Schlagwort: Podcast. Ein Wort, das in letzter Zeit in aller Munde ist. Was ist denn überhaupt ein Podcast?

„Podcast“ ist ein zusammengesetztes Wort von iPod und Broadcast
Podcasts sind kurze Radioshows. Es sind Audiobeiträge, die mehr oder weniger regelmässig erscheinen. Ähnlich wie ein Weblog – nur dass man den Text vorgelesen bekommt.
Jeder darf Podcasten. CNN hat einen. Ruedi Bünzli aus Hinterduggingen auch. Ganz egal ob Profi oder Amateur, ganz egal ob gesprochener Text, Gedanken zum Tag, Musik, Geräusche, Diskussionen – fast alles findet man unter den Podcasts.

Funktionsweise:

1. Podcasterin Alice erzeugt eine Audiodatei – den Podcast oder Cast – mit Hilfe eines Computers, einer Soundkarte und einem Mikrofon.
2. Diese Audiodatei wandelt Alice, wenn nicht schon bei der Aufnahme vorgesehen, in das platzsparende MP3-Format um.
3. Die Internetadresse, unter der die MP3-Datei abgelegt wird, vermerkt Alice im RSS-Feed ihres Blogs oder ihrer Webseite.
4. Alice lädt die MP3-Datei auf ihren Podspace im Internet hoch.
5. Als nächstes veröffentlicht Alice den neuen oder aktualisierten RSS-Feed im Internet.
6. Bob wird über Podcast.de auf Alice‘ Podcast aufmerksam.
7. Mit Hilfe eines Podcasting-Clients lädt Bob sich die MP3-Datei herunter.
8. Der Podcasting-Client sorgt nach Ende des Downloads für eine automatische Übertragung des neuen Podcasts auf Bobs MP3-Player. Jetzt kann Bob den Podcast jederzeit und überall anhören, wie es ihm beliebt.
