Since 1997 Boom is a gathering of free spirits from all over the world that build the post-reality and connect with the universal spirit. Boom Festival gathers together people from all over the world to celebrate a new consciousness. Join your brothers and sisters at the shores of a magic lake in the August Full Moon 2012.

Boom itself however, is more than just a sonic festival. It was spawned by the idea that our psychedelic experience can make a positive impact – not just in terms of our personal development, but also in terms of the universe around us.
The festival takes place in Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal, situated within the Geopark Meseta Meridional – a bioregional area containing a complex eco-system of its own soils, landforms, watersheds, climates as well as native plants and animals. [link]

We’ve been involved in the development of several environmental projects, many of which fall into the following areas:
- Energy
- Sanitation (Compost Toilets)
- Water Treatment
- Reuse of materials and reduced consumption
- Recycling
- Public Transport
- Eco-Art
- Bio-Construction
- Social sustainability: Integration of minorities and people with special needs; develop a coherent and credible alternative to the models of mainstream culture
- Education
Boom is developing a new meaning for the psychedelic culture of the 21st century. By applying psychedelia as a tool for change, we make an ode to art and contribute the knowledge that is necessary for a new planetary culture.
It is not just about passive resistance and the non-violent ideology of the flower power spirit… We are living through a diseased phase of the planet. By listening to the darkness of emotions that colour the sonic of psytrance, we must not only elevate higher and higher, but delve down and deep. As Richard Tarnas puts it: “Enlightenment is not found through imagining figures of light, but through making the darkness conscious”.
Boom demonstrates how on both collective and individual scales, we are constantly surrounded by psychological and cosmic forces larger than ourselves. By harmonizing itself with the cosmic cycle of the August full moon, Boom is dreaming and awakening; appealing to the hearts of the conscious and the unconscious, and to all those that join us on this journey, every two years.
As Carl Jung sums it:
“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens”
