Meine persönliche Liste an Dingen, die mir nach diesem Festivalsommer im Nachhinein sauer aufgestossen sind. Auf was muss ich achten? Was kann ich beim nächsten Mal besser machen?
Kamera
Sony DSC-RX100 II. Das zweite Modell in der Reihe von insgesamt fünf; aber das einzige mit einem Zubehörschuh, welcher das Anstöpseln eines externen Mikrofons erlaubt. Denn Ton ist wichtiger als Video, sagt dieser Kurs. Ich brauche kein 4K-Video, ich brauche keine Zeitlupenaufnahmen. Meine Wunschkamera hätte einen elektronischen Sucher, 5-Achsen Bildstabilisator, Anschlussmöglichkeit für ein externes Mikrofon, optional wechselbare Objektive und wäre so klein wie die RX100; denn ich will sie ständig am Gürtel tragen, ohne dass es mir die Hose runterreisst und blitzschnell bereit haben, um eine Szene einzufangen. Aber diese Kamera gibt es nicht. Und so ist die RX100m2 momentan die beste Kamera für meine Anforderungen.
Das Stativ ist dein bester Freund.
Ich sollte es dabeihaben, immer. Das ist zwar mühsam, wenn man es ausgefahren hat, und man macht dann nichts anderes mehr als Fotos – aber diese werden um Faktoren besser. Auf dem kleinen Kamerabildschirm mag ein Bild scharf aussehen. Zuhause auf dem Computer?
Fail.
Bei Verwendung des Stativs 2 Sekunden Selbstauslöser nutzen.
Das Abdrücken verursacht eine ganz kleine Schwankung – und zack, schon sind der Turm und die Berge verwischt:
Schade.
Videos immer mit Stativ.
Immer. Ausser man hat es gerade nicht zur Hand.
Die „Bildstabilisation“ ist unbrauchbar, zu schnell wird das ganze Bild unscharf. Ich will die Bewegung der Akteure filmen, nicht die Bewegung der Kamera.
Immer auf die Helligkeitseinstellung achten!
Beim Feuerturm abfacklen habe ich die Helligkeitskorrektur entdeckt – die funktioniert auch für Videos und während dem filmen! Manchmal will ich die Strukturen des Feuers und der Flammen sehen – Helligkeit auf ganz dunkel. Dann wiederum will ich die vom Feuer beleuchteten Zuschauer sehen – Helligkeit hoch – das Feuer glüht weiss, man sieht die Flammen gar nicht mehr – dafür jetzt aber die Zuschauer. Der Helligkeitsregler ist wichtiger als ich angenommen habe. Ja, für die meisten Fotos draussen bei Tageslicht kann man die Einstellung „ein Krälleli dünkler“ lassen, wie mir mein Vater beigebracht hat. Sobald aber helle Fenster das Rauminnere abdunkeln oder in einem offenen Zirkuszelt nur noch die Silhouetten der Leute sichtbar sind, weil sich die Kamera auf das Licht von draussen einstellt – spätestens dann drehe ich am Belichtungsregler.
Der Modus „Superior Intelligent Auto“ ist fürn Arsch.
Erst dachte ich: „Hey cool, die Kamera nimmt fünf Bilder auf und sucht sich dann das am wenigsten Verschwommene aus.“ Leider nein: Alle fünf Bilder werden übereinandergelegt, das Ergebnis ist Brei:
Superior Intelligent Auto sucht sich für die Szene den am besten geeignete Modus aus. In der Nacht wählt es „Multi Frame Noise Reduction“. Ohne Stativ unbrauchbar. Dann noch lieber „Intelligent Auto“ wählen, welcher nur ein Bild schiesst.
Hochformat ist selten gut.
Warum auch?
Welche Kameraeinstellungen für welche Szenen?
ISO – Empfindlichkeit des Bildsensors. Je empfindlicher, desto mehr Bildrauschen, desto verwaschener, desto Scheisse. Die grosse Anzahl Megapixel wird dann vom Bildrauschen zur Sau gemacht. Also: Möglichst immer tief (ISO 100) für eine hohe Bildqualität, ausser ich will schnelle Bewegungen wie Wasserfälle und Schmetterlingsflügel einfrieren.
Draussen bei Tageslicht: Einzelschuss, Helligkeit ein Krälleli dünkler.
Innenräume, Wald; Sachen bei Tag mit viel Lichtunterschied: HDR benutzen. Die Kamera nimmt drei Bilder auf – ein helles, ein mittleres, und ein dunkles, und legt die dann übereinander. Das Ergebnis: Wo vorher weisse oder schwarze Bereiche waren, sind jetzt mehr Details sichtbar. Vorsicht bei schnellen Bewegungen.
