Rund 100 Menschen haben auf dem Bundesplatz Mahnwache gehalten für die Grundwerte der Demokratie. Es gab kein Programm, keine Reden, keine Organisation. Die Leute standen einfach verstreut auf dem Platz herum und genossen die Freiheit, ihrer Meinung mit einem Plakat oder durch ihre blosse Anwesenheit Ausdruck zu geben.

Sogar aus der Innerschweiz und dem Zürcher Oberland kamen die Leute angereist, angeregt durch das Vorbild von Alec Gagneux, dem Gründer des Sommer-WEFF. Am Donnerstag kündigte er auf seiner Website an, heute Samstag zwischen 14.00 und 15.00 Uhr Mahnwache zu halten. Die Menschen waren friedlich, aber auch sehr bestimmt in ihrem Widerstand gegen das Notrecht, das bekanntlich eingeführt worden war, als die Pandemie bereits am Abklingen war.

«Einschränkungen von Grundrechten bedürfen einer gesetzlichen Grundlage» heisst es in Art. 36 der Bundesverfassung, die von einem Teilnehmer angemahnt wurde. Ein anderer fragte auf seinem Umhängeplakat ganz einfach «hirninfiziert?» Eine Frau schrieb auf ihr Plakat: «Ich stehe hier für die Schwachen dieser Welt, weil es einmal mehr vor allem sie trifft.

Die Polizei, mit rund 20 Mann präsent, wusste zunächst nicht, wie sie mit der Mahnwache umgehen sollte. Nach rund 25 Minuten kam offenbar der Befehl, den Platz zu räumen. Dies sei eine «Versammlung», erklärte ein Polizist am Megaphon, die Teilnehmer seien unter Strafandrohung aufgefordert, den Platz zu verlassen. Dann durchquerten einige Polizisten mit einem Absperrband den Platz und machten die Wachenden darauf aufmerksam, dass sie jenseits des Bandes angezeigt würden. Ein paar Wenige liessen sich nicht einschüchtern und müssen jetzt mit einem Verfahren rechnen.

Den Polizeikräften war es sichtlich unwohl bei der Aktion. Abgesehen von einigen unfreundlichen Wortwechseln hüben und drüben blieb alles friedlich. Und zum Schluss gab es sogar ein kleines Wunder. Ein Wachender bestand darauf, auf dem Platz zu bleiben, bis die Polizei ihn weggetragen hätte oder selbst gegangen sei. Dann stiegen die Polizeikräfte in ihre Autos und auf ihre Räder und gingen ihres Wegs.

Der Bundesplatz ist ein symbolträchtiger Ort, das hat sich auch an diesem Samstag deutlich gezeigt. Spazieren und Verweilen sind erlaubt, Stillhalten für politische Botschaften jedoch verboten.

Auf dem Platz hielten die Menschen einen Sicherheitsabstand von zehn oder mehr Meter ein – und wurden vertrieben. Neben dem Platz wurden sie auch mit viel kleineren Abständen toleriert.

Einen «Organisator» für diese Mahnwachen gibt es nicht. Für Alec Gagneux und viele, die auf dem Bundesplatz für politische Rechte aufgestanden sind, ist jedoch klar, dass an den kommenden Samstagnachmittagen wieder Wache gehalten wird, bis das Notrecht aufgehoben wird.

Wenn das wahr werden soll, dann sind jetzt Menschen gefragt, die nicht einem Aufruf folgen, sondern ihrer inneren Stimme.
