Vor sieben Monaten setzte ich mich an den kleinen Tisch in der Küche meiner Wohnung aus den 1960er Jahren, eingebettet in das Dachgeschoss eines Gebäudes in einem pulsierenden zentralen Stadtteil Teherans, und ich tat etwas, was ich zuvor schon tausende Male getan hatte. Ich öffnete meinen Laptop und postete in meinem neuen Blog. Dies war jedoch das erste Mal seit sechs Jahren. Und es brach mir fast das Herz.

Jährlich treffen sich alle Hackerspaces aus der Schweiz zu einem kleinen Kongress – dem Cosin. „Wir treffen uns jetzt schon so lange, und es gibt noch immer keine Videos von den Vorträgen“ habe ich mir vor dem Cosin 2017 gedacht. Nun denn – dann „vergesse“ ich doch mal meine kleine Kamera und ein Stativ im Rucksack und frage am Abendtisch spontan, ob wohl jemand etwas dagegen hätte, wenn ich Vorträge aufzeichne. Natürlich hatte niemand etwas dagegen. So entstanden die ersten fünf Videoaufzeichnungen vom Cosin.
Ein Jahr später, Anfang 2018. „Du hast doch Videos gemacht. Können wir das dieses Jahr wiederholen und noch mehr Videos aufzeichnen? Wie kann man das noch besser machen? Der befreundete Hackerspace vom Bodensee hat zwei Kameras und die sind grad eine kleine Infrastruktur für Vortragsaufzeichnung am Aufbauen.“ „Klingt nach Videomischen und Mini-VOC. Ich schau mal, was es so gibt und überleg mir was.“

Soo – 1:30 Uhr morgens. „Heute gehe ich um 2 Uhr ins Näscht, es muss ja nicht immer so spät werden wie gestern Abend bei der Diskussionsrunde mit Joscha.“ Nur noch ein wenig durchs nächtliche Gelände laufen, als Abschiedsrunde für diesen Tag und dann aufs Tram. Habe ich gedacht.
Aus der Glashalle kommt plötzlich etwas auf mich zugerollt. Es ist ein Boot auf Rädern.
„Longneck, longneck – steig ein!“ ruft jemand aus unserem Hackerspace, während sein Namensvetter das Boot mit seinen fünf Insassen von hinten anschiebt. ‚Ok, dieses Ereignis wird hier nur einmal passieren und dann nie wieder‘ denke ich mir. Egal wie müde ich bin – das kann ich mir nicht entgehenlassen! Und ich steige ein. „Wohin fahrt ihr?“ „Sieht es so aus, als ob wir einen Plan hätten?“ bekam ich zur Antwort. Wir werden auf Gutdünken durchs Gelände gefahren. Woah, so toll! Ich darf zuvorderst vorne Platz nehmen und werde gefahren. Jetzt bin ich gespannt, wohin die Reise geht.

Vor vielen Jahren strandete ein Hacker-Raumschiff in unserem Sonnensystem. Um mit verschiedenen Kulturen und Lebensformen Kontakt aufzunehmen, schickten sie eine kleine Rakete zur Erde. Magie verbreitet sich wie Feenstaub, wo immer sie auftaucht.
Um Wissen und Informationsfreiheit zu verbreiten, reist sie nun zu allen Treffen, die der Chaos Computer Club, Europas grösster Hackerverband, organisiert. Bei diesen Treffen kommen Nerds, Hacker, Macher, Aktivisten und andere galaktische Lebensformen zusammen, um Perspektiven auf Technologie, Gesellschaft und utopische Ideen auszutauschen.

