung ununterbrochen ein, der Realitätsbezug schwindet dahin. Wahrlich ein Horrorszenario, mögen Sie sich nun denken. Aber sind wir wirklich noch so weit davon entfernt?

Gestern beim Stöbern im Comicregal der Bücherei ins Auge gesprungen: „Die Reise mit Bill“ – tolle Perspektiven, wunderschön gemalt, und eine Geschichte mit viel Philosophie und Mystik.

Die Reise mit Bill erzählt von Luke und seiner Tochter Tweety, die ziellos auf den Straßen Amerikas unterwegs sind und auf das eine, entscheidende Ereignis warten, das ihr Leben verändert. Als sie dem Krüppel Bill begegnen ahnen sie noch nicht, dass er ihrem Schicksal die Wende geben wird. Es ist der Auftakt eines großen, elegischen Abenteuers zwischen Traum und Realität, nach dem nichts mehr ist wie zuvor.

Mit seinem Comic “Die Reise mit Bill” hat der Zeichner und Erzähler einen souverän erzählten, rasant geschnittenen Roadmovie vorgelegt. Schultheiss montiert seine überbordenden Seitentableaus aus filmischen Einstellungen zusammen: In großen Weiten eröffnet er atmosphärisch dichte Handlungsräume, in der Totale lässt er erste Details erkennen und arbeitet sich über Nah-, Groß- und Detailaufnahmen an seine Figuren heran. Was der 1946 in Nürnberg geborene Schultheiss hier auf das Papier gebannt hat, zeigt die ganze Könnerschaft eines der wenigen deutschen Zeichner von internationalem Rang.

Ich weiss nicht, ob hier jemand den Film „Eagle Eye“ oder „Wargames 2“ kennt. Beide spielen auf etwas ab, einen Supercomputer, welcher die Regierung bei Ihren Entscheidungen berät. Hmmm, wo habe ich dies denn noch angetroffen? Hier auf diesem Blog, wurde ich auf ein Adventure Game names The Moment of Silence aufmerksam. Obschon ich zugegeben nahezugut wie nicht mehr Computerspiele, habe ich dieses Computerspiel durchgespielt, weil es einfach sehr packend war und meiner Meinung nach in einer utopischen Form sehr viel über eine Mögliche Zukunft aussagt 🙂

Und was treffe ich am Schluss an? Ein Supercomputer, welcher hinter dem ganzen totalären System steckt! Nicht schlecht 😉

Dies alles regt zum denken an, ob unsere ach so moderne Technik, doch nicht etwa eines Tages ausser Kontrolle geraten kann? Neulich bin ich auf ein Buch namens: Das System gestossen, welches mit den vorhin genannten Beispielen sehr grosse Ähnlichkeiten aufweist. Leute die sich viel Gedanken über die Zukunft und Technik machen und denen Szenarien wie in den oben genannten Filmen oder dem Game „The Moment of Silence“ nichts unbekanntes sind, werden das Buch mit Sicherheit Mögen.

Wer 1984 von George Orwell kennt, der wird dieses Buch mögen. Es handelt sich um eine Trilogie von John Twelve Hawks, dessen Name übrigens nur ein Pseudonym ist.

Die weltweite Konspiration einer geheimen Bruderschaft bedroht die Menschheit und nur einige wenige Menschen können das infame Komplott noch stoppen.
Jede Bewegung wird gefilmt, jedes Telefonat abgehört, jede Spur im Internet verfolgt, jeder Einkauf registriert – mit Hilfe eines Systems der totalen Überwachung versucht eine geheime Bruderschaft die Herrschaft über die Welt zu gewinnen. Gabriel und Michael Corrigan sind Traveler, die letzten Überlebenden einer Riege von Propheten, die für Freiheit und Selbstbestimmung kämpfen. Doch dann ist Michael zur Bruderschaft der Tabula übergelaufen, die die gesamte Menschheit mit Hilfe eines weltumspannenden Überwachungsnetzes zu kontrollieren versucht.

Nun erfährt Gabriel, dass sein Vater Matthew, der seit fast zwanzig Jahren verschollen ist und als tot galt, wahrscheinlich noch lebt und irgendwo in Europa gefangen gehalten wird. Gabriel und seine Beschützerin Maya von der Kriegerkaste der Harlequin verlassen sofort New York und begeben sich auf die Suche nach dem Vater. Aber auch Michael und die Bruderschaft der Tabula versuchen ihn ausfindig zu machen. Denn Michael sieht seine neu gewonnene Macht bedroht und möchte seinen Vater deshalb töten lassen. Die Suche führt Gabriel und Maya von den U-Bahn-Tunneln New Yorks und Londons über die Katakomben von Rom und Berlin bis in eine entlegene Region Äthiopiens – immer verfolgt von Michael und den Schergen der Bruderschaft .

Die erschreckende und gleichzeitig realitätsnahe Vision einer völlig überwachten Welt, in der die Zukunft bereits begonnen hat.

Hilfee, ich werde von Büchern erschlagen! Bücher, die ich schon lange vorbestellt habe und nun eintreffen.
Umfangreiche Lektüre, wirklich umfangreich… Selbst die Bibel ist vermutlich dünner. Das habe ich so nicht erwartet. Oja und: Das Bild links ist übrigens die Originalgrössedicke. 6cm.

Die Rede ist von der aktuellen, 2. Ausgabe von „Ubuntu GNU/Linux“. Damit sollten wir nun ausgerüstet sein.

Steht von der Installation, Konfiguration, Administration wirklich alles drin. Selbst 3D beschleunigte X-Server wie XGL, Aiglx und Beryl werden behandelt. Auch die Migration von Windows zu Ubuntu wird besprochen, ebenso Netzwerktechnik und Sicherheit kommen nicht zu kurz.

Ein exzellentes Buch – nur der Lieferzeitpunkt ist ungünstig. Ich habe momentan 1. einen Vortrag für eine Abschlussarbeit (SVA) vorzubereiten und 2. gerade kein Ubuntu in der Nähe.

Deshalb: Will es jemand ausleihen?

Leute, ich hab euch was! „Hackerstories“ erzählt fiktive Geschichten, basierend auf wahren Begebenheiten, von Leuten, die sich beruflich mit Computersicherheit befassen. Allerdings sollte man schon Vorkenntnisse auf Gebiet haben, denn es geht schon ziemlich tief in die Thematik rein, mit erstaunlich tabulosen technischen Erläuterungen. Aber so spannende Informatiklektüre ist einzigartig!
