Die neuen EU-Länder aus Mittel- und Osteuropa haben ein immenses Wachstumspotenzial. Ihre Entwicklung ist schwindelerregend das Streben nach Wohlstand und Reichtum treibt sie zu Höchstleistungen an. Wer sich jetzt nicht in diesen Märkten etabliert, vergibt die Chance, an diesem Aufschwung teilzuhaben. Die Schweiz kann mit einem jährlichen Wachstumszuwachs von ein bis zwei Milliarden davon profitieren!

Das hohe Wirtschaftswachstum in den neuen EU-Staaten wird bereits heute von vielen Schweizer Unternehmen erfolgreich genutzt. Dies sichert und schafft auch in der Schweiz Arbeitsplätze. Die Ausweitung der Bilateralen I auf die neuen Länder sorgt für mehr Rechts- und Investitionssicherheit. Vor allem für kleine und mittlere Unternehmen ist dies von grosser Wichtigkeit und schafft die Voraussetzungen für Expansionspläne.
Personenverkehrs-Abkommen: Herzstück der Bilateralen I
Der freie Personenverkehr ist Teil der Abkommen, die im Rahmen der Bilateralen I abgeschlossen wurden. Seit 2002 ist er in Kraft immer noch mit Schutzmechanismen und Kontingenten. 2009 kann die Schweiz über die generelle Weiterführung entscheiden.

Wir Schweizer profitieren vom Personenverkehr
Schweizerinnen und Schweizer profitieren doppelt vom freien Personenverkehr mit der EU: Sie können in jedem anderen EU-Land Arbeit suchen oder sich niederlassen. Und für Firmen wird es einfacher, Schweizer in ihren Tochterfirmen in der EU einzusetzen. Zudem werden die Diplome gegenseitig anerkannt.

Personenverkehrs-Abkommen für alle EU-Länder
Die bilateralen Verträge zwischen der Schweiz und der EU wurden 2004 automatisch auf die neuen EU-Mitgliedstaaten ausgeweitet. Auch der freie Personenverkehr als Teil der Abkommen soll in gleicher Logik für alle 25 EU-Länder gelten. Mit klugem Verhandeln und viel Geschick hat die Schweizer Diplomatie hier wirkungsvolle Schutzklauseln herausgeholt.
Flankierende Massnahmen schützen die Arbeitnehmer
Nicht nur Übergangsfristen, sondern auch ein ausgebautes System von flankierenden Massnahmen sollen den Schweizer Arbeitsmarkt schützen. Sie sorgen dafür, dass für in- und ausländische Arbeitskräfte die gleichen Bedingungen gelten. Die flankierenden Massnahmen gelten auch dann noch, wenn der freie Personenverkehr 2014 generell eingeführt wird.
Ein Nein bedroht Arbeitsplätze und treibt die Preise in die Höhe
Am 25. September geht es um den Fortbestand der bilateralen Abkommen mit der EU. Ein Nein setzt alle Bilateralen aufs Spiel. Der Schaden für Politik und Wirtschaft wäre immens. Für Neuverhandlungen wären wir auf den Goodwill der EU angewiesen. Ein solcher Kniefall vor der EU wäre der Schweiz unwürdig.
