Ein sehr intensiver und aufschlussreicher Vortrag über was am Boom und allgemein an Festivals alles sein kann und ermöglicht wird.
Über die Frage, wie Maria Carmo Carvalho -- Kosmicare-Koordinator -- zu ihrer Aufgabe gekommen ist, erfahren wir auf eindrückliche Weise, wie es ihr das Festival ermöglicht hat, den Tod ihrer vor 10 Jahren verstorbenen Mutter zu verarbeiten und in ihr Leben zu integrieren. Etwas, das ihr vorher kein Psychiater und kein Antidepressiva möglich gemacht haben. Das ist das Potential, dass eine Umgebung wie das Boom Festival bieten kann.
Many of us come to these events with intentions to heal. These intentions might be conscious intentions, or subconscious. But I really do believe that we all gather here for a reason. Transformational festivals are a type of modern initiation experience.

Ja, diese Festivals halten alle möglichen Ereignisse für uns bereit, unangenehme; Grenzerfahrungen; Sachen, die vormals verborgen waren, werden an die Oberfläche gehoben und wollen angesehen werden…
We all come here to have fun, but we also come here to be challenged. To face places where we want to grow and want to transform.
What I’ve seen in recreational environments is that sometimes there isn’t an energy of welcoming that dark side. That not so fun side. That place, that we can get to on psychedelics and just in life. Where we find ourselves in a place where we’re feeling shame or overwhelm or insecurity.

Psychedelics really helped me heal from debilitating depression.
If you take psychedelics to try to get away from your problems, they have this funny way of bringing us directly back to exactly what we are trying to run away from.
Humans have used altered states as a way to heal, because when we’re stuck in our ego-reality, we can often see that, and it requires something, an input, that helps us perceive a different reality. So whether we’re ingesting a substance or dancing or we’re having sex or meditating -- these experiences help us to experience a different perspective, an altered state, which helps us bring back information to ourselves after the experience and during the experience, where we learn new things.

„Be the change you wish to see in the world.“ -- if you want to help to change the world and transform the world, focus on changing and transforming yourself. And I really do believe that’s the intention and desire that we all have when we come to these places.
I remember going to Buring Man and feeling like I had met my family. And I know that when I say that, there is resonance in this space right now. Because I feel like the collective experience often at these festivals is that we meet people, and we’re like: „Where have you been my whole life? I’ve been waiting for you to show up! My whole life I thought I was this weird outcast, and all of the sudden I’m in this big group of a bunch of weird outcasts. How did we all find each other? This is amazing!
These transformational festivals -- that’s what they’re for. They’re for transforming society. They’re not just for transforming a space for a short amount of time, because when this festival ends, we all go back to our communities, and we take what we learn back to our families, back to our friends, and that spreads like spores and seeds throughout our communities and throughout the world, and there are many of these festivals happening on the planet right now, and I believe it’s kind of a way of a term that just came to me: We’re inoculating.
