Dem Herrn, der gestern in die Drogerie zurückgerufen wurde, wurde Benzin anstatt Brennsprit für einen Rechaudgrill verkauft.

Nach einem Aufruf in Radios, Trams und Bussen brachte er das falsche Produkt zurück.

Der Kunde verlangte kurz nach 9 Uhr Brennsprit für das Rechaud. Verkauft wurde ihm aber Benzin. Diese Verwechslung hätte verheerende Folgen haben können, denn Benzin verflüchtigt sich wesentlich schneller als Brennsprit, womit hohe Explosionsgefahr besteht.

Die Drogerie stellte die Verwechslung im Verlauf des Vormittags fest und alarmierte die Polizei. Diese veranlasste daraufhin eine Warnung in den Radios und in den Basler Trams und Bussen. Schon 1995 verkaufte eine Basler Drogerie einer Kundin Leichtbenzin statt Brennsprit.
