Beim Suchen im Web nach Applescript Anleitungen bin ich auf Quicksilver gestossen; In einem Forum fielen Wörter wie „fast“, „script“, „automate“, „never miss it“ und „launcher“…
Naja, ich nahm das Teil also kurzerhand unter die Lupe, und kam tüchtig auf die Welt: Das ist das GEILSTE Tool das jemals programmiert wurde!!!!!!!! Leute, OSX bekommt wieder einmal mehr eine neue Bedeutung! Gott bin ich froh dass ich darauf gestossen bin. Warum:
Was es ist: Es funktioniert etwa wie eine Desktopsuchmaschine. Doch eigentlich ist es nichts anderes als ein simpler Programmstarter… Sozusagen eine grafische Kommandozeile.
Was es macht: Es lassen sich fast alle Funktionen des Betriebssystems BLITZSCHNELL(!) mit der Tastatur steuern.
Wie es funktioniert: Das Teil hockt im Hintergrund und hört auf die „Control“-Taste.
Ich möchte z.B. eine Datei „Quicksilver“ (Programmdatei) auf den Schreibtisch kopieren. Alles, was ich dazu machen muss, ist
1. „Control“-Taste betätigen
2. „qu“ eingeben
3. „Tab“-Taste drücken
4. „kop“ eingeben
5. „Tab“-Taste drücken
6. „schreib“ eingeben
7. „Enter“
Das sieht jetzt schon fast zu kompliziert aus. In Wirklichkeit ist das ganze viel schneller und einfacher. Kurz: [ctrl]qu[tab]kop[tab]schreib[enter]
Schlicht und einfach genial!!!! Man muss es einfach ausprobieren!
Aber nicht nur Dateien lassen sich kopieren; selbstverständlich können auch Programme gestartet-, Dateien als Email verschickt werden und noch vieles mehr. Das tönt jetzt nach wenig Funktionen, doch dessen Anwendung ist mächtig! Ich brauche kein Dock mehr, und auch die Maus kann mal ausgesteckt werden…
Technik: Das ganze ist eine Art „Spotlight“. Bereits beim Tippen werden Programme und Dateien gefunden. Beim Drücken auf „Control“ ploppt das Fenster auf, das oben abgebildet ist. Nun muss man nur noch Schreiben, was man gerne hätte, will, machen möchte… Just do it. Ich habe mir z.B. mein MP3 Archiv indizieren lassen. Jetzt tippe ich nur noch „Etschgen“ ein und schon läuft Sound!
Genau so stelle ich mir Workflow vor. Mir kommt Quicksilver sehr entgegen, da ich gern und oft nur mit der Tastatur arbeite. Der Geschwindigkeitsvorteil ist riesig – und das ganze ist auch noch superhübsch animiert.
