Darf ich vorstellen: Da Bomb. Ein universales, natürliches Heilmittel (zu Risiken und Nebenwirkungen…) Quatsch! Keine Risiken. Sondern geballte Ladung Capsaicin. Capsaicin? Der Stoff, der Gewürze scharf macht.

Capsaicinoide lösen sich in Alkohol und Fett, aber nicht in Wasser. Sie haben eine antibakterielle und fungizide Wirkung und wirken somit konservierend.
Capsaicinoide reizen die Nervenenden bestimmter Nozizeptoren, die normalerweise Schmerzreize bei Einwirkung von Hitze oder chemischer Reizung erkennen. Die Ähnlichkeit der Empfindung von „heiß“ und „scharf“ (engl. beides „hot“) ist bereits auf Rezeptorebene begründet: Capsaicin bindet an den TRP-Kanal TRPV1, der auch durch eine Erhöhung der Temperatur aktiviert wird. Der oft schmerzhaften (aber nur scheinbaren) Erhitzung durch Capsaicin wirkt der Organismus durch vermehrte Durchblutung des Gewebes zum Zweck der Wärmeabfuhr entgegen, dadurch kommt es zu einer lokalen Rötung wie bei einer leichten Verbrennung. Von diesem Umstand leitet sich der Ausdruck „brennen“ ab. Den umgekehrten Effekt gibt es z. B. bei Einwirkung von geringen Konzentrationen von Menthol (Hustenbonbons), die scheinbar kühlen.

Ein Freund von mir hat so ein Döschen bei sich im Kühlschrank stehen. Seit – vielleicht einem Jahr, zwei Jahren? Jedenfalls sind gerade mal 5% gebraucht… Da nimmt man nämlich eine Zahnstocherspitze, und Sekunden später dreht sich der Volume-Knopf der Hitze auf 120 Dezibel.

Dabei ist das alles bloss Illusion. Die Wärmerezeptoren (Nerven) werden gereizt – es kommt zu keinen wirklich physischen Schäden. Und Capsaicin hat ein paar sehr schöne positive Effekte:

Capsaicin – Eine Wunderwaffe, die blitzartig wirkt und doch nicht verletzt

• Capsaicin – der scharfe Stoff im Paprika
• Capsaicin ist der scharfe Stoff im roten Pfeffer (Capsicum annuum) und damit jenes Gewürz, das Paprika, Chilli und Cayenne-Pfeffer die charakteristische Schärfe verleiht.
• In Indien und Indonesien werden große Mengen dieses Gewürzes verspeist, ohne dass dadurch der Magen- und Darmtrakt Schaden erleidet..
• Im Gegenteil, eine Studie aus Singapur weist nach, dass reichlicher Genuss von Chilli-Pfeffer die Magenschleimhaut vor den schädlichen Auswirkungen von Aspirin und Alkohol schützt.
• Eigene experimentelle Studien belegen, dass Capsaicin die Widerstandsfähigkeit der Magenschleimhaut gegenüber zahlreichen aggressiven Faktoren erhöht.
• Diese magenprotektive Wirkung kommt dadurch zustande, dass Capsaicin jene nozizeptiven Nervenfasern (Schmerz-Sensoren) in der Magenschleimhaut stimuliert, welche als neurales Alarmsystem fungieren und bei Stimulierung die Magendurchblutung steigern und andere lokale Schutzmechanismen aktivieren.
• Chilischarfmacher Capsaicin tötet Prostatakrebszellen in Laborversuchen ab

„…schützt vor schädlichen Auswirkungen von Alkohol“. Wie praktisch! Hat man vergessen, vor einem Exzess einen „Boden“ mit Brot zu legen, legt man danach halt einen Bombenteppich.

Die Wirkung ist berauschend:

„High“ durch Chilis?
Vielleicht haben Sie es schon einmal am eigenen Leibe verspürt: Der Genuß von Chili Peppers – ob pur oder zum Beispiel als „heiße“ Salsa – kann regelrecht das Wohlbefinden steigern. In diesem Fall haben Sie völlig richtig beobachtet, denn beim Genuß scharfer Peppers wird das Gehirn betrogen: Die konzentrierte Capsaicin-Dosis hält das Gehirn irrtümlich für einen starken Schmerz, den es zu bekämpfen gilt; das bewirkt die Ausschüttung von Endorphin, einem körpereigenen, morphiumähnlichen Schmerzkiller. Dies kann zu einem gesteigerten Glücksempfinden beitragen; einer milden Euphorie, bisweilen von unvermitteltem Schmunzeln begleitet. Experten bezeichnen diesen Zustand als „Pepper-High“, aber keine Angst: Das Ganze ist völlig harmlos, und süchtig machen Chilis allenfalls, weil man sie vom Speisezettel kaum wegdenken kann, sobald man sich einmal mit den scharfen Schoten angefreundet hat!

Kein Wunder muss ich nach dem Genuss von Bomb immer Grinsen, ohne einen Grund dafür zu haben 🙂
Und kein Wunder bin ich scharf darauf. Und danach bin ich scharf drauf. Wir sind schon huere Drögeler! Das ist aber auch ein heisser Stoff das…

Und wisst ihr was? Da Bomb ist das geborene Anti-Depressiva! 1. Kann sich jeder Schmerz zufügen, 2. ohne gesundheitliche Schäden, 3. werden dabei Glückshormone frei, 4. Natur pur – was will man mehr. Die Jugendlichen sollen Da Bomb futtern, anstatt sich zu Ritzen! 😉

Ach ja, gemessen wird der Schärfegrad anhand einer Skala; in Scoville-Einheiten. Geht von 0 bis 16 Millionen. Da Bomb hat mehr als 200’000 Scoville-Einheiten. Das bedeutet, man braucht 200’000 Wassertropfen, um die Schärfe zu neutralisieren.
Es gibt noch weitere Spinnergewürze – so hat „Z – nothing beyond“ satte 4 Millionen Scoville. Wenn man bedenkt, dass ziviler Pfefferspray bei 2 Millionen liegt, und Polizeipfefferspray bei 5 Millionen.. Guet Nacht!
Aber irgendwann spielt es eh keine Rolle mehr, wie scharf etwas ist. Ob man seine jetzt Zunge in eine Kerzenflamme hält, oder einen Schweissbrenner in den Mund nimmt – weh tut’s so oder so.

Bei mir gibt’s ab jetzt jedenfalls jeden Tag Bombenalarm. Das das so gesund ist, habe ich auch nicht gewusst. Jedenfalls fühle ich mich nach einem Bomb-Essen wie nach einer Achterbahnfahrt – glücklich, durchblutet und entspannt.