Feuer bei Tag: HDR benutzen. Die Flammen, die aus den drei Bildern übereinandergelegt werden, sehen einfach nur geil aus:
Feuer in der Nacht: Weissabgleich auf einen fixen Wert stellen. (Fluor Warm White? Bei der nächsten Brandnacht prüfen.) Der automatische Weissabgleich springt sonst hin und her und manchmal ist das Feuer grünlich, manchmal gelb, manchmal orange. Das goldene Feuerorange ist das, was ich will.
Silhouettenbild am spiegelnden See, Video bei Nacht: Fokus auf manuell. Der Autofokus versagt bei den hellen Wellen am See, und in kompletter Dunkelheit firrt er ständig hin- und her.
Feuerwerk: ISO100, 2s Selbstauslöser, Belichtung 2, 5, 8s, Blendenöffnung F5.6 – F11, je nach Helligkeit.
Am diesjährigen Basler Feuerwerk; ISO100, F3.2, 5s Belichtungszeit.
Ich spiele mit dem Feuerstab im Garten; ISO100, F1.8, 8s Belichtungszeit.
ISO100, F2.2, 10s Belichtungszeit.
XYST1M Mikrofon: Immer prüfen, ob die beiden Mikrofonstöpsel gespreizt sind.
Durch das Tragen im Rucksack könnten sie zusammengedrückt worden sein und das sieht man nicht, wenn die tote Katze darüberhängt. Zusammengedrückte Stöpsel sind gut für Vorträge, wenn die Person direkt vor einem steht. Aber bei Umgebungsaufnahmen ist das Stereobild viel besser bei gespreizten Stöpseln. Hinweis: Am Boom hat es links und rechts Lautsprecher; Stöpsel ebenfalls gespreizt lassen!
Die wichtigsten Kameraeinstellungen auf die Schnelltasten legen!
Funktionsrad links: Einzelschuss, Serienfeuer, Selbstauslöser – ich bin auf dem Stativ und brauche JETZT den Selbstauslöser.
Funktionsrad unten: Helligkeit einstellen. Wichtig! Bei Videos auch gerne während der Aufnahme.
Funktionsrad rechts: HDR oder kein HDR.
Funktionsrad oben: Displayinformationen. Nur die wichtigsten anzeigen: Keine, Wasserwaage, Histogramm, Batteriestand. Standard: Wasserwaage.
Knopf im Funktionsrad: Umschalten Autofokus / Manueller Fokus. Konturen Gelb anzeigen lassen (Peaking Level: Medium, Peaking Color: Yellow); zeigt an, wenn das Bild scharf ist.
Taste Fn: Zirkuliert durch die drei weiteren wichtigen Einstellungen, in dieser Reihenfolge: ISO, Weissabgleich, Blitz. Alle anderen fortwerfen! Ich brauche keinen „Creative Style“, keine „Picture Effects“, keine Lächel-Erkennung und all den ganzen Hipsterkram.
Einstellungen in der Kamera
Wind Noise Reduction: Off; weil sonst gewisse Geräusche nicht mehr gut hörbar sind. Für Windabwehr gibts die Tote Katze, die man übers Mikrofon stülpen kann.
Digital Zoom: Off. Digital zoomen kann man im Photoshop.
Menu start: Previous. Damit landet man an der gleichen Stelle, wenn man den Menuknopf wieder drückt.
Airplane Mode: On. Aber natürlich.
Szenerad
P. Standardmodus. Mit dem Funktionsrad nach rechts die Blende möglichst weit öffnen.
S. Shutter. 2, 5, 10, 30 Sekunden bei Nachtaufnahmen, 1/25 kann man gerade noch mit den Händen halten, 1/1000 1/2000 für plätscherndes Wasser, Bienen, …
M. Feuerwerkmodus. Blendenöffnung und Blendenzeit manuell einstellen. (Beim S-Modus stellt sich die Blende automatisch ein. Das heisst: Sie geht voll auf, wenn es Dunkel ist; und dann pfeift eine Arschlochrakete mit hellem Silberschweif dazwischen und taucht das Bild in Überlichtweiss. Darum auch die Blende manuell einstellen.)
Movie. Das Bildformat stimmt bereits und ich kann noch alles einstellen, bevor ich auf Aufnahme drücke.
Intelligent Auto. Dubelimodus für kurzfristige Schnappschüsse.
Akkus
Viel davon, und dann noch mehr. Ich hatte mal mit einem Akku pro Tag gerechnet und stand dann auf einmal am 3. Tag mit 7 leeren Akkus da, noch 4 Tage Festival vor mir. Dann habe ich mir 10 weitere Akkus gekauft und mit 17 Akkus dürfte jetzt ausgesorgt sein. Das Ladegerät ist trotzdem immer dabei.
Auf dx.com gibt’s für 5$ Nachbauten, die länger halten als das 50.- teure Sony-Original.
