Da ist es!

Das grosse X im Rampenlicht eh Spotlight! Der Verkauf startete weltweit zur gleichen Zeit – eine Zeremonie wie man sie von Apple gewohnt ist…

Pünktlich um 18:00 Uhr fuhr der Verkäufer mit einem Rollwagen voller schwarzer Schachteln vor. Als Gag gabs dieses kleine Geschenk dazu:

Spotlight – a new state of find. Produziert einen kreisrunden Lichtkegel, analog zu Spotlight.

Das lässt das Herz schon höher schlagen. Zuhause heisst es: DVD rein, reboot, Einstellungen treffen, und laufen lassen. Der läuft auch alleine, also ging ich Nachtessen.

Als ich zurück kam, hat sich mein Puderdöschen zu einem Tigerkäfig gemausert. Die blaue Lupe oben rechts fällt als erstes auf: Spotlight! Ich probierte das gleich aus, tippte F..I..R…E…W… genau, Firewall, und Sekunden später gelange ich in die Systemeinstellungen an die richtige Stelle – ein Riesenvorteil! Ich muss mich ab jetzt einen Dreck scheren, wo was versteckt ist, ich tippe einfach, was ich suche, und plopp! ist es gefunden!

Thema Firewall: Dort sticht mir eine neue Checkbox ins Auge: Tarn-Modus. Aha, ab nun antwortet der Tiger nicht mal mehr auf Pings!

Jetzt nimmt mich Safari mit seiner neuen RSS-Funktionalität wunder. Also, s…a…f… Pfeil runter, Enter. Ja, so schnell geht das. Ok, testen wir mal: www.longneck.ch.vu *puff* *plopp* – WOOOW! Ich klicke auf einige Links. Heiliger Strohsack, das ging noch nie so schnell! Das ist ja schneller als mit Squid! Da hat Apple aber massiv an der Geschwindigkeit gefeilt, nicht mal Opera kann Safari das Wasser reichen!
Gleich neben der URL leuchtet der besagte RSS-Button. Klick drauf, und meine Blogs werden ohne Bilder einheitlich dargestellt. Das geilste ist aber ein Regler rechts: Dort kann man die Textlänge der einzelnen Blogs verändern – in ECHTZEIT! Hammerstark!

Ok, weiter geht die Tour… Bildschirmschoner. Oh, einige neue… Ok, das probieren wir doch gleich mal aus. Was haben wir denn da: RSS Visualizer. Und unter Optionen kann ich eine URL eingeben. Warum nicht gleich meine Homepage? Gesagt, getan. Testen. Nein, ich fasse es nicht: „Longneck’s Weblog – April 29, 2005“ schwebt als Titel über blau animiertem Hintergrund vorbei. Und dann werden die einzelnen BLogs als 3D animierter Text nach und nach angezeigt – in Echtzeit mit dem Internet synchronisiert! DAS IST HAMMMMERGEEEEEILLLL!!!!!!!!! Mit anderen Worten: Alles, was hier gebloggt wird, wird in meinem Bildschirmschoner angezeigt!

Weiter getestet habe ich aus zeitlichen Gründen noch nicht. Aber keine Sorge, der Rest kommt schon noch. Stay tuned…
