Auf YouTube gibt es Videos mit 10h Geräuschen aus dem Inneren von verschiedenen Raumschiffen, Modemrauschen, Hyperraumflug der Millennium Falcon, der Lüftung einer Klimaanlage oder eines Schiffes am Nordpol.
Diese Töne haben was. Ich erinnere mich, als ich im Estrich als Kind andächtig vor dem Kamin stand und dem Ofengeräusch lauschte. Oder im Half-Life vor einem Lüftungsschacht einfach nur eine Minute dastand und diese spezielle Atmosphäre in mich aufnahm. Das hat so etwas sphärisches, mystisches, geheimnisvolles.
Die Raumschiffatmosphäre auf der Nostrodomo ist gleich viel düsterer und bedrohlicher -- passend zur Einstimmung auf die bevorstehende Konfrontation mit den Aliens.
Das Geräusch auf meiner Anlage zuhause abspielen, und schon verwandelt sich mein Zimmer in die Kommandobrücke der Nostrodomo und wir sind auf einer Erkundungsmission zur Anesidora bei Planet LV-426. Die Zeilen, die über meine Bildschirme rasen, während ich OpenWrt kompiliere, werden passend untermalt mit den analogen Computergeräuschen aus dem Alienraumschiff.

Radaranlagen, das Schimmern der roten Lampen auf einer Antenne in der Abenddämmerung, das sanfte Summen einer entfernten Sirene irgendwo in der Weltraumsphäre -- ich weiss nicht, was mich daran so fasziniert, aber es ist geil!
