Eigentlich kann man mit OSX alles mögliche anstellen. Fast alles! Leider…

Heute habe ich bereits einen kleinen Nachteil entdeckt: Die MAC-Adresse der Netzwerkkarte lässt sich zwar ändern (sudo ifconfig en0 ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx), doch der DHCP-Server sieht die gefakte IP einfach nicht!

Was ist passiert:
Der Header ist mal in Ordnung: Destination: FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF, Source: [faked-MAC]
Doch im Datenteil des DHCP-Packets (Bild) sind nochmals alle clientspezifischen Informationen gelistet, und dort ist die Hardwareadresse immer noch Original :-((

Es muss doch irgend eine Möglichkeit geben, die Hardwareadresse auch im DHCP-Packet zu ändern. Wie ärgerlich! Kein Wunder hatte ich am Dienstag in der Schule kein Netz…
Ich müsste den Request manuell mit einem getunten Packet auslösen – hmm, ob und wie das wohl funktioniert?

Das Problem ist: Beim Einstecken des Netzwerkkabels wird automatisch ein DHCP-Request losgeschickt…

Aber ich habe mir das genauer überlegt. Wer braucht denn schon DHCP? Der Header des Packets ist ja in Ordnung, somit werde ich mal sicher nicht vom Switch gesperrt. Also gebe ich die IP, Gateway, DNS etc. einfach manuell ein!
Wenn das funktioniert, dann hat ab nächsten Dienstag im Java-Unterricht jeder, der am Notebook eine WLAN Karte installiert hat, Internet!
