WikiLeaks ist eine Internet-Plattform, auf der anonym Dokumente veröffentlicht werden können, bei denen ein öffentliches Interesse angenommen wird. Das Projekt will denen zur Seite stehen, die unethisches Verhalten in ihren eigenen Regierungen und Unternehmen enthüllen wollen. Dazu wurde ein System für die massenweise und nicht auf den Absender zurückzuführende Veröffentlichung von geheimen Informationen und Analysen geschaffen.
Seit zwei Tagen hat Wikileaks die Veröffentlichung von etwa 250’000 geheimen US-Dokumenten gestartet – und ist seither unter massivem Beschuss – elektronisch wie auch politisch.
China has blocked Internet access to WikiLeaks‘ release of more than 250,000 U.S. Department of State cables, with its Foreign Ministry saying that it does not wish to see any disturbance in China-U.S. relations. (Quelle)
