KK-Schiessen ist (war) offenbar nicht so bekannt. Jedenfalls gab’s einen riesen Rummel. Zuerst der Beitrag auf Nordwest-5:

Junge Kanoniere ballern Kartoffeln 200 Meter weit

Sieben Jugendliche aus Aesch pflegen ein explosives Hobby: Sie schiessen mit selbst gebauten Kanonen Kartoffeln über die Felder.

«Es ist faszinierend, dass man aus Alltagsgegenständen eine Kanone bauen kann, die so weit schiesst», erklärt der 20-jährige Claude Hohl vom KK-Club Aesch. Vor anderthalb Jahren stiessen Claude und seine Kollegen im Internet auf Berichte über Kartoffelkanonen und begannen diese aus Sanitärrohren und Elektrozündern aus dem Baumarkt nachzubauen – Kostenpunkt etwa 50 Franken. Als Munition werden Kartoffeln oder Äpfel und als Zündstoff Treibgas verwendet. «Am besten funktioniert Coop-Haarspray», weiss der 16-jährige Felix Eberle (anm: das war eigentlich meine Aussage…)

Einmal pro Monat treffen sich die sieben Hobbykanoniere, um ihre Geräte unter freiem Himmel auszuprobieren. Ganz ungefährlich ist das nicht: Die Kartoffelkanonen haben eine Reichweite von 200 Metern. In Deutschland fallen sie unter das Waffengesetz, in der Schweiz sind sie noch legal. Ende letzten Monats verbot deshalb die Gemeinde dem KK-Club aus Sicherheitsgründen das Abfeuern auf öffentlichem Grund in der Klus. Mittlerweile konnte der KK-Club aber eine neue Lösung finden: Die Jugendlichen dürfen auf dem Feld eines Bauern schiessen, müssen ihm aber dafür beim Heuen und bei anderen Arbeiten helfen.

Ich finde, Papier ist das technisch hochwertigste Produkt überhaupt. Verglichen mit einem Notebook: Man kann darauf Informationen abspeichern, ob nun handschriftlich oder digital, ganz ohne Strom. Man muss nicht auf einen Knopf drücken und zwei Minuten warten, bis das Papier bereit ist. Papier stürzt nicht ab.

Ziemlich schrullige Technik also, diese papierlosen Büros.

Wobei: Papier kann abstürzen. Wenn, dann aber elegant!

Hoppla. Jetzt ist es soweit. Ich bin umgezogen.
Und hier bin ich gelandet: Kolumbanstrasse 32, 9008 St. Gallen.

Ein komisches Gefühl – jetzt bin ich für alles selbst verantwortlich…

Jetzt sitze ich also hier – und ich fühle mich wie ein Fisch im kalten Wasser. Wildfremde Menschen an einem wildfremden Ort! Jetzt beginnt ein völlig anderer Alltag. Ob ich damit klarkomme? Muss wohl…

Aber was so eine neue Wohnung alles für Arbeit gibt! Das fängt beim Einkaufen an: Frohen Mutes marschiere ich in den Laden. Brot, Teigwaren, Hackfleisch, und was Süsses – lässt sich damit leben? Theoretisch ja, praktisch……. nicht ganz. beim Kochen merkte ich nämlich plötzlich, dass die Teigwaren noch etwas Salz bräuchten, und sich das Fleisch ohne Fett nicht optimal anbraten lässt… Und so schmeckte das erste Essen halt ein wenig Fad und ich ging halt noch ein zweites mal in den Laden, um die Grundnahrungsmittel zu besorgen: Milch, Zucker, Salz, Butter… All die „unwichtigen“ Dinge, die es sowieso Zuhause hätte 😉

Und das Einräumen geht wohl auch nicht in zwei Tagen über die Bühne. Das wird sich sicher über eine Woche hin ziehen.

Uiuiui. Es kommt ordentlich Overhead in meinen Alltag…

Aber: Die Wohnlage ist schön ruhig, der Bahnhof auch nicht weit, und meine 4-Zimmer Villa im 3. Stock hat einen Lift, zwei Balkone mit Abendsonne und sogar eine Geschirrspülmaschine – die rinnt zwar manchmal etwas, aber wer will schon gerne von Hand Geschirrspülen? 😛

Wer’s wirklich wissen will über Netzwerke, der ist hier bestens bedient. Andrew Tanenbaum geht durch alle Schichten – allerdings theoretisch. Etwas trockene Materie – ich hab’s gelesen und – naja. Schön dass es Netzwerke gibt.

Suse Linux Administrationshandbuch
Der eine oder andere Trick zu Linux findet man sicher auch hier. Ich hab Google.

Slackware Linux Essentials
Ah, sehr edle Lektüre, auf Englisch. Wer mit Linux anfangen will, findet hier eine sehr gute Einführung, wie das System aufgebaut ist, wie es sich administrieren lässt usw.

MTIV by Hillman Curtis (oder so ähnlich)
Ein Buch für Grafiker/Webdesigner. Inspiration, Gestaltung, Usability.

Und dann gibt’s noch eine ganze Reihe Bücher über Weblogs. Hauptsächlich wird hier über das Phänomen Weblog diskutiert; was ist ein Weblog, was ist WordPress und wie funktioniert es… Auch Begriffe wie Blogosphäre, RSS, Blogroll und ähnliches wird beschrieben.
Das Buch, welches wirklich nützliche Tipps gibt über Journalismus und Schreibstil habe ich natürlich behalten…
