Gestern fanden gleich zwei Special Events statt: Der eine in San Franzisco, der andere in einem Konferenzraum der GIBM in Pratteln…

Ich mag Steve Jobs‘ Präsentationen. Seine Präsentationstechnik ist einfach extrem stylisch. Man sieht z.B. an diesem Bild hier:

…dass er auch vor einem leeren Screen etwas erzählen kann. Billi-Boy geht jedoch fast unter in seinen überladenen Folien… [Link]

Ist doch klar, dass ich auch so eine Präsentation auf die Beine stellen will. Mindpad eignet sich hervorragend dafür. Nur schade, dass die Zeit auf 7 Minuten begrenzt ist – ich könnte 60 Minuten erzählen!

In Pratteln konnte ich nun endlich mein Projekt präsentieren. Ein Projekt, welches mir seit nun gut einem halben Jahr die Freizeit verdunstet. Wie sehr habe ich mich darauf gefreut, wie sehr musste ich zittern, ob sie überhaupt durchgeführt wird – doch jetzt ist der grosse Moment gekommen.
Wie schnell mein Herz hämmern kann wenn man plötzlich vor 110 Leuten steht…

Unsere Projekte wurden im Rahmen eines Elternabends für Lehrmeister, Lehrer und Eltern von 1. Lehrjahr Lernenden als „Zückerli“ vorgeführt.

Erstaunlicherweise hat alles geklappt – auch wenn mir noch in der Nacht vorher (so etwa um Mitternacht) einfiel, dass es in diesem speziellen Konferenzsaal evtl. kein Internet geben könnte. So musste ich alles noch lokal installieren….

Doch es lief prima. Am Anfang konnte ich kaum reden, so nervös war ich – das besserte aber, je länger ich präsentierte.

Wie Steve Jobs habe auch ich demonstrativ gewisse Grössenvergleiche gemacht:

…und ein paar Überraschungen mit eingebaut. Z.B: PageSwitcher, ein Feature, von dem niemand wusste, und welches exklusiv an diesem Tag veröffentlich wurde. Selbstverständlich dann, wenn man _eigentlich_ schon am Ende ist – aber natürlich kommt da was dazwischen. Nämlich das berühmte

Als ich dann als krönender Abschluss noch demonstrativ das „Präsentation“-Todo auf meiner persönlichen Todo-Liste abgehakt habe, war die Show perfekt.

Gewisse Leute kamen nacher an der Ausstellung zu mir, und fragten, wieviel das denn kostet – mann, es ist gratis! Warum fragt ihr?

Irgendwie habe ich das Gefühl, dass gewisse Leute glauben, dass etwas nur Wert hat, wenn es auch was kostet. Von wegen.

Und heute bekam ich folgendes E-Mail:

Als Lehrmeister für die Genossenschaft Migros Basel war ich gestern am Elternabend der GIBM und war sehr beeindruckt von Ihrem Mindpad Produkt. Ich habe mir in der Zwischenzeit auch ein Login besorgt und etwas herumexperimentiert. Ich kann Ihnen zu Ihrem Wurf nur gratulieren.

Meine Frage, wird dieses Produkt irgendwann der Internet-Gemeinde zur Verfügung gestellt (Open Source) oder wird es käuflich erwerbbar sein ? Ich bin schon lange auf der Suche nach so einem Produkt für meine private, persönliche „Knowledge Umgebung“, für Family und Friends. Doch alle Produkte die ich kenne sind entweder nicht das was ich mir vorstelle (Joomla, Postnuke, Wiki, Sharepoint Services. etc..) oder sind, für private Zwecke, komplett unbezahlbar (Sharepoint Portal Server). Bei Ihrem Mindpad hat es beim mir gestern abend „geklickt“ J.

Na, das sind doch dicke News! Und ausgerechnet von jemandem „aus der Konkurrenz“…
