Vor einem Jahr habe ich ein Ballett beleuchtet. Die Tanzlehrerin dort hatte sich echauffiert, dass ich zu viele Effekte einsetze, und „bitte nicht zu viel Nebel!“. Einsam drehten die vereinzelten Scheinwerfer auf dem Gerüst vor der Bühne und ScanShow verschluckte sich manchmal an den Makros…
Etwa zur selben Zeit hatte ich erfahren, dass der Hersteller der grössten und besten Lichtsteuerungssoftware auf der ganzen Welt eine abgespeckte Version der GrandMA-Konsole für kleinere Veranstaltungen veröffentlicht hat: dot2.
Und dass es eine PC-Version davon gibt.
Und dass man die gratis herunterladen kann.
Und dass man damit 512 DMX-Kanäle über Art-Net steuern kann.
Wait what? Ich kann meine Shows nun mit der Software steuern, mit der sie all die grossen Openairs beleuchten?

Das löst jetzt den ScanShit vom letzten Jahr ab. Wie wohl eine Tanzshow aussehen würde, wenn ich mit dot2 mal so richtig Licht und Schatten machen darf?

Meine Frage wurde vergangenes Wochenende beantwortet. Vier Futurelight Eye-19 Wash Movingheads, vier PLB-280 Spots, Liveprojektion der Bühnenkamera auf die Leinwand, Tourhazer, Bodennebel, zahlreiche Frontscheinwerfer der Tonhalle Wil und ein fettes L-Acoustics Soundsystem mit zwei Subwoofern lassen diesmal keine Wünsche offen. Und die Tanzlehrerin liebt Nebel!
„Nur so wenig Nebel?“ „Ja und der Strobo -- ist das alles?“ kommt sie zu mir. Ach so ist das?! Silhouettenlicht mit Bodennebel, das einen Sumpf darstellt; oder schnelle Stroboskopeffekte, während die Tänzer roboterartige Tanzbewegungen machen? Gut, Madame, kannste haben!
Sie hat ihre Tänzer sogar mit leuchtenden Beinringen ausgerüstet und ein tolles Introvideo erstellen lassen, bei welchem dann das Silhouettenlicht vom Tanzstudio direkt zur Bühne überblendet und es dann hier weitergeht.

Mein Lieblingstanz. Vier aggressive Lichststrahlen, mit einem Gobo zu parallelen Linien geformt, beleuchten die Bühne. Der Rest ist dunkel. Ich betone das „heeey!“ mit Frontscheinwerfern.
Der Clown. Statisches, schlichtes Licht, denn dieser Tanz lebt mehr durch Bewegung statt durch Lichtaction. Melancholisch.
Die Eiskönigin erzählt von der Nacht, während sich der Bodennebel langsam über die Bühne ausbreitet.
Die leuchtenden Beinringe kommen im Silhouettenblitzlicht besonders zur Geltung.
Zwei verfeindete Hiphop-Frauengruppen liefern sich gegenseitig ein Tanzduell. Zuerst die blaue Gruppe…
…dann die Rote.
Meine Lieblingsszene. Alle klatschen Becher rhythmisch auf den Boden -- ein Spektakel für Augen und Ohren!
Zombies steigen langsam aus dem Sumpf, der durch dichten Bodennebel dargestellt wird.
Bis meine Welt die Augen schliesst. Ein berührendes Lied mit schlichten, roten Säulen.
Die James Bond Szene; „erotisch, reife Frauen; Schlafzimmerstimmung“, wie im Drehbuch stand…
Fliederstrahlen. Violett-Weiss kombiniert sich sehr schön!

Und das sind sie, die Scheinwerfer, die für farbiges, bewegtes Licht sorgen.
Der eingebaute Kühlschrank dieser Nebelmaschine kühlt den Nebel runter, so dass er am Boden bleibt.
Selbstverständlich drückte ich nach Ende der Vorstellung, als der Vorhang geschlossen war, nochmals auf den Nebelknopf und konnte durch die Bühnenkamera beobachten, wie die Kinder sich voller Freude darauf stürzten und mit dem Bodennebel spielten. 😀
Unser Hauptquartier, die mobile Operationsbasis, das Space Command Center, von wo wir die bevorstehende Mission überwachen und steuern. Als Einlassmusik spiele ich Unknown Reality vom Boomfestival. Diese Musik hat auch die Tänzer während dem Aufwärmen begleitet und ich habe sie zusätzlich noch durch spontane Lichtstimmungen unterstützt -- sehr zu meiner und zu ihrer Freude!
Die Weltraumfähre ist bereit für ein audiovisuelles Abenteuer.
(Landläufig bezeichnet man diesen Platz auch einfach als „FoH“, Front of House; Sitz der Licht- und Tonregie).
Und so sieht die Show im dot2 aus:
Die Stücknummern sind mit dem Drehbuch synchronisiert. Das ist besonders dann hilfreich, wenn die Stellprobe nicht der Reihe nach folgt. So kann ich während der Probe für jeden Tanz eine passende Lichtstimmung suchen und dann später beliebig Zwischenschritte mit bis zu drei Kommastellen dazufügen und so die Übergänge verfeinern, Applauslicht hinzufügen und die Scheinwerfer fürs nächste Stück vorpositionieren. Eine Lichtszene heisst „Cue“ (=Stimmung) und wenn ich auf Cue 22 Springe, wechselt dot2 mit dem dort hinterlegten Befehl „Page 22 Please“ auch auf die Faderbank 22, welche mir die dazugehörigen Schieberegler anzeigt. So werden nur die Bedienelemente dargestellt, die ich gerade brauche; ich weiss immer, wo ich gerade bin und ich kann mich voll auf das aktuelle Stück konzentrieren. Mit „Go“ geht es zur nächsten Cue. So muss ich für die ganze Show nur jeweils die Go-Taste betätigen und ab und zu Schieberegler bedienen, was ich mir aber in den Regieanweisungen in der rechten Spalte notieren kann. In diesem Beispiel „Bis meine Welt die Augen schliesst“ muss ich jeweils die Rechte und dann die Linke Bühnenhälfte beleuchten. Zwei Schieberegler, und der Tag ist gegessen. Die „Oops“-Taste macht versehentliche Änderungen rückgängig, ein „Tempfader“ lässt mich die Intensität eines Effekts regulieren (z.B. Scheinwerfer mehr oder weniger gross kreisen lassen), was sehr geil ist, denn so kann ich die Lichtdynamik für ein Lied bis ins kleinste Detail perfekt steuern.
MA dot2 lässt mich ganz entspannt an eine Show kommen, denn ich weiss, dass ich mich darauf verlassen kann. Alles in allem ein sehr fähiges Stück Software. dot2 läuft prima unter Linux mit Wine, und alles, was ihr noch dazu braucht, ist ein Ethernet-to-DMX Adapter für ~130$, und schon könnt ihr Licht machen wie die Grossen.
