Soooo – 🙂

Ich geniesse nun meinen ersten Tag Ferien. Letzten Freitag habe ich meine Festplatte mit dem Gutmann-Löschalgorithmus pulverisiert. Macht man sowas, wenn man in die Ferien geht?

Stimmt. Aber es sind eben spezielle Ferien. Die Firma sieht nachher ein bisschen anders aus. Auch der Standort wird gewechselt. Die Farbe blau wird mit Rot übermalt. Auch sind dann alles neue Leute dort.

Fällt etwas auf? Genau: Die Firma ist nach meinen Ferien nicht mehr die gleiche!

Hatte letzten Freitag meinen letzten Arbeitstag bei umantis. Und am 4. August beschreite ich den selben Arbeitsweg, laufe am Schluss einfach 20 Sekunden länger – zwei Häuser weiter, zum Hauptsitz der namics AG.

Es hat sich im vergangenen Jahr gezeigt, dass „Webapplikationen bauen“ nicht zwingend Kontakt mit HTML, CSS und Javascript bedeutet. Die Applikation findet zwar im Webbrowser statt – aber „Entwickelt“ wird im XMLSpy in einem Klicki-Bunti-Modus. Keine Zeile Code.
Gut: Es gab Fälle, da musste man das hauseigene Datenbankmanagement-System mit kleinen Perl-Skripts erweitern. Das war immerhin ein bisschen Programmieren.

Bei einer Anwendungsspezifikation sass ich dabei und dachte mir: So müsste man das designen. Doch Fehlanzeige: Die Strukturen und Elemente sind alle gegeben; Tabellen, Suchleisten, Eingabemasken. Was für eine scheussliche Zwangsjacke! Wo ist das Web geblieben?

Naja, und neben dem Fakt, dass das Ding auch noch langsam ist und mindestens dreimal soviel Speicher frisst wie ein heutiger Oberklasse-PC, und dem Fakt, dass es – wie leider oft so – nur ums schnelle Geldverdienen geht, habe ich mich mal umgesehen.

Ich musste nicht weit schauen. Zwei Häuser weiter geht nämlich voll die Post ab. Eine reinrassige Webmeisterei. Dort hat man nicht bloss eine hausbackene Technologie, sondern viele unterschiedliche Technologien. Dort ist auch AJAX kein Fremdwort, und dort denkt und träumt man in validem HTML. Die haben sogar einen eigenen Blog, und stellen ihre Bilder auf Flickr. Dort lebt man das Web. Sehr sympathisch!

Was werde ich dort konkret tun? Ich bin Web Engineer im Frontend-Bereich. Nehme das Design von den Designern entgegen und reichere es mit Javascript an, werfe das Ganze in einen CMS-Topf oder in die PHP-Pfanne und lasse es kochen.

• Tiefgreifende Kenntnisse in einer Markup-Sprache (HTML, CSS)
• Kenntnisse einer serverseitigen Skriptsprache (PHP oder ASP)
• MySQL Kenntnisse von Vorteil

3…2…1… bald ist dieser schöne Traum vorbei… komm Wecker…. wann klingelst du….? Nichts geschieht. Gut!

Und die machen alles. Firmenwebsites, Plattformen, Intranets – oder auch das TV-Programm und der Web-Player des Schweizer Fernsehns stammen aus der namics-Feder…
