Die Republik schreibt:

Wir erhalten zahlreiche Links zu Videos und Blogbeiträgen, in denen typischerweise Männer erzählen, dass das alles Panikmache sei, dass man doch endlich mal die Zahlen richtig analysieren solle.

Was hat jetzt das damit zu tun, ob ein Text von einem Mann oder von einer Frau verfasst wird? Es geht doch um den Inhalt! Meine Güte, was soll dieses herumgehacke auf Männern immer? Da schwingt so ein feministischer Unterton mit und mit geschlechtsurteilsfreier Wertschätzung hat das wenig zu tun.

Seit die Corona-Epidemie ausgebrochen ist, verbreitet sich Unsinn darüber im Netz viral: Die Falschnachrichten keimen irgendwo auf, werden auf den sozialen Medien geteilt und verstreuen sich über das ganze Internet. Die Inhalte sind oft einseitig, verzerrt oder schlicht falsch.

Ja, es gibt den Unsinn und die Panik-Kettenbriefe, die per WhatsApp weitergereicht werden. Trotzdem: Wird man gleich als „Unsinn“, „nichtseriös“ und „Verschwörungstheoretiker“ abgestempelt, wenn man die offiziellen Zahlen und die offizielle Geschichte in Frage stellt?

Die Republik schreibt weiter, wie man glaubwürdige von problematischen Informationen unterscheiden kann:

Überprüfen Sie die Urheberschaft. Ist sie namentlich bekannt? Verfügt der Absender über wissenschaftliche oder fachliche Expertise? Oder gehört er oder sie zu einer seriösen journalistischen Publikation, die an methodische Standards gebunden ist und sich auch vor dem Presserat verantworten muss?

Mit anderen Worten:

• Wurde der Absender von einer zentralistischen Kontrollstelle legitimiert?
  (=hat eine Universität dem Menschen ein Papier in die Hand gedrückt, das sagt:
  „Du bist ein Wissenschaftler.“)?
• „Gehört er zu einer seriösen journalistischen Publikation“ – ja was ist das überhaupt? Wer bestimmt, was eine seriöse, journalistische Publikation ist?
• „[die sich] vor dem Presserat verantworten muss“ – also auch hier wieder:
  Wurde sie von einer zentralistischen Kontrollinstanz legitimiert?

Wer ist dieser Presserat, wer ist dort drin, wer wird da von wem bezahlt und wie sind die Lobbyverbindungen dort?
Ist der Presserat ein Organ, das die offizielle Meinung steuert und alles, was dem nicht entspricht, filtert, zensiert und unterdrückt?

Wir haben einen Blog von einer Medienstelle bekommen – ein Corona-Tagebuch von Mitarbeiterinnen des Helvetas-Hilfswerks, die in Burma, Burkina Faso und Peru die Lage beobachten. Normalerweise publizieren wir solche Hinweise auf nichtjournalistische Inhalte nicht.

Was soll das überhaupt? Was gibt der Republik das Recht, sich als „Journalisten“ zu bezeichnen und alles andere als „nichtjournalistisch“ abzustempeln?
Die Republik ist doch einfach ein Zusammenschluss von Leuten, die eine Zeitung gründen wollten; Quasi ein Startup. Das kann ja jeder machen, und dann behaupten, „wir sind Journalisten“. Wer drückt den Stempel „das ist journalistisch“ auf, wer vergibt diese Legitimation?

Ist es die saubere Recherche?
Sehen wir doch mal nach. Nutzen wir die Instrumente, die uns die Republik an die Hand gegeben hat.

Die Republik:

Und jetzt die WHO, World Health Organisation:

Einer von euch beiden lügt!

Wer drückt den Stempel „das ist journalistisch“ auf, wer vergibt diese Legitimation?
Ist es die saubere Recherche und das Hinterfragen von Zahlen, wie z.B. die „Corona-Todeszahlen“? Hat die Republik den Fakt berücksichtigt, dass es Patienten gibt, die bereits krank waren und im letzten Moment noch das Coronavirus aufgeschnappt haben und dann in der Statistik der Coronatoten landen? Die sind nicht an Corona verstorben, sondern mit. Somit sagen diese Todeszahlen nichts über Corona aus.

Da wir aber im Moment (und ehrlicherweise fast immer) nur wenig aus diesen Gegenden hören, leiten wir Ihnen den Link gerne weiter.

Der Inhalt des verlinkten Blogs ist leider auch wieder nur Angstverbreitung mit bösen Bildern und Zahlen. Deswegen hat die Republik ihn wohl weitergeleitet.

Somit ist auch bei der Republik klar, auf welcher Seite sie steht. Sie giesst in das gleiche Füllhorn der Masse; den allgemeinen Konsens, wie schlimm das Virus ist und wie man sich jetzt davor schützen muss. Hinterfragt, warum, oder was die grösseren Zusammenhänge sein könnten, wird nicht.