All Creatures Welcome zeichnet ein utopisches Bild der Gesellschaft im digitalen Zeitalter. Begleitet von dem Appell „Hacken als eine Denkweise“ tauchen die Zuschauer zusammen mit dem Filmemacher in ein dokumentarisches Abenteuerspiel ein und erkunden bei den Veranstaltungen des Chaos Computer Clubs die Welt der digitalen Gemeinschaften; eine realistische Reflexion des virtuellen Spektrums. Zusammen mit dem Filmemacher und dem Slogan „Use Hacking as a mindset“ tauchen wir in ein dokumentarisches Abenteuerspiel ein und erkunden die Welt der Komputerfrieks, wie sie sich 1981 auf der Gründungsversammlung des Chaos Computer Clubs nannten. Wir stoßen auf eine offene, freiheitliche Gesellschaft. Die Ereignisse des CCC sind eine Art utopische reale Reflexion des virtuellen Spektrums. Wir begegnen Engeln, Aktivisten, Robotern, Programmierern und Machern. Wir lernen, was ein Hack ist, warum Lockpicking wichtig sein kann, wie ein Mobilfunksystem funktioniert. Wir tauchen in das Spiel ein und werden Teil der Gemeinschaft, die ebenso integrativ wie anspruchsvoll ist. Noch außerhalb dieses Kollektivs sind die Herausforderungen in einer Zeit, in der politische Gewissheiten und Institutionen zunehmend erodieren, enorm. Modelle der Regierungsführung, Wirtschaft, Sozialordnung, Technologie und Wissenschaft werden rund um die Uhr in Frage gestellt. Mit den Verhaltensregeln des Internets werden nationale Gesetze aufgehoben und in globale Strukturen umgewandelt. Während das weltweite Netz strukturell tatsächlich eine radikale Erneuerung der Demokratie ermöglichen würde, indem es sie von der Repräsentation zur Partizipation verändert, driften immer mehr Staaten in der politischen Realität zu autoritären Gesellschaften hin. Im Laufe dieses Prozesses wurde unbemerkt die größte Überwachungsmaschine der Menschheitsgeschichte geschaffen. Wir sehen, wie die Hackerkultur diesen Herausforderungen begegnet und welche inneren Widersprüche ihr begegnen. Wir lernen, dass unser Leben nicht von allgemeinen, gegebenen Wahrheiten bestimmt wird, sondern tatsächlich durch die Art und Weise, wie wir arbeiten, uns entwickeln, leiden oder träumen. Die Ereignisse des CCC werden zu einer möglichen Blaupause des sozialen Umbruchs. Selbstorganisation, Meinungsfreiheit und kritische Diskussion verschmelzen in einem bunten, polyphonen Chor abseits von sozialen Normen und kapitalistischen Zwängen: „Seid ausgezeichnet zueinander!“

Was macht wirklichen Schulerfolg aus? Gilt der Grundsatz «Übung macht den Meister»? Oder ist es die Intelligenz, die darüber entscheidet, ob das Lernen gelingt oder nicht? In Pratteln wurde am 1. August 2018 am Gallenweg 8 eine Tagesschule eröffnet, die beim Lernen neue Wege geht.
Ausgangspunkt für das Schulprojekt war eine Entdeckung. Denis Marcel Bitterli, Initiant und Schulleiter der Privatschule, führte als Volksschullehrer in seinem Klassenzimmer vor 25 Jahren ein neues Fach ein: Die Lernwerkstatt. In dieser wurde statt Vokabeln zu büffeln oder viele Arbeitsblätter auszufüllen an eigenen Lernprojekten gearbeitet. Es entstanden Filme, Marionetten, Baumhäuser, Instrumente oder Anlagen für Modelleisenbahnen. Zugleich wurde mit der fachlichen Arbeit herausgearbeitet, welche Bedeutung das Werk für die persönliche Entwicklung und das Arbeitsverhalten haben könnte. Themen wie Abgrenzung, Konkurrenz oder Angst wurden besprochen. Obwohl die Mädchen und Knaben dadurch weniger Deutsch- und Mathematikunterricht hatten, liess sich bereits nach wenigen Wochen mit Erstaunen feststellen, dass sich die Leistungen der Schüler markant verbesserten. Sowohl in der Fach-, wie auch in der Sozial- und Selbstkompetenz waren deutliche Fortschritte erkennbar. Warum?
Die Erfahrungen aus dem Klassenzimmer liessen den Bildungsfachmann aufhorchen. Bauen wir unsere Schulen auf überholten pädagogischen Grundsätzen auf? Müssten wir nicht eine Neugewichtung vornehmen und vermehrt auf der Förderung von Selbst- und Sozialkompetenz auf bauen? Zusammen mit Kollegen stellte er sich den pädagogischen Fragen. Gemeinsam begannen sie, das Unterrichten zu überdenken und auf den Kopf zu stellen. Ein Konzept entstand, welches Bildung und Schule auf das Wesentliche – auf die Entwicklung von Beziehungsfähigkeit – ausrichtet. Es entstand die Prima Bildung.
Es gibt keine Einheitsklassen sondern altersdurchmischte Lerngruppen. Neben Kindern und Jugendlichen, welche die obligatorische Schulzeit zurücklegen, kommen auch Eltern und Erwachsene in den Genuss von Bildungsangeboten. Für die Schüler gibt es keine Hausaufgaben und keine Prüfungen, sondern Kompetenznachweise. Anstatt mit Noten werden die Leistungen mit einem Portfolio aus gewiesen. Stundenplan und Lerninhalte legen die Schüler gemeinsam mit den Lernbegleitern fest. Man kann in den Ferien zur Schule gehen. Die Schule findet nicht nur im Schulhaus, welches übrigens alles andere wie ein klassisches Schulhaus aussieht – sondern auch in Lernateliers an anderen Orten statt. Auch ausserschulische Lernangebote, die in Vereinen und in der Freizeit besucht werden, sind ein Bestandteil der Bildung.

