Auch dieses Jahr wurde über dem Rhein geballert. Wir hatten die Gelegenheit, die Schlacht aus nächster Nähe zu betrachten…

Doch dieses Mal war die Stimmung anders. Man fühlte sich um 60 Jahre zurückversetzt wie im 2. Weltkrieg – aus mehreren Lautsprechern drang eine Stimme, die Hitler alle Ehre gemacht hätte… Hysterisch kreischend forderte die Stimme die Leute zum Applaus auf, krächtste mal hierhin, mal dorthin, und verriet uns, was wir als nächstes zu Erwarten haben. Puh, der ging wohl allen ziemlich auf den Geist, dieser Pseudodiktator!

Was war wohl der Anlass, dass sich alle Leute um den Rhein versammelt haben? Stimmt, unser Diktator kündigte einen Häftling an, dem die Todesstrafe blüht. Er soll heute Nacht exekutiert werden.
Sie steckten den armen Kerl in einen Käfig und warfen ihn in den Rhein:

Schliesslich kam dann das Schlachtschiff den Fluss hinaufgetuckert.
Wie war nochmals sein Name? Kisten-Erich? Kies-Ueli? Steinschlag-Ruedi? Ist ja eigentlich auch egal. Jedenfalls wurden violette Blinklichter an Ballons in den Himmel gelassen, wohl als Zielmarkierung für die Kanoniere.
Sekunden später begann das Schiff wie wild aus allen Rohren zu feuern…

Dabei entstand ordentlich Rauch…

Gut eine halbe Stunde lang dauerte die Schlacht an. Danach war der Himmel mit Rauch überzogen. Die Leute applaudierten – wir haben den Feind zurückgeschlagen! Bis zum nächsten 1. August…
