Ich glaub, ich habe bald ein neues Hobby! Vor kurzem bin ich zufällig darauf gestossen: Geocaching.

„Sucht nach einer schwarzen Plastikbox, die vergraben ist“, stand am 3. Mai 2000 im Internet zu lesen. „Nehmt euch etwas, lasst dafür etwas da! Tragt alles ins Log-Buch ein! Viel Spass!“

Dave Ulmer aus dem US-Bundesstaat Oregon hatte das geschrieben. Er vergrub einen wasserdichten Plastikeimer mit Videos, Büchern und Kleinigkeiten in einem Wald bei Portland und veröffentlichte die Koordinaten in einer Newsgroup.

Und das war der Beginn von Geocaching. Und so verstecken weltweit 40’000 Benutzer ihre Caches, bestehend aus Tupperwareboxen, Filmdosen oder Munitionskisten. Weltweit sind fast 400’000 Caches versteckt, 4’000 davon in der Schweiz.

Das Messengersystem funktioniert wie gewohnt. Auch ohne Javascript. Einzig das Archiv ist noch nicht dabei; wenn ich Zeit habe werde ich das aber nachholen.

Nun ist es soweit; ich bin endlich dazugekommen, das Videomaterial meiner IPA-Präsentation zu rendern – wenn auch das Bild etwas unscharf ist und ich ab und zu etwas an der Helligkeit schrauben musste…

Wie schon erwähnt, habe ich mich an Steve Jobs‘ Präsentationen angelehnt. Denn selbstverständlich lasse ich mich NICHT in diese Powerpoint Zwangsjacke zwängen, schon gar nicht bei meiner Abschlussarbeit.

Wer kennt sie nicht: Die Powerpoint Folien, welche nach Firmenvorlagen erstellt wurden, diese unübersichtlichen Dinger, auf denen schon geschrieben steht, was der Moderator bereits erzählt. Und spätestens nach der zweiten Folie ist das Publikum fest eingeschlafen.

Zufällig darauf gestossen, als ich die Liste der Polizeikräfte der Schweiz bei Wikipedia anschaute: Sondereinheit Barrakuda.

Die Schweiz hat (gemäss dieser Liste) zwei Sondereinheiten: Enzian und Barrakuda. Und jetzt kommts: Von wo kommt wohl diese Barrakuda?

Barrakuda ist der Name einer 1973 aufgestellten Sondereinheit (SE) der Polizei Basel-Landschaft.

Wenn ich heute durch die Läden streife, dann springen mir vor allem solche Dinge ins Auge: Coke Zero. Ohne Zucker. 20% weniger Fett. Kalorienarm. Weight Watchers.

Hey, was soll das eigentlich? Ich bin auf der Suche nach der ultramässigen Kaloriensuperbombe. 400% Fett. Mmmh, wie sowas wohl schmecken muss?
Ich weiss es nicht. In all diesem Magersucht-Trend finde ich kein Produkt mehr, welches mich auch nur ansatzweise anständig ernährt. Schmeissen wir die Fette raus, dafür kommen hundert künstliche Zucker hinzu, plus noch ein paar E-Nummern. Prima!

Ich finde, hier werden die Kunden hintergangen. Wenn ich Zucker kaufe, dann will ich auch Zucker kriegen. Coca Cola ist dafür berüchtigt, viel Zucker zu enthalten. Und was kriege ich dafür? Zero Zucker!
