Das Minarett ist ein religiös-politisches Machtsymbol des Islam. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, heute türkischer Premierminister, sprach in seiner Zeit als Bürgermeister von Istanbul Klartext, als er mit den Worten des türkischen Dichters Gökalp proklamierte: „Die Demokratie ist nur der Zug, auf den wir aufsteigen, bis wir am Ziel sind. Die Moscheen sind unsere Kasernen, die Minarette unsere Bajonette, die Kuppeln unsere Helme und die Gläubigen unsere Soldaten.“ Der Islamexperte Prof. Dr. Heinz Gstrein bezeichnet Minarette als „Zeichen des islamischen Anspruchs auf Weltherrschaft und als Symbol des Triumphs über Millionen unter dieser Herrschaft diskriminierte, oft regelrecht verfolgte Christen“.

Sehr spannend, dieses Video muss ich mir unbedingt zu gemüte führen 😉
Auch habe ich den starken Eindruck, dass es sich eher um ein Machtsymbol handelt und gar nicht unbedingt in ihrer Religion verankert ist. (Muss ich aber zuerst noch recherchieren…)
