Weniger ist manchmal mehr – das zeigt Apple’s iMovie. Es braucht nicht immer gleich ein Adobe Premiere mit 1’000 Funkionen, nur um einen kurzen Film zu schneiden, vertonen, und zu exportieren. iMovie beschränkt sich auf das Wesentliche – aufwändige Schnitteffekte lassen einen Film nämlich amateurhaft wirken. Der einfache, direkte Schnitt, und die weiche Überblendung reichen.

Und der Workflow ist – wenn man mal weiss wie – einfach und effizient. iMovie macht genau das, was der Benutzer will – ohne ihm dabei mit umständlichen Einstellungs-Dialogboxen im Weg zu stehen. So macht cutten wirklich Spass.

Aber das geilste, was mir gestern beim Schneiden unseres kleinen Soaring-Movies aufgefallen ist, sind die Soundeffekte. Zuerst dachte ich, das wären so billige „Applaus“ und „Explosion“ Soundfiles, so wie wir sie aus PowerPoint kennen. Aber nein, Apple hat sich da wieder mal etwas ganz besonderes einfallen lassen:
