An einem entlegenen Ort entsteht jedes Jahr für eine Woche eine andere Welt. Ein Dorf der Feiern, Künste und Kostüme. Ein neues System: Ohne Geld. Ohne Müll. Ohne Atomstrom. Von seinen Bewohnern aufgebaut, und am Ende von ihnen niedergebrannt. Willkommen zu deinem Festival.

Dieses Jahr feiern wir vom 15.-22. Juli an einem geheimen Ort in der Nähe von Bern.

Philosophie

Ein Festival aus dem Nichts.

Stell dir vor, alles steht still: An der Tankstelle gibt es nichts mehr zu kaufen, die Supermärkte sind leer, deine Bankkarten sind über Nacht wertlos geworden. Aus der Steckdose kommt kein Strom mehr. Dein Handy ist flach, Züge stehen still. Dein Nachbar kommt vorbei und räumt deine Küche leer. Jeder ist auf sich alleine gestellt.

So absurd dieses Szenario klingt; so schnell können wir an diesen Punkt gelangen. Unsere Existenzgrundlagen sind hochkomplex und fragil, durch grössere Störungen wie Umweltkatastrophen und politische Umstürze kann das System weitgehend lahm gelegt werden. Eingelullt ins üppige mitteleuropäische Leben vergessen wir gerne, auf wie dünnem Eis unsere Zivilisation gebaut ist.

Das Feuerfestival probt, was zu tun ist, wenn das heutige System scheitert. Wir versuchen den Neubeginn. Mangel überbrücken wir mit Zusammenarbeit. Statt in Habgier und Gewalt zu verfallen, setzen wir auf Verbrüderung und Herzlichkeit. Aus knappen Ressourcen schaffen wir Fülle – dank Kreativität, Nachhaltigkeit und Recycling. Eigenverantwortung ersetzt Gesetze. Statt zuzuschauen, packen wirs an.

Am Feuerfestival erschaffen die Teilnehmer aus dem Nichts eine neue Welt. Sie proben, wie ein anderes System aussehen könnte. An einem entlegenen Ort bauen wir für eine Woche eine Zeltstadt, eine eigene Realität. Ein Tummelfeld für neue Gesellschaftsformen und Wirtschaftsmodelle, ein Spielplatz voller Kunst und Kuriositäten. Dieses Festival ist ein Feldversuch: Vieles wird funktionieren, vieles grandios scheitern.

Am Samstag dann lassen wir unsere Idee in Flammen aufgehen – wir brennen unseren Gegenentwurf in einer grossen Freudenfeier nieder. Und denken schon ans nächste Jahr, an den nächsten Versuch.