Vor einem Jahr habe ich ein Ballett beleuchtet. Die Tanzlehrerin dort hatte sich echauffiert, dass ich zu viele Effekte einsetze, und „bitte nicht zu viel Nebel!“. Einsam drehten die vereinzelten Scheinwerfer auf dem Gerüst vor der Bühne und ScanShow verschluckte sich manchmal an den Makros…
Etwa zur selben Zeit hatte ich erfahren, dass der Hersteller der grössten und besten Lichtsteuerungssoftware auf der ganzen Welt eine abgespeckte Version der GrandMA-Konsole für kleinere Veranstaltungen veröffentlicht hat: dot2. Und dass es eine PC-Version davon gibt. Und dass man die gratis herunterladen kann. Und dass man damit 512 DMX-Kanäle über Art-Net steuern kann. Wait what? Ich kann meine Shows nun mit der Software steuern, mit der sie all die grossen Openairs beleuchten? OMGGEILGEILGEIL!!!!!!!

Wir sitzen am Feuer, es dunkelt ein. Unsere Kommune ist selbstorganisiert, selbstversorgend und selbstverwaltet. Gemütliche Strohballenhäuser halten die Temperaturen im Winter warm und im Sommer kühl. Komposttoiletten und biologische Wasseraufbereitungsanlagen verwandeln Abfallstoffe zurück in Nährstoffe. Jeder hat seinen Stamm, seine Gleichgesinnten, wo er sich zuhause fühlen kann: Geborgen, ermutigt, bestätigt und respektiert in seiner ganzen Seinsart, Eigenart und Vielfalt. Auf der ganzen Welt haben sich Menschen zu Kommunen zusammengeschlossen und leben in ihren natürlichen Kulturkreisen, jede mit ihren Eigenarten und Spezialitäten. Überregional schliesst man sich zu einer Föderation zusammen, die immer aus wechselnden Mitgliedern der Kommunen besteht. Manchmal gehen Kinder zur Föderation und vertreten ihre Interessen. Sie haben eine Stimme und werden als vollwertiges Mitglied der Gesellschaft gezählt und respektiert, denn sie können uns vieles zeigen. Jeder Mensch findet irgendwo seine Aufgabe, ist aber nicht gezwungen, nach einer zu suchen, oder seine Tätigkeit mit anderen zu vergleichen und messen. Da gibt es Milchhändler, Imker, Netzwerkspezialisten, Händler, Schreiner, Geschichtenerzähler, Musiker, Tierfreunde und Gärtner – oder gleich Menschen mit allem zusammen. So genaue Grenzen wie „einen Beruf“ gibt es nicht. Wir sind nicht am arbeiten, sondern am spielen. Talente werden spontan entdeckt und weiterverfolgt, in dem man einander über die Schulter schaut. Wissen wird in Gilden ausgetauscht, und es gibt Gilden (Zusammenschlüsse) von und für fast jede Art von Tätigkeitsgebiet. Klassisch: Die Handwerkergilde. Dann aber auch die Gilde der Informationsritter, die sich mit dem zur Verfügung stellen und der Verbreitung von Information befasst; also Netzwerk, Kryptografie, Speicherdienste, Hosting, Sendestationen, Datenübertragung. Jeder hat seine eigene Sendestation, mit der er Informationen in Text, Bild und Ton verbreiten kann. Die Gilde der Blumenwächter schützt und erhält seltene Arten. Baumwächter und Waldhirten forsten den Wald auf und bestimmen Schutzzonen, die den Hauptbestandteil des Waldes ausmachen, und die Zonen für Brennholz. Der Wald ist riesig; fast 82% des Landgebietes bestehen aus Wald. In jeder Gilde finden sich Menschen im Alter von 1-130 Jahren, und wenn Menschen mit viel Erfahrung auf Frischlinge treffen, lernen die Kleinen sehr schnell und vor allem: Praktische Fähigkeiten. Dank der Gilde der Nuklearphysik steht in jeder Kommune ein Reaktor, der die Energie aus dem Raum selbst transponiert. Kunst ist überall. Jeder Tag ein Fest. Der Umgang mit psychotropen Hilfsmitteln ist bewusst und wird für verschiedene Situationen angemessen genutzt und wirkt bereichernd. Es gibt ganze Archive voller Wissen und Bücher, wo die Geschichte, Forschung und Erkenntnisse bewahrt werden. Jeder hat dazu freien Zugang. Die Gilde der Raumfahrt entwickelt an geeigneten Plätzen Raumschiffe.
