Ich glaub, ich habe bald ein neues Hobby! Vor kurzem bin ich zufällig darauf gestossen: Geocaching.
„Sucht nach einer schwarzen Plastikbox, die vergraben ist“, stand am 3. Mai 2000 im Internet zu lesen. „Nehmt euch etwas, lasst dafür etwas da! Tragt alles ins Log-Buch ein! Viel Spass!“
Dave Ulmer aus dem US-Bundesstaat Oregon hatte das geschrieben. Er vergrub einen wasserdichten Plastikeimer mit Videos, Büchern und Kleinigkeiten in einem Wald bei Portland und veröffentlichte die Koordinaten in einer Newsgroup.
Und das war der Beginn von Geocaching. Und so verstecken weltweit 40’000 Benutzer ihre Caches, bestehend aus Tupperwareboxen, Filmdosen oder Munitionskisten. Weltweit sind fast 400’000 Caches versteckt, 4’000 davon in der Schweiz. Schatzsuche per GPS? Endgeil, so macht spazieren gleich mehr Spass!
Ich erinnere mich: Wir sind mal während eines Pfingstlagers zufällig auf so einen Cache gestossen. Damals wussten wir noch nicht, was das bedeutet… Heute wissen wir, das Geocaching eine Hightech-Schatzsuche ist. Hmm, Technik kombiniert mit Outdoor? Das passt!
Es gibt auch noch andere Caches als die „traditionellen“. Beispielsweise Multicaches, welche Hinweise auf den nächsten Standort geben. Spätestens ab dann ist ein GPS-Empfänger zwingend erforderlich. Es heisst dann zum Beispiel: Geh zu diesem Ort und zähl die Zwischenräume im Geländer, oder mit Mathe-Rätseln müssen die Koordinaten herausgefunden werden. Dann gibt es noch Nachtcaches, welche nur in der Nacht möglich sind, z.B. die Lichter von einer Fabrikanlage / Flugzeuglandebahn zählen usw.
Ok, mal schauen, ob es in der Nähe von Aesch welche Caches gibt. Oh ja, gleich mehrere!
Doch mein erster Cache befand sich woanders:
In Pratteln, bei einer Tramschlaufe vor der Station bei der Schule! „Der Bewegliche“ nennt er sich.
Dieser Cache ist nicht fest nur an einem Ort, sondern er bewegt sich: mal ist er da mal ist er dort. Warum Du ihn dennoch immer an oben genannten Koordinaten findest wirst Du spätestens vor Ort kapieren. Für den „normalen“ Cacher sollte dies nun eigentlich genügen.
So und nun sollten nur noch diejenigen weiterlesen, welche noch mehr verwirrt oder in Ihrer Vermutung bestätigt werden wollen: Wenn der Cache da ist, könnte Gefahr nahen. Sei dies Gefahr für Dein Leben oder von Muggeln beobachtet zu werden. Dafür kannst Du ihn dann aber dennoch gefahrlos und einfach bergen. Nach dort wird der Cache nicht automatisch befördert. Aber Du kannst veranlassen dass er nach dort befördert wird. Dann aber brauchst Du feinere Hände um den Cache überhaupt bergen zu können.
Hä? Was könnte das denn sein? Es zeigte sich, als ich dort ankam:
Eine Barrierre! „Wenn der Cache da ist, könnte Gefahr nahen.“ – das Tram! So eine geile Idee! Tja und, wenn man genauer hinsieht, bemerkt man im Innern der Barrierre ein graues Kästchen…
…der Cache! Und sogleich habe ich mich dort im Logbuch eingetragen:
Ach ja, Muggel: Das sind die Uneingeweihten; die Leute, welche Geocaching nicht kennen…
Woah, Geocaching ist wirklich witzig. Jetzt habe ich eine Alternative, wenn’s mal nicht zum Fliegen geht. Und mein GPS-Empfänger ist auch unterwegs, für Fr. 130.- bei eBay ersteigert – „do chasch nüt saage!“
